Can I get better at inference, MBT, MBF, MSS questions through doing the LG core curriculum? It seems LG is all inferences and I would say these types of questions are consistently my biggest time sucks and it's not even close.

I started studying by taking a diagnostic and scored a 160. After a week or so of fundamentals, I took a PT on an off day and got a 152 which bothered me a lot, but I decided I wouldn't PT until completing the courses and understanding the concepts. The day after completing the courses (about 1.5 months later), I scored a 161 or 162. Since then, I have done 4 more prep tests, all 4-7 days of studying apart, and have gotten a 160 every single time. The past 2 times I have taken a PrepTest, I have felt really good about each section. I usually always have 5-10 minutes left over every section where I go back and review the questions I have flagged, and regularly get to review every question I'd flagged.

I'm taking the November LSAT in just two weeks and I'm a bit disheartened that I have been working for 2 months and making virtually no progress. I'm desperate for any advice or ways to renew my approach.

Hi everyone, I've studied for the LSAT for a while now, with the following fresh PTs remaining: a few in the 90s, two in the 80s, and one in the 70s. I plan to take the November LSAT and want to have a few remaining for the January if needed. Should I save one or two 90s for January and use the 70s and 80s now? Or is it better to remain accustomed to the most recent PTs (90s) before November?

Any suggestions appreciated!

Hi everyone, I've recently drilled timed sections from the earlier PTs (1-15) and have seen my LR section score improve from about -4/-5 (later PTs) to -2/-3 (earlier PTs) and my RC score improve from -4 (later PTs) to -2 (earlier PTs) in the past two weeks. I've also noticed that I'm able to breeze through the questions faster with time to spare and more confidence at the end of the section. Is this most likely a reflection of an actual skill improvement, or are the earlier PTs easier? There seems to be varying information and opinions about the weight that should be given to earlier PTs.

It's also very likely that I am reading too much into the minor variance from the earlier PTs to current PTs, but I'm a bit nervous to see the results of a new, more recent PT.

Thank you in advance!

Goals for Timed Sections

Hello, I was listening to a 7sage podcast and the hosts mention having clear set goals that you establish before taking a drill, timed practice test, or timed sections. Does anyone have an example on what those type of goals should be? I feel like mine are way too general like read the stimulus carefully or understand stimulus completely before getting to the answer choices.

Feeling discouraged? Help needed

Hi all! I received my results and I am extremely disappointed. I had scored a 156 and 157 previously and I just scored 156 again. I really want to break 160, although I had broken 160 on multiple prep tests. I am totally confused and shocked. I felt that I had a great grasp on the questions. Can anyone give any advice? I previously registered for the November LSAT just in case, so I have just over two weeks to lock in.

I am applying for Sept 2024 cycle, I've had a really rough year. Initially registered for the Jan test, however had a huge confusion with Lsac and didnt know that appoinments had to be made for tests. Missed the deadline and now my only option is Feb. Besides an lsat score I have a strong application, but do you y'all know if waiting till Feb of this year is realistic with Canadian and Ontario Law schools?

Hi Everyone

I need some advice. Last year I had decided that I wanted to take the LSAT and go to law school. So I had taken the January 2024 and February 2024 LSAT and got 145s on each which is not the best score. From November to March, both of my grandparents were in and out of Hospital. They both passed away, one before my exams and one after. I affect me a lot because I was very close to them. I should have never taken the LSAT then because I mentally was not prepared. I spent most of my time in the ICU and although I did try to study, my mind was somewhere else completely. I know that the two LSAT's I took were not a representation of who I am as a test taker and my ability to go to law school, but do law schools know that or care?

I have been studying for the November LSAT. My tutor suggested taking the November LSAT and if I do poorly then I would study for the January one. I don't know what to do. I know it looks bad to take the LSAT many times and 4 is a lot. Would law schools be understanding to me potentially taking the LSAT 4 times due to my circumstances? Should I take the November LSAT?

Thank you in advance!

Drilling Question

When should I start drilling questions? I am about halfway through the foundations, only learning the basics so not sure if I am prepared enough to start answering actual questions. Should I wait until after I finish the foundations? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi there,

I completed PTA RC, which doesn't have video or written explanations for the answers. Despite getting the answer correct, there was a major time sink on my end for the first question of the first passage. I want to reaffirm my thinking for the right / wrong ACs. Could anyone who has taken this PT confirm or revise my understanding?

