I've had kind of a rough history with the LSAT. My first exam was in Jan 2021. In 2023, I took the exam 3 times (Jan, Aug, October) and then took it in January of 2024. Long story short, I really pressured myself to get a great score for the 2023 cycle and it backfired on me. For the Jan 2024 exam, I received some bad news about my grandma concerning her health before my exam and it severely impacted my performance.

I submitted an appeal to LSAC to register for the August 2024 exam, but they aren't reviewing appeals for the 2024-2025 cycle until registration for the August exam opens. Do I have a chance at getting my appeal approved?

Could anyone kindly give me some advice? My LSAT score is one point lower than the last time. This is my second LSAT taking, and I plan not to take LSAT in the future. So should I cancel my score this time or should I keep it?

Hi,

Since this has no video explanation for it, I want to know whether I fell in line with the rest when I reached that conclusion. In this question, the author argues that butter manufacturers should be allowed to call their products "Can't believe it's not butter or Skim fat butter" to ward off any negative nuances from the term "Imitation butter". This person cites two reasons to back up one's allegation. A) People should be fostered to consume more low fat butter products because of their health concerns, arising from a high cholesterol level. B) This hostile naming like Knock-off/Ersatz could stave potential consumers off from those well-intentioned products owing to their aversion to the names. In that way, the industry could push people to indulge in more butterfat which could pose a threat to their health (esp. cardiovascular). In order to weaken this assertion, I thought it would be better off for me to claim that this aversion could beget more positive results healthwise for those buyers in the market. What if they, finding those suggestive names unbearably repulsive, decided to find the authentic low fat butter products which significantly slashed the fat content? For instance, they would rather find a real McCoy low fat butter, projecting an image of authenticity, instead of phonier butter substitutes, which happened to have less butterfat in it? People who voted for Trump would rather turn to him to gratify their desires, whatever they might be, in lieu of settling down for his miniature, Ron DeSantis, emulating his extreme creeds. I just thought that it was important for me to tackle the author's point that the negative naming could take a toll on public health because it deters people from purchasing the imitation butter which is healthier for them thanks to the low fat content in comparison with the regular ones. Thus, one of the ramifications was supposed to bear the unexpected consequence that made everyone more robust and hale: cutting off the consumption of butterfat more noticeably than what was expected from the fake butter. What are your thoughts on this? I would like to hear from other would-be legal minds. Thanks!

I’m trying to understand the methodology of doing a practice set of let’s say 2 games, then doing them the best you can , then watching the video for explanation. I just feel like I’m doing the same thing of struggling through a game , then watching the video , doing the game over and over again until I get all the inferences. But then I try a new set and I feel like I either do ok or I’m back to struggling. I’ve done so much practice I’m sure I still I haven’t seen all the types of games there are? Sometimes the way the games are worded confuses me where I take extra time upfront to understand the rules so I can draw it correctly. I’m at a standstill at this point and I want to get it right. :/

Just wanted to write this as an appreciation of the service you guys offer. I took my first cold diagnostic and got a 145 at the beginning of October. Just got the January LSAT score today of 160. Didn't have my hopes up initially, but to my surprise got a good enough score to get me into my target schools for next fall. Thanks JY! One thing I will say, as I wasn't one to study religiously, just try to master the logic games while they are still available. I believe the LG are the easiest way to drive your score up, understand the gameboards and different setups. I just drilled LG for 2 weeks and it stuck to me like glue. I guess for anyone looking to improve their score, just try to have fun with the logic games. It is like solving a puzzle and get to a point where you have done the same "puzzle" so much that you can do it with your eyes close. I am not gonna sit here and act like I wasn't awful at LG at first, but JY made it so they were fun. That's mainly my advice, master the LG and make up for missed questions in other sections (my reading comp scores were quite bad haha). Also don't overwhelm yourself with practice tests, I took one a day for the 3 weeks leading up to my LSAT, and found that to be the most helpful solution. Thanks JY and the 7sage team for creating such an easy to use platform, I don't think I would've done remotely as well without it.

If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. The next Proctored PT will take place on Saturday February 3 at 1:00 PM.

Looking forward to the Blind Review sessions on Monday. The links to join are below, and if you have a Live subscription you can access the recordings here for last week's (LR) and (RC) Blind Review classes on PT72. We had fun discussing a not-so-fun topic of theoretical and clinical "equipoise" in that third RC passage. We also picked each others' brains on lots of LR questions, namely that tough Strengthen question near the end of the section about "phenazines," or as we decided to call them, "P's."LSAT hack! Replace long, hard-to-read words with their first letter!

Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

  • Register by clicking the blue ‘Register’ button on this page.
  • Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This week's recommended PT is test 74; you're encouraged to attend the associated Blind Review sessions on Monday! (LR Review | RC Review). You can take the PT through 7Sage, or- if you want to simulate real test-day conditions- you can log into LawHub and take it there.

Show up to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (12:50 PM ET). You will all be prompted to complete a room scan (similar to the test-day security measures) at the same time and then put into a breakout room by yourself to complete the test.

Simulate the test! Our 7Sage Proctors will monitor the testing process for the duration of your test and even simulate a pesky interruption. The Proctor will ask if anyone would like to be interrupted at the beginning of the session, and you will have the chance to indicate your preference. If only the Prometric proctors would be so kind as to ask! If you have any approved accommodations, please let us know via private chat at the beginning of the session as well––you will be able to test with those.

If you have any questions, please email bailey.luber@7sage.com. We hope to see you there!

