Hey guys, i'm wondering how people are planning on balancing their LSAT studying with prepping for applications. For context, I took the June test and got a 160, im hoping to take again in October to boost that as much as possible then have my application done in early November. Alot of things ive read and heard say not to wait until after your score to start apps cause they tend to take longer than you think to get through. Also, I am working full time so I really need to plan a course of action to not over commit myself. Any advice on how yall are metering your application essays while still grinding for the LSAT?

Hi everyone! I am a rising senior in undergraduate and am really hoping to go straight into law school. However, many advisors and peers have told me that taking a gap year and working in a legal profession is almost always recommended for boosting chances of admission to most T14s. I have been working part time with an attorney since junior year of college, so technically I have legal work experience, but it is not "official" as it was an internship. Would this experience be enough to count as legal work experience, or do I really need a gap year? Moreover, are gap years with legal work experience really that important for admissions? Are there any schools in particular that really really prefer students with gap years? I am seriously so stressed about this, so any responses would be SO appreciated-thanks!

This is a weakening question type. The argument is stating that Bruno must have been a spy, the premise says that the spy was the only clergyman working at the embassy at that time. The assumption to make the argument week must be A, cause its stating that Bruno was no longer a clergyman once he started working at the embassy.

🔢 I'm currently scoring: 155. 162 after blind review

📆 My planned test date: September/October

📈 To study, I have been: I just finished the core curriculum. I want to do a section or PT and review with a group.

🔑 My goals for this group are: To hold each other accountable and learn new ways of thinking that could help me improve my score.

🔍 We'll focus on: Logic games mainly but I was thinking of maybe alternating sections every week and discussing any questions we have from all sections.

📚 When we'll meet and what we'll do: I am looking for people that can meet at least one weekday per week after 7PM PST. We can decide the exact date/time later.

Hi guys! I've recently had an issue and just wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem/knows how to work towards solving it.

I'll do fine on practice sections, I typically get around 5 wrong, give or take a few. Im doing these under the normal timed conditions as well.

But when it comes to the actual PT itself (which I try my absolute best to adhere to actual test conditions in) I'm always scoring in the lower end of the 150's.

I don't know if this is test anxiety, mental fatigue, or what. I'm just posting this to see if anyone else has had this issue so I don't feel completely crazy, and also seeing if anyone who's had this issue has found a way to fix it.

Thanks! :)

clean copies

when JY says to print "ten clean copies" of games in order to memorize the inferences of games, which games is he talking about? just the games featured in the videos in the LG core curriculum? or is he talking about those AS WELL as the games in the problem sets? and if hes also talking about the games in the problem sets, how many of those is he talking about?

i like the idea of doing a game repeatedly and unremittingly until ive memorized it. i just dont know on which games im supoosed to be practicing this strategy. thank you

Why is E the right answer and not A?

In the United States proven oil reserves —the amount of oil considered extractable from known fields—are at the same level as they were ten years ago. Yet over this same period no new oil fields of any consequence have been discovered, and the annual consumption of domestically produced oil has increased.

Which one of the following, if true, best reconciles the discrepancy described above?

A) Over the past decade the annual consumption of imported oil has increased more rapidly than that of domestic oil in the United States.

E) Due to technological advances over the last decade, much oil previously considered unextractable is now considered extractable

I chose E but struggled between that and the correct answer C. I focused on the idea that she was a "competent mechanic" and therefore her opinion in this scenario was founded however in the second piece of evidence provided it was less clear whether or not she was a competent judge and therefore how could those two be related. However I can see that the two scenarios are not related whatsoever which is why C is correct.

Ok I understand why the answer I marked, C was incorrect, specifically because of the last part of the sentence says "some clearly never were". However, the correct answer choice, option D also confuses me because it says that small amounts of the Co2 entered the soil from the atmosphere. The confusing part in all this is that the premise says the plants make the Co2 and put it into the atmosphere, so I do not understand completely why option D is correct. I understand why my answer of option C was incorrect, however.

any tips and tricks for making it through the 2 LR sections? i find myself losing concentration even halfway of just 1 timed full section. i don't experience this type of burnout during RC and not as much with LG. when i drill LR with 5-10 questions at a time, i don't have as much of an issue with focusing and accuracy. but as soon as i do an entire timed section, i find myself messing up even early on in the section. i must just be overwhelmed by the mass amount of varying subject matter in LR

B, to me, seems as the right answer. Can someone explain to me why is it D?

Hello,

I had a question about conditional logic in the LR section. How often should I be translating into conditional logic? Is this something I’m supposed to hold in my head or should I actively translate the statements onto paper? Should I be doing this a lot early on in my studies and less over time! Please help!

What am I missing?

The answer for this question does not make sense.

After multiple reviews, I understand why B conflicts with information in the passage. I do not understand why answer choice D does not. I see it as, if reporting became more accurate, then there is an alternate reason for why the incidence of injuries changed between 1950-1980. Please help and let me know where the flaw in my logic is. Thanks!

Logic Games HELP

Logic games has consistently been my weakest point. I find that I have developed a sort of "block" to them (when I get to that section I freeze and almost immediately give up). I can understand them for the most part when watching videos and follow along, but it becomes a problem when I attempt to do a drill. Does anyone have any suggestions to help this? I have tried reteaching myself game board set ups multiple times but I still do not feel confident in HOW they should be. Any encouragement or advice would be much appreciated!

Hi everyone, I made a discord server for those studying for the September test who want a platform to discuss their prep with others! Just a note, if you're going to be posting help for preptest questions, please just denote which preptest it's from and add a spoiler tag so no one has any of the newer preptests spoiled for them.

This is the link:

Can we go over why it is not A? I switched from A to E but I am trying to reason out why A is wrong rather than my reasoning right now which is that E is better than A. Is it because A doesn't have a conditional which results in the daughter not protecting the life. A seems to focus on protection of life but the MP of the stimulus is listening to the father's wishes which the stimulus in E highlights.

Hi,

I am looking for a partner for motivation. I have already gone through the material, and I am mainly doing practice tests now but due to some family circumstances, I've been finding it difficult to keep my motivation and focus on consistent studying. Here is a general outline of what I was thinking:

  • Main purpose: making sure to get through as many practice tests as possible before test day, and also not feel alone in this journey!
  • We do the same practice tests on our own, at whatever time of the day, and we set up a meeting time at the end of the day to share our results with each other and strengths/weaknesses on the practice tests.
  • Let me know if this is something that works for you!