Q1

AC A: Clandestine marriages is not at all supported by Donahue's position, lines 46-48 state that "so long as they acted in accordance with established bann procedures, a couple could marry without parental consent and still enjoy the blessing of the Church." Bann compliance is not considered clandestine. I had no trouble finding support against this.

HOWEVER, I struggled with whether the first part of this AC (concerning synthesis) is descriptively accurate and broad enough to be the MP. Is it accurate to say that "the doctrine of marriage by Pope Alexander III represented a synthesis of traditional ecclesiastical dnd legal opinion"? Would this sentence be accurate and potentially good enough for a revised MP or am I misunderstanding the passage?

AC B: More support for this is provided by the passage; no issues. (Based on mutual consent is supported by paragraph 1. Encouraged marriages based on love is supported in paragraph 2.)

Any help understanding this passage and question is appreciated! Happy studying!

I got the score I was hoping for today, and I want to say thank you to 7sage! But I also want to leave some videos for posterity that motivated me during my studies. I came across this story when doing some googling about an absence of evidence flaw question regarding Fermat's last theorem.

Some context:

Andrew Wiles describing proving Fermat's last theorem:

This morning I got my score back for the October LSAT. I have been consistently scoring in the mid to high 150’s even though I have been studying for about 3 months. I felt decent going into October but knew I was also taking the November test. To be honest, I was really just hoping for a low to mid 150’s on this test so I could have the confidence to do good on the November test. As I got my score back this morning, I did not perform well at all. I have no idea if I just didn’t settle into the test well or what happened but to say that I am discouraged is an understatement.

I have no idea how what to do in order to properly prepare for the November test. Obviously my study patterns did not pan out. I would appreciate any tips what so ever on what to do or how to move forward.

Thank you.

I am in a strange situation. I have a decent GPA and LSAT score, but I am only applying to in-state schools, all which happen to be pretty competitive. So, my GPA is a 3.77 and my LSAT is a 156. Here are the stats for the school I am applying to:

Median GPA 3.87 (25th and 75th percentile between 3.70 and 3.95) And Median LSAT 165 (25th and 75th percentile between 161 and 167)

I applied last year with roughly the same scores, slightly lower GPA and an LSAT of 155, and I was waitlisted and eventually not admitted. I had a really strong personal statement and resume, which I think helped compensate for my scores. Anyways, reapplying this year with my 156 (which came out today, super bummer on this.)

Anyways, all to say, should I write an addendum for my 156? I think my reasoning would just be lack of resources to low-income students and within my specific university. For some background, I aged out of foster care and have been funding my legal journey on my own. I also own my own home (I am 23 years old), which is super expensive and the reason I cannot devote more money to LSAT resources or applying to out of state schools.

What now? Addendum? Not apply this year at all and start studying for next year? Desperately in need of advice. Thank you all! And I hope the best for all of you in your legal journeys!

Test tomorrow

I am scheduled to take my first and hopefully last attempt at the LSAT tomorrow morning. I have been studying for two almost three months. My ambition is low and I will take anything 150+ lol. :)

Good luck to everyone else who is taking the test tomorrow! Hope you get whatever score you're aiming for.

And if for some reason you cannot make post like this, let me add a question. Should you study the day before your LSAT test?

I've been using 7 sage for a few weeks and wondered when was the best time to start or join one. I am still on foundations and wanted to know should I start when I'm scheduled to start taking PTs? Is there anyone interested in a study group where we go through the lessons together then review it together? I am uncertain, but I want to get the most out of studying with all the help I can get.

Hey 7Sage—I want to show you a feature of our new design and ask some questions about it. Respond if you're interested and if you have some time today! I'll probably want twenty to thirty minutes of your time over Zoom.

Thanks!

With the new LSAT changes, which PTs are being used for question drills, and which ones are completely clean for full PTs?

I've seen that 7sage recommends taking old PTs first, but I've already done a lot of drills that uses questions from all the old PTs. Should I still do a full PT for tests I know a few answers to?

Hello!

Can anyone help explain this question from the grammar section on comparatives?

"At least 59 percent of households maintained a lower indoor temperature than they had been accustomed to maintain on very cold days"

Exam strategy

Hello, I plan on taking the exam in February and then another one in June. However, I do not feel prepared at all unless something starts to click for me until February. Would it be better just to forego the February test feeling unsure/ under prepared and just take the June lsat where I will feel better prepared?

Is anyone on 7sage applying to Ontario law schools? Applications are due November 1st, so I am creating this discussion post for fellow Canadian students to ask questions about the application process and for inquiries about navigating the different steps in OLSAS.
