I have been heavily studying for the LdSAT for about 2 weeks now. I have watched part of the videos of the foundations and parts of other important info. After that I have been focusing on drilling. My plan currently: I am just doing drills along with blind reviewing and watching the videos per question I get wrong or right. 5 questions per question type. I start at the medium difficultly until I get at least 4/5 correct, then I increase the difficultly and will start doing prep tests when I feel comfortably with each question type for LR and RC. I was wondering if this plan is good. Is there anything I should add or change.

Also I am focusing the first month on not worrying about timing and then will starting timing my drills when I feel ready. Any advice on when I should start timing myself per drill?

I cannot find my notebook containing all my notes from the core curriculum, and was wondering if anyone had written down the recurring cookie cutter themes for the science passages (low resolution summaries). I vaguely remember there being like three separate themes with the one as follows: paragraph one containing two competing hypothesis then the second paragraph being an observation that might support one hypothesis over the other and so forth. If anyone could please help me out it would be greatly appreciated!!!!

So I just took PT 132 (new format) and I am frustrated because I recognized almost all of the LR questions either from drills or JY's video lessons. It is my understanding that these "new" tests are just sections from old tests put together for the sake of practicing the new format, but these are the same old tests that 7sage pulls from for lessons. Obviously you cannot preview the test before starting it, and I want to know that the test I will be taking is entirely new beforehand since I feel like that test is now entirely useless in assessing my score.

Is there any way to know which of these new tests are actually comprised of all clean questions? Has 7sage looked into this and created a way to avoid this issue? Has anyone else experienced this and found a way around it?

Hi all,

I've been studying for about 5 months, testing 154, would like to get to the 160s. Shooting for November LSAT. Struggling a lot with my overall pacing, especially on RC. My weak areas in LR are SA, PSA, and Flaw. I work full time but try to get at least an hour in per day, some days more, 5 days a week. If anyone would like to join me in studying or just share any advice you have found helpful, please feel free. Just been feeling stuck, and like my studying is not leading to improvement. Thanks so much in advance!

Hello. I have noticed that the Law School Admissions Predictor appears to overestimate my chances of getting into some of the listed law schools. For example, there is one school in which I supposedly have a 69% chance (likely target) of getting accepted, although I am below both medians for LSAT and GPA. With this in mind, should I continue to utilize the Law School Admissions Predictor in narrowing down the list of law schools that I should apply to this fall?

I currently live in Indianapolis, IN. However, if anyone plans on taking the September LSAT, I am looking for a small group to hold each other accountable and help one another prepare. Reach out to me if you happen to be interested!!!!

I was wondering if there was a way to take a 3-section test similar to the one they offered with the last format. I essentially just want to take a PT with RC LR LR, just complements my studying style better

I am starting a Discord group of people scoring 165+ with the primary purpose of doing blind review calls (everyone takes the same section of a test and we all discuss it before knowing what the answers are - essentially we blind review together) at least twice a week. Of course other discussions are welcome on the Discord as well.

Why BR calls? I believe that BR calls give an opportunity for lively discussion about not only questions, but technique. Presumably, we will all have our own areas of weakness and strength, and thereby ways we can both assist, and be assisted by, each other.

Why 165+? I realize this comes off as arrogant, and that 165+ is a very small percentage of people, but my sincere belief is that having similarly scoring people will keep the conversations largely relevant to everyone. I believe that someone scoring in one bracket versus another is likely to have significantly different topics that they should likely be focusing on. For whatever it is worth I'm averaging a 171 over the my last 5 pt's.

If interested please send me a private message - if you have any questions please respond below.

Thanks for reading and good luck to all in this brutal endeavor, the LSAT.

I always read all the ACs for LR because the extra seconds are worth it to find trick ACs. However, I find that in RC, that is not the case and that those few seconds might be better used understanding the passage. Should I be skipping the ACs when I find the right AC or should I read all the ACs before selecting an AC?

I also want to add that I am working exclusively through old PTs (PT1 through 30). I am not ready to use the new ones as I am not at a level where I want to waste those questions.

Hello all,

I am wondering how everyone knows the question is a type 2 MC question where the stem doesn't have a conclusion, since a lot of times the stem seems like it does... For example, PT116.S3.Q14 seems like the first sentence is the conclusion, and then the following sentence is a counter-point to the conclusion. The last sentence after that then reaffirms that the original conclusion could be true.

Any advice?

Ahead of sitting the LSAT at a testing center on the August test date, and it seems that the argumentative writing section is exclusively conducted online. The best I can do currently is a long office, with a blackboard, and then two large bookcases with boxes piled in front of them relegated to the far corner of the room. Does it seem likely that this room will be acceptable? Might I have to cover the bookcases?

Is there any way to do an environment scan in advance to determine if the room is likely to be acceptable?

My highest score so far has been a 169, and I just got a 176 on my most recent practice test. I'm not sure whether I should trust such a dramatic jump but I'm excited to see what happens from here! It feels like all of the work I've put in is finally starting to pay off!!

I have been studying on and off for the LSAT since January but have really started studying in May. I am registered for the August LSAT but I want to cancel since I am not close to my goal score. My BR is closer to my goal but I struggle a lot with timing.

However, I didn't know if it would be beneficial to take the test to get a feel for what its like to be in the testing center. I know you can score preview and cancel. But I'm not sure how admissions officers view cancellations. I plan to take again in September and then October if needed. I am applying this cycle and now I feel like I am behind. Any advice or help?

I have been doing LR drills with specific question type tags in the obsolete format to make sure I won't use up questions from Current Format prep tests that I will end up taking. (I want scores/analytics for prep tests to be as accurate as possible). Is this an okay way to study and improve? Or do the LR questions differ from obsolete to current format so drastically, that I am actually hurting myself by practicing in this format? #help

I'm taking the September 2024 test in-person, on paper, and was wondering if I was allowed to bring highlighters? I have been using Bailey's highlighting strategies for reading comp and wanted to know if I should be prepared to not be able to do that on the actual exam???

Taking the test in August. Just finished my last practice test and I got a 168, before that a 169, and before that a 167. It feels like I just can't break into the 170 no matter what I do. Should I just be hyper-focusing now on the questions I'm getting wrong and set aside everything else?

Hey everyone! Every time I post a message on one of these forums I never actually get added to anything so I thought I'd make one for myself! Drop your GroupMe ID or Phone Number and I'll make a big study groupchat for us to collaborate on getting the best score possible!

Also considering a Discord, but we can discuss that in the groupme!

Just a suggestion to improve 7Sage: there should be a link to the old PT's explanation page for each question! I often rely on the comments to really solidify my understanding and it would be good if they were integrated into the new format explanations somehow!

Anyone else agree?

Hello all,

It’s safe to say that my GPA isn’t the greatest, and it’s mediocre at best. I finished college with a 3.3 GPA in Political Science, albeit with an upward trend where I was on academic probation the first year of college. I am hoping to achieve a 160 on the LSAT with one year of studying. Does anyone else have a similar GPA with a success story? I’m really hoping I am not putting in work to realize that my chances at law school are bleak. I know the acceptance predictor exists, but I have a hard time believing how accurate it is.

Thanks everyone
