I'm confused as to why people think it is easy. The LG and LR was definitely easier than normal but I think the RC made up for the lack of difficulty. I got right around my average score. I'm not sure why people think it's an easy test. Anyone else have thoughts on this?

I've been struggling with Inference (Inf, InfOP, InfAP, InfAA) questions on PTs and need some advice on how to approach/how to practice them/which videos and lessons specifically may be helpful. I generally perform pretty well in RC but inferences have been really a bad area consistently. Would appreciate any advice!!

Hi,

Is there a study guide that lists all the questions on the LSAT and their type. When I answer those LSAT questions, some of the questions can be confusing and I don't know what they are asking. For instance, I did a MSS question but I thought it was a Most Sufficient Question. If I had known it was a MSS question, I would have chosen the right answer choice. If there are resources on that, please let me know.

My university, like many others during the pandemic, has instituted an expanded pass/fail option which gives students an "S" (satisfactory) for any grade between and A-C and "CR" (credit) for a C- to F. Anyway, I have a class that has yet to give me a grade, but is really tough and I am considering going with the pass/fail option just in case it turns out poorly and tanks my GPA. I had read last year that LSAC was reminding schools not to penalize for pass/fail due to COVID and I was wondering if anybody knows if this is still the case. Is it worth having the "S" on my transcript in return for maintaining my GPA, or would a B+ look better even if it drops my average?

Hello!

I am taking the June LSAT and right now on my practice tests my worst section has been LR. I am curious if anyone else has been struggling with LR and is having trouble finding ways to improve specifically on assumption, strengthen/weaken, and flaw questions or overall LR questions. I am curious if anyone would be interested in a weekly small study group where we focus specifically on LR questions and strategies for how we approach them.

If you are interested, please email me at morganhmetsch@gmail.com or direct message on here!

Hello,

I am struggling with keeping in the time constraints I've set for myself during my PTs. I try to remind myself to look at the display timer every time I click on the next question or am going through ACs, but sometimes I am deep in a LG and totally go over time before I've had the chance to look back. I used to use my phone to time myself and it would sit directly in front of me as I took a hardcopy PT.

Since everything is digital, I'm trying to switch up my practices accordingly... But I'm wondering if anyone has used the LSAT analog watches available and would suggest them? I'm thinking that with the watch right next to my sheet of paper, it will be easier for me to keep an eye on the time. Do you think I should invest in a watch - and if so, which one - or do you think monitoring the timer will become easier with practice and would be best to stick to the display timer only?

Would appreciate some advice before I spend the money on a timer that may hinder my studying in some way rather than help! Thank you so much!

What was the whole process of taking LSAT FLEX? If you moved around a little (but still remained in the camera), would they accept that? Is there anything we need to download or do before the exam date? How does the writing sample work? I read from some places, we can take out own time to write the writing sample starting August exam, is this true? Also, what is the best advice during the test date, things to get ready or things to remember?

Any advice would be highly appreciated! - Thanks in advance!

I am aware that it is generally not the best idea to Pass/Fail multiple courses, as it could be frowned upon by law schools. Since many undergrad schools have changed their policies regarding Pass/Fail options, in light of COVID, I have heard a lot of mixed opinions about whether it affects admissions. My university requires that all students take 2 physical education courses, both of which I completed this semester. Essentially everyone takes these courses for credit, opting for a Pass/Fail, or S/U grading option, since they are only one credit hour each and unreasonably difficult to receive an A in. I received a B+ in one class, and a B in the other. These do not bring down my GPA at all, however, if I were to Pass/Fail these classes, my cumulative GPA would increase 0.015 points (0.02 for CAS GPA). I know that the difference between 3.76 and 3.78 seems minuscule, but I am applying to schools in the fall, so this may be my last chance to change my GPA. I only have a week to decide before my transcript is finalized for this semester. Should I Pass/Fail these classes to increase my GPA? Will law schools even care if my transcript shows an "S" for introduction to swim conditioning?

Hi folks,

I'm wondering what to do after I do blind review specifically for RC. For LR and LG, I watch JY's videos for questions I missed even after BR. I usually learn a lot from watching JY's videos and see the error of my logic from when I BR'd. But with RC, I watch JY's videos and don't really learn much. I understand why I got the question wrong, but it doesn't inform how I do on the next RC section. I feel like I'm not getting from it what I need to.

Anyone have advice/tips on what they do for RC review?

Thanks!

Can someone break this down in terms of approaching a stimulus.

