Hey guys, sorry for asking but does anyone have a spreadsheet or any advice on the group 1, 2 and 3 groups for the necessary and sufficient conditions. I often get confused and as a result I end up doing poorly on parallel questions. Specifically LSAT prep 37 Section 2 Question 26 destroyed my soul. If you guys can give me any tips or a spread sheet or online source that can dumb it down for me id really appreciate it.

Like many, I've doing a number of PTs and find that parallel flaw questions are my weakest point in LR.

I was wondering if anyone had advice about when to use mapping on parallel flaw questions vs. when to intuit the flaw and answer choice match?

For example, I've just completed PT 53, and JY uses a conditional map for Question 21 Section 1. I realized after watching JY's explanation that trying to reason through or intuit this flaw would have been rather futile.

However, on the same PT—Question 13 Section 3, JY reasons through the flaw in his explanation. His explanation was great (it was a part relating to whole flaw) but I'm not confident in my ability to know when to use reason and when to use maps.

If anyone who is proficient at Parallel Flaw questions could share language cues or other details they use to know when maps are optimal and when they should reason through the question, I would really, really appreciate them!

Just finished the November lsat flex.

I got LR-RC-LG. LR was very easy and it’s probably like something in the 60s. RC was just brutal, and I feel it’s even harder than the October’s RC. LG was always my best section (average about -0 or -1), but this time I just feel really bad. I don’t know if it’s because LG was the lsat section or what, but I just could not make any useful inferences at all.

I got 161 in the October test and I’m wondering if I should cancel this test or not.

should I just use the 161 to apply my safe schools and retake in January?

I just thought of this today and wanted to know if it would be an issue, the place I have been practicing for the LSAT in and where I plan to take it from is an upstairs room that doubles as a storage place for all my parents useless things that they don't want to throw out but do not need currently. Examples are scrap books, non perishable food, suitcases, pictures and some more things like that. The room is big and in the center I have my big desk I have been working at, nothing around me is of any academic value but will I be required to move things out of the room?

Is there a way to create a problem set based on a specific type of RC question? Based on my trends I need to work on meaning of phrase in context and application of hypothetical situations. Is it possible to create questions sets with that filter or are RC problem sets simply based on full passages.

So while I did understand why the wrong answer choices were wrong here, I had trouble understanding why E was right. Can anyone explain their reasoning here?

The reason I had trouble understanding why E was right was because I didn't really know what was the difference between "subjective association" and "possession of concept". I thought that a "subjective association" had to be an association that people made based on their "subjective" (aka personal) opinion, but I didn't see any personal opinion in passage A-- I saw people basing their opinion from the connotations in the languages themselves, not from their unique thoughts/experiences.

In addition, "whereas" in answer choice E indicates contrast between "subjective association" and "possession of concept" yet, from my perspective, it seems like people holding a masculine view of a violin and people holding a rough view of numerical values both seem like "possessions of concepts"-- they are both opinions that people hold.

So how is E right?

Any #help would be appreciated!

I took my LSAT this morning at 10:20. The proctor set up was easy. I didn’t have a trouble with you games but I don’t feel like I truly did my best. It could’ve been from nerves or it could’ve truly been just finding difficulties in the questions. Once I was done with the test though it was a whole different frustration. My proctor Musta got disconnected during the middle of my test and while I was taking the test I never noticed until I got on to the finished page. I could not check out without a proctor for the recording to finish and had to reach out to proctorU. Did anyone have the same issue?

I’m looking for a study buddy who’s really solid with RC — I used to average max -3 on RC with older tests but am now doing worse than before — now I sometimes get -7. I am currently averaging anywhere from 168-173. If anyone would benefit from explaining how they arrive at certain answers/compare PTs — DM me! Would love to meet via Zoom couple of times throughout the week until the Nov flex.

I need help with trying to answer the questions that ask something along the lines of "Which of following could substitute the condition (insert rule here)"? I don't know how to approach these at all.

Hey! I have been studying for a few months with my test in October. Lately I have been super focused on getting the LR wrong answers down. I average at -6 with my lowest -3. I usually have 2-3 minutes left to go over my flagged questions, so I do not think timing is the issue. I only get 5 star, sometimes 4 star, questions wrong. What is the best strategy I can use this next month to get my wrong answers down?

Does anyone have any tips on studying LR? It’s the section I struggle the most on and I’m not sure if I’m studying right or what but I haven’t seen much improvement in weeks. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

I took the February test this weekend (yay!), but I ran into some trouble trying to take the argumentative writing section. When I went to take it last week, my Google Chrome gave me a "Privacy Error". I had to call and ask them to reset the section for me! My plan is try it again tomorrow, but I wanted to ask if any other Mac-users experienced the same issue and what you did to get around it.

I had a quick question regarding RC. Something I've noticed when I'm doing RC is that on trickier problems, I almost always am able to eliminate the answers down to two answer choices, and at this point, I know one is the right answer and the other one is a trap answer.

Here is an example of a situation I'm talking about -

on PT51 Passage 4 Q27, I KNEW the answer was between b) and d), and it was just a matter of choosing the answer choice that's supported by the text. (right answer is d), I chose b)).

I realized this happens on many questions on RC where I am able to eliminate the answers down to two choices but fall for the trap answer about 80% of the time.

I wanted to ask the 7sage community if you have any tips when you are faced with this situation of having to choose between one right answer and one trap answer! Do you go back to the text to find support? How do you "logic" it out?

I find myself to be struggling the most with Main Point/Most Strongly Supported Questions on Reading Comprehension. If you have any suggestions for resources or strategy recommendations, please let me know. I am really struggling, so any and all help is greatly appreciated.

my worst section is RC.. I read the power scores and they say read the entire passage and "summarize" as youre reading.. others say skim thru and highlight may terms/dates/names/etc. then look at questions and attack from the questions.. Who is very strong in RC and can give me a solid recommendation? I learn better from peers. Would love a zoom call with someone because Im at a 139 BECAUSE of LR and RC

Hi all,

For LR, does anyone have any tips on how to flag questions to go back to during time? I usually finish my first sweep of the questions w/ 10 to 12 minutes on the clock, flagging questions along the way. However, when I finish BR, there's always a few questions that I got wrong and didn't go back to (either in time or in BR). It seems like a case of not knowing what I don't know. I also worry that I'm wasting time on some of the questions that I flag but ultimately got right on my first pass through.

As I am starting my Reading Comprehension Curriculum, I would like to see if you guys have any tips or have any advice ASIDE from what JY explains at the beginning of the section. Feel like it could be super beneficial to hear from someone who has made it through this section and explain what worked best for them.

As the title says, how long did it take you to break the -5~-6 ceiling? And were you studying full time or part time?

Does anyone know if you are retaking the Aug lsat on the 26th if your scores would be released at the same time as everyone else or will they be later?
