Hello everyone I was hoping to gain some advice from other people experienced/ currently taking the LSAT. I took the LSAT after 1 month of studying in June 2023 and got a 155. I studied solidly for 2 more months and planned to take the August sitting. Like many of us, I had proctoring issues in the first take of the August 2023 LSAT so I opted for a retake a week later which I also had (less) but still some distracting proctoring issues which lead me to loose focus and completely panic but I still decided to not cancel my score as I was hopeful even though I was completely thrown off I could still do well. My score unfortunately dropped to a 154 which is around 8 points below what I was averaging/ hoping to get on the test day. I have signed up to retake it in October but am unsure about whether I should cancel the August score considering it isn't even that different to my June score and a cancellation could indicate that I actually did far worse than 155. Further, if something goes wrong in October I would hate to have a double cancellation on my application. My current gut feeling is to not cancel it and leave it as is but I would appreciate some advice. Thank you :)

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know about the updates LSAC has made to the LSAT test dates for October and November.
Along with the already announced test dates for October (October 13 and 14), LSAC has now added test sessions on October 15 and 16. LSAC also added more test dates to the November schedule. In addition to the previously set dates (November 10 and 11), there will now be test sessions on November 8 and 9.
The new test dates include both remote and in-person sessions, and this won't affect the score release date!
Whether you're taking the official September LSAT or not, this free event is for you. We are offering Proctored Prep Tests every month this fall, with our first one this Saturday, September 2nd from 1-5 pm ET!
If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. Here's how our Proctored PTs work:
Register using this link: https://7sage.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwocu2trzsjGdRNM5GT3ELED-H67u3gGlHH. Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting! Save that for Saturday.
Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This can be any PT; we recommend one that you haven't seen yet and that is at least as recent as PT 50. You can take the PT through 7Sage, or, if you want to simulate real test-day conditions, you can log into LawHub and take it there.
Show up to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (12:50 pm ET). You will all be prompted to complete a room scan (similar to the test-day security measures) at the same time and then put into a breakout room by yourself to complete the test.
Simulate the test! Our 7Sage Proctor will monitor the testing process for the duration of your test and even simulate a pesky interruption. The Proctor will ask if anyone would like to be interrupted at the beginning of the session, and you will have the chance to privately message your preference. If only the ProctorU proctors would be so kind as to ask! If you have any approved accommodations, please let us know via private chat at the beginning of the session as well––you'll be able to use those.
If you have any questions, please comment below. We hope to see you there!
Senior year of high school I took classes through a local community college for high school and college credit. Should I include this on my resume? The transcript is included in my academic summary report and it was only 18 credit hours. Also, not sure if this has an impact but after this I transferred to another community college to get my AA before transferring for my BA and I've included both of these institutions. Is a third too much? Thanks!
Hey everyone! I took college classes in high school at a community college. I got into UCF right after high school, so they all got transferred to my college transcript. Question: When I submit my transcripts to LSAC, do I submit just one from UCF ( it includes my dual enrollment classes) or do I submit one from UCF and also one from the community college? If yes, will law schools think that I attended community college after high school? Thank you in advance!
Taking the September test next week [remotely] and I have been doing all my studying using my monitor and magic trackpad, I know the monitor will have to go on test day, but I scoured LSAC and Prometric's websites to see if a bluetooth mouse is allowed or not, the interest seems to indicate its fine but most answers are a few years old, so I'm unclear if policies have changed with the times or the new proctoring server.
Any guidance would be super helpful!
Which Lr on pt 88 is the experimental section? Also I average between a -3 and -6 in LG and just got -10 on this pt. I am planning for the sept test and can't really pull out of it. Should this be of concern or are the last 2 games pretty rare?
Hi! The August LSAT was my first time taking it officially, and I got a 174. It's honestly better than I expected. I was pretty confident immediately after testing, but my PT average up to the test date was around 171-172. I was doing PTs every day though so maybe I was burnt out a bit?
I had signed up for the Sept LSAT in case I needed to retake, so by this point if I don't retake, it's not refundable. I've done two PTs since the Aug test, scored 177 and 179. Have also done some drills just to keep myself in the mindset.
Originally, my target is UCLA but I'm definitely open to other T-14. Since I've already paid for the Sept test, I'm wondering if I should just take it or if it'd look bad if I retook after getting 174 on my first time. I'm above all 75th percentile GPAs if that helps.
Thanks for any advice!
I got my first LSAT score from Aug. back today and scored a 172. My original goal for admissions was 173+ and anything below I would retake, but this is just close enough I feel concerned about retaking/tempted to not retake. I’m already registered for October. I'm not sure if it's worth it compared to starting on my essays now and applying in Nov.
I was honestly fortunate to get the score I did. I didn't feel as well-prepared as I could have been study-wise (crammed for 4-5 weeks, totally my bad). I was averaging ~169/170 in the weeks leading to the test, highest PT was 174, BRs 175/6. However, I didn't -0 the LGs on the day-of, which had been my goal and which I am capable of doing on PTs (ran out of time toward end and guess-timated a few Qs on last 2 games).
If I really buckled down in the next month, I think I could do a bit better in Oct. I don't want to have any admissions/scholarship regrets down the line, but I'm just not sure if it's worth what seems to be a few points increase at best. I work 40-50 hours a week, so I couldn't focus on both LSAT prep and essays.
uGPA is 3.77, T3? softs (prev. grad degree, 2-3 years work exp. in policy/law, a few publications). My dream would be to get into NYU for PI, but aiming for T14s in general.
Any advice would be appreciated! (Also s/o to the 7Sage curriculum for even getting me here at all!)
