I am currently a junior in undergrad and plan to volunteer with the AmeriCorps for a couple of years after graduation. As a result, I'm not totally sure how to go about obtaining/asking for letters of recommendation. Is it reasonable to ask a couple of my undergrad professors if they could go ahead and write me letters of recommendation and just save them for a couple of years? Would it be better to ask them to write a letter of rec now and ask if they could update it in a couple of years when I need it? I just don't want to get two or three years out of a professor's class then ask them to write me a letter because I know they may struggle to remember specific details. Any response/assistance is appreciated, as I have no idea how to go about this!

When is it appropriate to add optional statements? For example, the Rutgers application has an option to upload additional documents about work experience, volunteer experience, anything to add to your application.

I feel like everything is covered in my application, personal statement, and resume. Is it bad that I don't add anything extra? Feel like it would just be listing my resume all over again.

So a lot of people seem to get through their questions quickly and then go back to check/confirm/unflag numerous answers later.

my question is: why not make sure you got them right the first time before moving on? (without getting too fixated on any particulsr question)

I imagine if you have time to go back and check more than 3 flagged or skipped answers in total, you're moving too fast, skimming answer choices etc.

for arguments sake, I finish sections on time and go -2 (good day/section) to -4 (bad day/ section)

I just started studying the beginning of this month and so far I have been going through the core curriculum. I recently saw on a comment thread that there are problem sets as well (I am unsure how I missed this). I was wondering if anyone would share how they study, whether they do problem sets after each section in the core curriculum or any suggestions as to how I may use this course in the most effective manner. I am feeling overwhelmed with all the content and am scared that I am not using it correctly/getting the most out of it. Any help would be appreciated.

This sesh is more for people who are targeting the Feb/April test, and is generally geared towards all skill ranges, but primarily focused on beginners. If you were on the discussion forum a few months ago, you may have seen this post before - the lesson is essentially going to be the same thing, but do stop on by if you want to do any review on formal logic or LR approaches.

I'll be holding the session on Wednesday 9PM EST. It should go on for around 1.5-2hrs, or so, and I'm going to be covering, roughly, the following topics:

Afterwards, I'll be going through an LR section and talking through my approach, while also taking questions. If you want to follow along, please have PT20 S1 in hand.

After poring over more than two hundred applications, we're proud to announce the winner and runners up of the 7Sage 7K scholarship. Every single applicant was deserving, but the seven ten we chose moved us deeply. We think the world will be a better place when they earn their law degrees.

The winner of the 7Sage 7K scholarship is Reo Hayashizaki. (Reo preferred that we use her full name instead of her username.)

Is there any difference between the two? If there is, could anyone give an example of how that would look?

For example:

Premise: A->B

Conclusion: B->A

I feel like the flaw here is both that it confuses a sufficient condition for being necessary, and that a necessary condition is sufficient.

Does the order of the language make a difference?

I still am working on the base course work, but I find I am running behind a bit on my study schedule. Should I aim to complete the entire course with all the prep tests before I take the LSAT?

How did you describe academic honors on your application (dean's list specifically)? There is not enough room to write what I want, so wondering what other people put?

How do you approach studying for logic games? Do you expose yourself to one new logic game at a time, and then keep repeating it to master it? Or do you do as many logic games as you can, and pocket all the ones you had difficulty on to come back later to work on them?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tutors on this site for helping with the Reading Comprehension section specifically, although probably with LR and LG, too. For whatever reason, RC is the section I was struggling with the most and was looking for someone who could help me out. Thanks!

I felt this exam went horribly for me. I guessed on far more questions than I am used to guessing on when taking PTs. I started with LG and was overwhelmed. This bled into my LR section where I ended up guessing on about 8 questions. Plus, I felt unsure on about 5 more questions. My last section was RC. Fourth passage was difficult and ended up guessing on about 7 questions. Even if I did get some of those questions correct, I feel that amount of uncertainty will lead to a lower score than what I earned on the Nov. LSAT.

Is this a sign that I should cancel?

Whether or not my score improved this morning, I'm done with my journey here. Just wanted to say thanks to the community here and to JY - I ended up on 7sage after consistently bombing LG and after 4 months of diligent fool proofing I finished my flex this morning fairly confident in my LG score.

I'm a Tuesday test taker, just wanted to wish everyone else good luck. Remember to stay steady, focused and, consistent! Don't rush through the questions simply because it's test day. Do whatever you normally do on your practice tests - we've got this!

Hello everyone!

I was just curious if resume matters for top law school admission. I'm still studying LSAT, but just wondering if it is important. Without many/outstanding working (or internship) experiences, does it matter to get into good law schools?

(I know.. hard numbers like LSAT score and GPA are obviously more important.. haha)

I noticed a significant score drop in the 80s PTs, does anyone have any advice for adjusting to this era? I was scoring in 170s for 50s but am back to mid 160s in the 80s. Would love some tips. Thank you!

help!!!! i just tested my equipment for my exam today and it says my RAM is too high. it was at 94%. i was connected to a live representative and they told me to restart my computer and clear my cookies and now it's at 98%!

In the Curriculum, under the section titled "Resources for Taking Simulated LSATs," there used to be an audio file you could play that would be timed for a 4 or 5 section test, and include a voice over simulating the proctor (who would say you have five minutes remaining etc.). I can't seem to find the file and I'm wondering if it's been removed. Anybody else know where I can find it/gain access to it again? I've been using it when I take my practice tests to try to mimic what the actual experience might be like. Thanks!
