Wondering if anyone in the nyc area is interested in starting a study group. I usually go to the library in midtown every weekend to study but I think it would be really helpful to have a small group to exchange strategies with/take practice tests with. message me if ur interested!

Really struggled with this question in terms of understanding the QS and choosing between A and D (specifically, why A isn't right). Could someone correct my understanding?

Stim:

profit --> build more rooms or improve existing

My thinking: So if there's no ability to increase profits, then hotel owners are either unable to build more rooms (which stim states) and/or unable to improve existing rooms

This question is a fill in the blank, so we're looking for a most strongly supported AC.

ACs:

A: Struggled a lot with this AC - it almost seemed like a necessary assumption because sure, even if hotel owners can't build more rooms, what if their rooms are at 10% occupancy right now? They'd be able to increase profits if they upped the occupancy rate to 100%.

B: Wrong. How would we know if they are maxed out when it comes to attractive location? Stim doesn't tell us this

C: Wrong. Cost of labor? came from left field

D: Initially chose this answer and then went back to A. My thinking here originally was: Alright, so hotel owners can't build more rooms, but they have another lever. Could they do some renovations and charge the rooms higher so they can make a profit? But, this AC shows that the hotels are already maxed out when it comes to improvement so they're really just...stuck.

(but then I came back again to this question and thought, well, what if the rooms aren't actually maxed out so then I kept bouncing back and forth between A and D) :(

E: Wrong. How do we know this/what would this even do to drive towards the fact that profits aren't increasing?

Hey just wanted to reach out to see if anyone else in the community had issues with taking the October LSAT. The first time I tried to test, the system stopped working in the middle of the exam and I couldn't finish. I sent emails, called, and reported an issue with the exam and rescheduled. Then when it came time to retest, the proctorU system indicated that the original exam, that I couldn't finish, somehow processed as completed as scheduled. So I was unable to take the retake as scheduled. I reached out to LSAC to see how this can be resolved, but I've heard nothing back yet. I'm a little worried they could snub me on the money I paid, as well as the exam attempt. Was anyone else unable to take the October 2021 LSAT because of multiple technical issues with LSAC and ProctorU?

Why is there no such thing on YouTube? Generations of future lawyers will thank whoever comes up with one of these...

I have 9 recent PT's left that I plan to take before the November 11th LSAT. Would it be ideal to have all of them except maybe one or two done before the final week leading up to the LSAT? That way I'd have completed all the material and can focus solely on review that week. Or is it better to just keep at my current pace and not switch to primarily review the final week. I haven’t received a response from 7Sage about my switch to the V2 version of the core curriculum, so I’ll share my thoughts here. I am a little over 64% done with the LR section in the V1 version. I wrote down a list of the question types I did on V1 and what I have left. So I clicked the “complete” option on the ones I did for V1 on V2, and that left me with 6 question types compared to 9. Do you think I went about that correctly?

Also, the foundations section for V2 has a lot more lessons than V1, but I was thinking of clicking the “complete” option for the foundations section and just come back to specific lessons for questions I get wrong. Is that a valid approach?

Also, does V2 use more recent questions? What happened to the problem sets and using problems from tests 1-35?

I would appreciate any help!

So everyone who does well on the lsat specifically on LR tells me there are patterns. What are these patterns that I should look out for?

I have taken the LSAT before in a testing center (when they first became available again after COVID). I plan to take the June 2024 LSAT and am thinking of taking it remotely because I feel like in the testing center, I was distracted and it caused me even more stress, especially since it was not the same as my study area. So, for those who have taken the remote LSAT, what was that like? I know I have heard some horror stories but I do not know if that was the testing experience for the majority of test takers.

I had originally chosen AC C because I didn't carefully read the "that is not based on coconut oil" portion, so now I can see how D is correct.

However, if C had said "Nondairy coffee lighteners made with coconut oil..." - would that have made it a strengthening AC? It seemed like the stimulus was trying to allude to the fact that maybe fat has a stronger impact on cholesterol levels than cholesterol themselves.

I just received this email from LSAC: "We are writing to let you know that your recent LSAT session is currently being reviewed, along with others, for an incident that was recorded during the administration of the test. Please be assured that your session is intact and your test answers have been recorded properly."

Has anyone else gotten this? Are they just telling me because my score will come out late or are they trying to set the stage to tell me they have invalidated my test for some reason?

I had originally been scheduled to take the LSAT in June, deferred it until August due to my strengths being in LR and RC, and now am unsure of how to proceed.

I have an extremely firm grasp on the LR and RC and do not wish to study the small, pedantic details for a 2nd and 3rd time because I do not want to get into my head and overthink.

But also I am worried that if I strictly take practice tests for 2 months straight, I will be burned out for when I take the test in August.

Has anyone else experienced this and how did you proceed?

Ok, I did a practice session on the LSAT practice on LSAC. I bombed it spectacularly with 5/23. I have autism and sometimes have problems with testing. Is there any LSAT prep programs that are in person? Thank you

I was wondering when implementing drills into your studying how you guys do it? Should I be trying to drill a specific type of question (i.e like MSS in LR, SA in LR, or Grouping in LG, etc) and don't move on to another question type until you get 100% timed? Or do you move on once you get 100% BR?

Or are there any other strategies that help you guys more?

I am taking April LSAT and I just took PT88 and got score with -6 drop from my usual. I am not too worried about LG -2/-3 is ok for me but I just got like -12 in LR and -15 in RC. I usually get between -6/-9 for LR so I guess 3 more questions I can pass but I usually get -6 on RC with max -9 but with -15 in this RC I don't know what to do anymore.

Has anyone seen this major drop with scores with this PT particularly or maybe few weeks before the actual exam? I took one from the 90s and I didn't even do that bad on it so now I am confused where I lie. My scores have not dropped nor increased (LOL) for like the past few months and I was pretty happy with my score of 159~ 162. I got 153 on this PT so what will be the actual score on the real one? OR is this PT just from hell and I should just burn it and act like it never existed LOLOL

Could someone please help me with interpreting "except" in this sentence?

In order to encourage personal responsibility in adults, society should not restrict the performance of any of the actions of adults or interfere with the likely results except to prevent negative effects on others.

This short premise is originally from PT 69 Section 2 Q15. The way JY interprets except in the sentence is that "if there is interference, then it is to prevent negative effects on others". I understand this logical transition. However, in the syllabus, doesn't he say that "except" is a bi-conditional indicator? So, will we use "except" as a bi-conditional indicator here to translate the logic?
