Yet another person who thinks Steve Schwartz went to Columbia Law School. Can't even blame him for the "creative" wording in his bio, because clearly it's working.
I would say visit them too the vibe is VERY different between the two. I thought I would LOVE LOVE LOVE Columbia and it was my dream school, turns out, it wasn't a fit at all and NYU, which I didn't think I fit into, is now my goal/dream school.

Most schools that I've seen have prompts/allow for optional essays. You should write an optional essay if you have something to say. If you don't have anything meaningful to write about, then that essay is, at best, not going to help you.
