Hello everyone! Is anyone looking to start a study group for the August LSAT test date? I'm looking to see if anyone would like to form a group to go over RC sections, as well as PT's. Let me know if anyone would be interested and we can start a group. Happy studying and we got this!

Hey 7 Sage Community!

The course has been very helpful and I started from a 143, on my first diagnostic to the early 160s (180-163) range. I'm starting to hit a slump where I don't really know how to progress as of a week ago. Does anyone have any overarching strategies they've used to break through their slump periods? I'm hoping to get out of this slump, even if it's by one point. Testing Date: August 2021.

Thanks!

Hi! I have been doing older PT (1990s) and I was wondering if I should just focus on more recent ones (2007 -->) . I am planning on writing my test in August. I have read that that later tests are harder but I have been scoring significantly better on those than in older tests. Any recs? or should I study both.

Hi everyone! I am applying to law school this upcoming cycle and have some concerns regarding what to include on my resume. I've done a lot of work on social media [YouTube] to promote my experience at my current undergrad institution [I essentially post weekly vlogs and advice videos geared mainly towards out of state students like myself who may not know much about my college prior to applying/enrolling]. It's something that I'm really proud of, but I'm worried that talking about social media roles may come across as unprofessional to admissions. Any advice? I have other relevant and more professional experience that I'm including, but I feel like I would be missing something if I didn't mention my social media experiences at all.

Thanks for the help!

hi all! i'm struggling with overconfidence errors in RC – my range for timed RC goes from -3 to -6, and during BR, i usually only manage to catch half of the errors. today i took preptest 71, got 5 wrong in timed RC, and didn't catch any of them in BR, so i'm a bit concerned.

most of my mistakes stem from falling into trap ACs, while the others seem to be coming from, oddly enough, some level of underconfidence (?) i.e. i look at an answer, think "no way that's it," and pick another answer after overanalyzing, only to find out my initial guess was right. in any case, i finish RC with around 2-3 minutes to spare, so i think i'm having some serious issues with accuracy. i've tried using the remaining time to come back to flagged questions and review the stimulus again, but i still get them wrong. that, or the questions i get wrong aren't ones i flagged.

any advice on how to study would be appreciated; for what it's worth, i'm taking the august test. thanks so much!

edit: forgot to mention i write out VIEWSTAMP for each passage on scratchpaper, if that's helpful.

Hi all!

I recently took the June LSAT, and I scored a 158 - right in my PT range (155-161), so I was happy with the score. I currently work as an engineer, and we are back in the office now that most in the company are vaccinated, so I do not think I will have as much study time to improve my score as I did for the June LSAT. I graduated undergrad in 2020 with a 3.64 in civil / environmental engineering. Are my odds good enough for a scholarship to law school? Any advice would be much appreciated. You guys rock!

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone tried to solve the game using multiple game boards? It seemed do-able to try splitting game boards, but I keep going down a rabbit hole with too many options and especially, for the last question, seems like several answer choices are possible if I look at my boards.

Any suggestions welcome!!

Thank you,

Megha

I got a 155 on my last practice test with a 170 on my blind review...huge difference I know. Any advice on how to close the gap? This just proves I KNOW the material. I KNOW how to approach the questions. I need help with timing and making sure I can preform my best in the time allotted. Has anyone gone through this and figured out a strategy for turning your BR score into your actual?

Please help.

hi! I am scheduled to take the test in August and October. I don't think I'm ready to take it in August, would I be able to cancel that test? I know I wouldn't get my money back, but I don't want to take it if I'm not ready. Or am I forced to take it in August?

Hey guys,

I'm going over the Sequencing Games w/a Twist and after studying the board set-ups I can't seem to figure out the problem sets. Some of the problem sets are Grouping + Sequencing games and I haven't even gone over that lesson yet. Is it normal that I'm confused? What can I do to get better at just simply making the boards? After I make the boards I whizz through the questions.

Hello Everyone!

I graduated grad school in 2018 and I have not been in touch with any of my professors in either undergrad or grad schools.

Most law schools I’m looking into require at least 2 letters. I have one mentor from my previous workplace who is happy to write a letter for me.

Should I get my second letter from my grad school professor or management at my current workplace? My concern for both is the ‘lukewarm’ recommendation letter from

  • professor because we haven’t been in touch for so long
  • management because of the thought that I want to switch industries completely so I haven’t been or am no longer invested in the projects at work
  • Any advice on this or how to reconnect with professors in school would be appreciated!!

If you can achieve mastery when practicing under difficult conditions (i.e., lesser time than allotted), then you can surely excel and feel confident, relaxed, get in the flow when you have beneficial conditions

Work will always expand to fill the time allotted.

-Even when I added the extra 50% to my practice, it still took me more than the time allotted (52 minutes.).

-Scores are fairly consistent unless you're rushing haphazardly. I found that when I reduced my allotted time from 52 min. down to 35 min., I began to receive the same score per section as before.

Just some things I found helpful!

    Hi all,

I am fully vaccinated and now that libraries are open again are there any people in the NYC that would like to form a study group for the November exam. I am also happy to work with people who are taking it earlier. I am PTing in the low 160s and really trying to get to the high 160s at least. I have taken the LSAT before and really want to get it right this next time :)

I'm wondering if I should consistently be taking all 4 sections of PT's (not only for building test stamina) but because I've heard that one LR is usually harder than the other? Is this true? I've looked at the LR scores of full PT's that I've taken, and on 50% them I scored significantly better on one section than the other, but in the other 50% I scored roughly the same on either section. Does this mean some of the higher scores that I've gotten on Flex PT's have been skewed because I happened to only take the easier LR section?

Would you commute 1.5 hours (3 hours total a day) if you got a 50%-60% ride? Or would you stick to a 20 minute commute for a 30% ride? We have a Chevy volt so gas really isn't a huge issue.

I am following the schedule of the for the October 2021 test. While reviewing the weekly curriculum I noticed that after week 5, I start taking 5-6 LSAT's a week up until test day. Is this recommended? I feel like it takes me at least two days to take a test, blind review, and watch/review explanations to any missed questions. Not sure I would have enough time to do that many in one week. Thanks!

Hey ya'll, I'm consistently between -5 and -1 on LG sections while I'm PT'ing, but hitting that -0 either in drills or BR... Do you have any tips for closing the gap? How do I manifest the knowledge I knowI have from BR into the actual game? I've been foolproofing games 1-35, but any constructive tips (maybe it's time to move out of the oldest psets) would be useful! Should I be focusing on timing now?

Prior to 7Sage, I used Princeton Review and Khan Academy. Both of these resources did not limit their examples to PT 1-35 like 7Sage did. I've been working my way through the tests but I've found myself remembering portions or even entire sections of a test. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to do when I find myself remembering RC passages or LG sections or LR questions?

    Hey all,

I have time to work with 1-2 more students a few times per week this summer. 1L expanded my ideologies about the test and its importance. More about my background can be found on the tutoring page here:

Update: My inbox filled up more than expected and I no longer have openings. However, I am always willing to offer insights about the test or admissions process via DM. Happy Studying!
