In other words, a wide variety of plants and a wide range of ways to use plants sounded different to me

B threw me off when it says "used in ways that no other people did at that time". It is not the same with "ate a wider variety of plants". I was thinking that maybe other people also use plants as food but just didn't discover the "wide variety of plants".

I didn't understand why we just assume that aliens are less intelligent than humans. I thought we were saying "unless" they are as intelligent as humans, which does not preclude the possibility that there are aliens that are as intelligent.

I got this question right by guessing between C and D. But I'm not satisfied with the explanation on C. C does address an important assumption made in the stimulus, namely that leisure travellers value their comfort as much as business travellers do. That is why airline companies should value leisure travellers comfort to make sure the 80% ticket sell don't fall. However, C addresses this concern by clarifying that comfort is not that important to leisure travellers, which in turns means even if the airline companies do not value leisure traveller's comfort, they would still purchase 80% of the tickets. This would weaken the argument, which says airline companies should value the comfort of leisure travellers because they make up 80% of ticket sell. In general, I am not quite sure why C is wrong.

I had the same thought process with you, but now I kind of understand why C is wrong. C says "not the primary concern", but not "do not value comfort at all". That means we cannot preclude the possibility that comfort is still very important to leisure travellers, but just the second most important instead of the primary concern.

If C is true, then not prioritising leisure traveller's comfort would not affect (reduce) the 80% ticket sell, because leisure travellers do not care about comfort. Hence, the airline company does not need to focus on the comfort of the leisure travellers.

I always fumble with EXCEPT questions under time pressure.... I always get them right in BR and beat myself up for seeing the right answer but overlooking it at the same time

B says the two forms are concentrated equally in lab studies, and the premise says the two forms are not concentrated equally in real life. If the ratio of concentration is different in the lab than in real life, then the data in lab is misleading. Hence the argument is strengthened.

Yea that's what I thought too. Also I think perhaps B would be weakening the argument if it changes not all to no (no victim of ebola experience hiccups.), but then it would contradict the facts given in the stimulus.

I misread A as "most bacteria that are not resistant to heavy metal poisoning are also not resistant to antibiotics.".... Would A be more correct than it is if it was written this way?

I'm not from 7sage but maybe my thought process on why B is wrong helps. B basically says amongst all the joggers in the groups (note: ambiguous, which group exactly? the stretching group or non-stretching group?), many of those who were previously injured have difficulties in stretching. First, it's not clear which group we are talking about, it could be the case that all the people who are injured and thus have difficulties to stretch are in the non-stretching group. If that's the case then great, they were not stretching anyway so knowing they have difficulties in stretching doesn't do anything to the argument. Or we can charitably assume that all of those who were previously injured and thus have difficulties in stretching are in the stretching group. Just because they have difficulties in stretching does not warrant us in assuming they do not stretch. Perhaps they do not follow the path with the least resistance. Who knows? It would be an unwarranted assumption to make if we just say "All of those previously injured and have difficulties to stretch are joggers in the stretching group. And because they are injured, they definitely do not stretch. Since neither groups actually stretch, the conclusion of this experiment is wrong." That contains way too many unreasonable assumptions.

I am massively behind on time... I only managed to do 3/5 questions when timed and only got 2 of them right. When untimed I got all five right. And it actually did not take me that much longer when untimed. I feel like a ticking clock disproportionally stresses me out. Anyone got any advices?

My logic for choosing A was imagining myself being the car thief lol. If I hold on to the car after the owner notices and calls the police, it is probably easier for the police to track me down because the owner can tell the police the colour of the car (and the number plate/brand etc.). So more thieves holding onto the car means more thieves get caught and convicted. Moral of the story, abandon the car as soon as possible after you stole it.

My logic here was that if you don't abandon the car, it's more likely for the police to track you down. Because the owner can tell the police what the colour of the car is, or the number plate etc. But that was just my instinctive guess...