Hey y'all, I am taking the LSAT in either June or April and would love to have a study group to meet/talk with once a week or so to troubleshoot some questions and just talk about strategies for studying somewhere in the greater Seattle area. I took the test last June(?) and got 16X, and would like to try and bump it into the 170's. Open to zoom/Discord as well if IRL meeting is a bit difficult.

I will give a gist about myself and hopefully you might find me a beneficial study partner.

I am a non traditional applicant (8 years out) and I have taken the exam 2x with my last score at 150. I am PTing in the mid 150s and looking to get somewhere in the 160s . Would like to have a study partner who can commit to 2x week (once during the weekday and 1 weekend day). Preferably someone who is Pting 155 or higher looking to get 160+. My strength is LG than LR than RC. I am ok with zoom or FT.

    Hi all,

Whenever I try to make a drill of 15 or 25 LR questions made from specific PrepTests with all tags highlighted, I get an error stating: "Sorry, we were not able to create a drill based on your criteria. Please try again."

Whenever I do with 15 LR questions, I get the error message above but the drill is eventually created showing up in the "Show Existing Drills" section. A bit of an annoyance, but at the end of the day I get the drill so no harm there.

However, whenever I do it with 25, no drill is created even after a period of time.

I've attached some imgur links showing the criteria I've highlighted for the drills.

For reference, I'm using the latest version of Chrome on macOS 14.1.2.

Any way to fix this or will I have to make my own custom 25 question drills via the advanced builder?

    Thank you!

Lately for my drills for LR, most of the questions I am taking and usually getting right are where other students that scored 165-170 also got right. Does this mean 7-Sage thinks I would also be scoring in this range? I feel like before, the questions I and others got right they had usually scored like a 158-162 or so.

Hey, y’all! I’m taking the February LSAT next Saturday and was wondering what my study schedule should be. I’ve been focusing hard this last month on logic games as I think it can boost my score the few points I want to be able to get in. I’ve been doing about an hour a day or so drilling 3-4 games a day. Should I continue doing this? I feel okay enough about the other sections. My goal is a 150ish. Thanks!

    145 --> 159

I have dreamed of making this post. I finally reached my goal score of 159 on my third writing of the LSAT. 7Sage is by far the best LSAT company overall. The drilling aspect of the website is phenomenal. There is no better way to prepare for the LSAT than drilling, and 7Sage allows students to organize and keep track of drills.

Thank you 7Sage. I have applied to 6 Law Schools and here is hoping I get in. God bless you all.

I’ve been studying for a while (longer than 6 months) and right before the Jan test everything began to really click for me. I was scoring in the high 150s and so close to the 160s consistently. I even became so confident to where I could actually explain why all answers were right/wrong. Y’all I literally started from a 120…anyways I listened to my partner and stopped studying for a few days and I feel like I’ve lost it. I went from -6 on LR to -13, it’s embarrassing. I take feb test soon and I was hoping to break into 160s by then. Help!

    Hello!!!

I'm looking for some study partners!!! I scored a 165 last year and I am trying to get a 170+.

Would love some mutual help/guidance/accountability to make sure I am getting in the study I can. I'm a full time graduate student in music composition at the moment, so it's a bit harder to get to studying than what I would have suspected...please reach out if you are interested! Thanks!!!

Thank you 7sage! It has been a long 2 years, but I am officially thrilled with my final outcome. Best of luck studying everyone! You can do it, it just might take a bit

    Hi everyone,

I have been with 7sage for a couple of months and it's been so helpful. I am able to understand the test well; however, I am struggling with getting the scores I want during a timed test. I am able to correct at least 25 questions more throughout the whole test when untimed. If anyone has thoughts or tips on how I should improve this please let me know. Thank you!!

Hey everyone! I am aiming for a T14 & feel as though my GPA may be lacking / need to be a splitter. To give some background, I graduated in Spring 2021 with a Bachelors in Science & a minor in Chemistry, my CAS GPA came out to a 3.62 - I am a Teach for America Alumni, currently teaching my 3rd year of Chemistry, Forensics & Advanced Forensic Psychology in the Bronx. I have a Master of Art in Teaching and graduated dean's list with a 4.0 (although I know schools don't care much for grad). I am about a month into studying but have not done a diagnostic (I know I know I will soon) so I do not have a score, but I am aiming to break 170 like most. I would not be super disappointed with 165+ either.

I guess my main question is, does my holistic application out weigh my lower GPA (in regard to T14 percentiles) or do I truly need to be a competitive splitter & break that 170 (& not test until I am scoring there)? My goal school is NYU on the next application cycle, especially since I already live in the city - I am not too concerned about scholarship money either.

Heyyy ya'll! When LSAC released the decision of removing the logic games, I decided to hold off until August to take the test. That being said, I've been studying on and off for over a year and have been consistently studying while working a full time job since June. I finished the core curriculum and have been spending my time now drilling RC and LR, PTing, blind review, and wrong answer journal.

I'd love to know what YOU are doing if you are taking August LSAT! How are you divvying up your time? What are you focusing on? How often are you PTing? Any outside recources you are using besides 7sage? I'd love to know, thanks :)

Hi all, I am planning on taking the LSAT in April, June or both and was wondering what the rules are in regard to reading passages/stimuli out loud. I have developed a bit of a habit of doing this when practicing and taking PTs. I was not sure given I have not yet taken a proctored PT or am familiar with the portal conditions. Can anyone speak to this? I figured I would get ahead of this if it is not allowed so I can get rid of the habit.