After using 7Sage for the past couple months, I was able to dramatically increase my official score (18 points!) to a 179 on the August test. I'm really appreciative of all the great resources provided (including the amazing podcast from Henry and Aastha). Now all that's left to do is apply!
Basically what the title says. Due to the nature of the environment I study in and I would prefer to read a written explanation for wrong answers. Is this an option on 7S? I know it is on other platforms but for some reason I cannot find a written explanation for answers on here.
TIA!
Hi all,
Any advice or strategies people have undertaken when hitting score plateau, specifically for RC or LR? I consistently hit mid 160s when doing PTs but have been stuck there for weeks now. I already have LG pretty much down (average only 1 wrong) but can't seem to improve on the other two sections. I'm signed up for the October exam and would like to improve by around 5+ points. Really appreciate any help!
I'm going through the Main Conclusion and Most Strongly Supported lessons, and in the problem sets I see I have the option to pin questions.
If I pin a question, what good does that do? Can I see all my pinned questions somewhere?
Why is it that the questions in problem sets pull from PrepTests beyond PrepTest35? I thought they only pulled from 1-35 to keep newer tests fresh!
How can I make it so that the problem sets only pull from Test 1-35? There was a previous post where someone from Student Service said that problem sets only pull from 1-35, but this is clearly wrong!!!!!
Hi All,
I am trying to aim at the low 160s and I seem to get a handful of 2/3 LR Questions wrong in my PTs. I am drilling the first 15 LR Qs (15 min for 15 Qs) and wondering if yall have tips of mastering these "easier" Questions compared to 4/5 Star LR ones.
Greetings, 7Sagers!

Hi All,
I just started studying for the LSAT. I believe I’m a potential splitter because I graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors at the University of Washington with a GPA of 3.98 and my GPA at community college was 3.37 hence the average GPA of 3.67. I was also the training and resources coordinator of universities club council and the vice presidential of national honor society at UW. For a year now, since I’ve graduated, I’ve been working full-time at a municipal court as a judicial specialist.
I’m trying to get 170+ to get into the T15. My blind was 156. Idk if that’s possible. I’m studying 5-6 hrs every Saturday and Sunday. I’m not sure if I should (if I’m able to) study more if I intend to take the Oct/Nov LSAT and get preferably a 175. I am willing to extend the test date for the score but it’s a last resort given I don’t want to stay at my job.
I also regret not asking for letters of recommendation from my professors when I graduated last June. I was scared to ask them although I had made good impressions. Now I’m not sure if they remember me after a year and idk how to specifically approach the “asking” email.
Should I spend lots of time on each email to each professor and demonstrate what I learned and what I valued about the experience in their class and them as a professor and attach assignments completed with feedback from prof and my resume? I read the lesson on how to ask for a recommendation - but i don't think it’s enough.
I’m interested to know how you asked your professors for recommendations. Was it short and sweet or lengthy and in-depth. Why did you chose to do it one way vs. another.
Also, I have a professor I plan to ask that got her J.D from Harvard. Should I ask her to write one for Harvard and one for general applications? I know I’m looking really ahead here.
Hi everyone,
The LSAC provided an update regarding the issues that occurred during the August 2023 administration of the LSAT, specifically concerning remote testing. The LSAC apologizes for the problems, citing a mix of staffing, infrastructure, and technology issues at Prometric, the selected proctoring vendor. While in-person testing went smoothly, remote testing encountered numerous delays on the first day, affecting many test takers.
To remedy the situation, the LSAC is offering affected students the opportunity to complete their August test, move to a future administration, or receive a full refund. Additional testing days have been scheduled for August 19 and 20, with the option for affected test takers to test in-person or remotely. They are also instructing affected individuals to file formal complaints through their LSAC.org accounts by August 14.
The LSAC are committed to resolving the issues with Prometric and have expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused. They stress that it's their responsibility to ensure a smooth testing experience and will continue to work to eliminate these issues.
If I purchase the LSAT Live course but I want to switch to Live course plus tutoring, is it possible to switch midway through?
Hi there,
I do not have access to the new V2 beta curriculum. Is there any way I could get access to it?
Thanks!
Anyone else unable to see their LSAT score or get a hold of LSAC. My score appears blank on all devices. I’ve been re-loading it for hours.
I have an absent and a 159 on file.
Took the August 2023 LSAT, just got a 157 and cancelled it.
I currently have the September LSAT scheduled, and I will be taking the October one too.
However, if I score worse than 159 in September, I would have to cancel it again. My file would look like absent-159-cancel-cancel
Should I take the September LSAT or should I reschedule it to October?
I believe I have until 31st 11:59pm ET to both reschedule to October and to register for October. Am I correct?
Thank you all so much.
Hey, y’all. I took the LSAT in August and my score came back today with a 140. It’s not what I wanted, but it’s also not the worst that it could have been. I’m shooting for a 155 and want to retake it in a couple of months.
What’s the best strategy from here to prepare for a retake? Thanks!
Im not sure what to do. I have been averaging 168-170 on pts on this site for 1-2 months but my actual score for the august one was in the low low 160s. Why is this the case??? What am i doing wrong??? Are the 7sage tests somehow scored differently?
I went from 168 in June to 171 this Aug exam. uGPA is 3.96, T3 soft (1-2yrs of WE in tech company), nURM (East Asian non-US citizen), with two degrees. I'm signed up for September exam which is right around the corner but I think even if I retook, the max I could score is 173. I've also exhausted every single practice exam so not sure what to use anymore for resource...
Dream school is Berkeley (median for 2023 cycle was 170; 3.83) - planning on applying ED but not sure if 171 is enough as the median was 171 in 2022 cycle but dropped to 170