For some reason I get these kind of questions correct. Even on the hardest LR questions, I'll resort to POE and somehow get it right. How? I don't know. They are extremely confusing in approaching a stimulus. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I am posting this in LR because LR is something very new and foreign to me and I feel that if I can master LR, RC is going to be a breeze. Now, I know the answer off the bat is going to be "do what feels best for you," focus, and discipline. I completely agree with that sentiment, yet I wanted to see what has worked best for you and why with the entire goal of inspiring others to learn and add new tidbits into their current strategy.

If you do chunking, how many words do you chunk when you read and why does that work for you?

For those of you who don't chunk what works best in your strategy and why?

I have realized that for myself, that I had developed very bad reading habits after leaving college, I've been out a good while so I skim a lot and hardly read as much as I used to. For now, I have gone back to "word by word" reading until I can spot important words while chunking. My goal is to chunk 3-4 words as I read.

Currently, I time out towards question 4/5 leaving me rushing to just pick an answer and pray I got it right. Slowly, I have gone from getting 1 answer right to 3/5 on a good day until I get to the level 4-5 difficulty level questions and then I get 1 or 2 right if I am lucky enough to figure it out, but then time out for questions 3,4,&5.

Looking forward to reading your story.

Thank you for your time,

Alfonso

To attack the premise or not to attack the premise

I keep hearing over and over again that I'm not supposed to attack the premise but this question from the weakening portion of LR seems to do just that. Doesn't answer choice D attack the premise? If the argument concludes that it couldn't be the case that the cave paintings depicted the current diets of the painters since they must have needed to eat sea animals during the long journey there, wouldn't D attack that premise since it's saying maybe not?

LR AP

Can someone explain what claim does AC E imply? Is "claim stated earlier" is subsidiary conclusion (1st sentence), or "since dog breeders try to maintain.....) Thank you!

Hi everyone!

I am going to be taking the LSAT-Flex for the first time in June, and am hoping to only have to write it this one time. Accordingly, I have been trying to do as much studying and reviewing as possible between now and then. My average score has been fluctuating quite a bit, ranging from 160 - 170.

I recently completed PrepTest 87 (June 2019) and finished with a score of 164. However, I am having difficult understanding some of the questions I got wrong. I have listened to some explanation videos, but am failing to see why the multiple choice answer I chose is not "more right" than the correct answer.

If anyone could explain any of the following questions, I would really appreciate it (specifically, why the answer I chose is incorrect).

S1 - RC: #3, 11, 13, 14, 24.

S2 - LR: 14, 17, 18, 19, 24, 26.

Thank you!

Am I the only one who would totally pay for this? LG has always been my favorite section because I love logic puzzles (even on the days they don't love me.) And since LSAC is looking to change this section of the test, I would like these puzzles to do in my spare time. Especially since if I manage to get my goal score on the first try, I may never get to see some of the infamous games I haven't had a chance to try yet.

Hi everyone,

I am late to the game and I am using this summer to tackle studying for the LSAT, and taking the August exam.

I know this is an overly ambitious plan of attack but sadly I do not have many other options.

That being said, does anyone have any tips or advice on how I should approach this?? I am not sure if I am better off trying to complete all of the foundational material and lessons, or skipping around or what.

I do not have enough time to complete all 900+ hours of the program before August, so that being said any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

As of now, I am getting through the foundations and then going to begin incorporating the practice tests and such starting mid June, and then from there out switch between the foundation and practice. Not sure if this is the best approach though.

Thank you ! And Goodluck to everyone !

Hello hello,

I was hoping I could find some generous hearts to tutor me for free? I've noticed some posts on the forum and I thought to give it a shot and ask! I'd love to hear from you.

If you are interested I would be more than happy to give more info about me.

Talk soon!

Hi,

I'm really struggling with author's inference questions in RC. Does anyone remember if a specific lesson covered this? Or if anyone has a helpful approach, I would be so grateful :)

I am completely underwater with this section, I don't get it at all. I have review the lessons and still don't understand and now looking online. Any tips? Please help

When doing parallel flaw questions, if the stimulus contains "some," will there ever be a correct parallel flaw answer choice that contains "most" instead of "some"? Or are the two situations different enough that you'll never see a correct parallel flaw with the word "most" in it?

Thanks!!!

Hello everyone,

I have been studying the LSAT for the last year and have been working on my foundations. I began consistently PTing two months ago and my current stats are 160-165 for PTs and 170-179 for BR. My average PT score breakdown is -2 for LG, -6 for LR and -8 for RC. RC is by far my most volatile section. I want to spend the next few months closing the gap between my PT and BR score. I have a drilling schedule for LG. For those who have been in a similar situation, what helped you the most in bridging the gap? What are your recommendations for LR and RC specifically?

Thanks!
