I am thinking of doing free reading comprehension tutoring by using passages from older practice tests. Let me know if any one of you is interested in joining me.
I do want to put it out there that I am doing this primarily for my own good because RC happens to be my weakest section. My average for LR is -1.5 but RC is -5 at the moment. So I need to focus on that and one really good way to improve on RC is to go over it with someone.
So if you are struggling with RC and would like to work on this with me, I would be happy to help. But if you are doing well on RC and would still like to just work on it with me let me know as well. I think either way this could be helpful to everyone who just wants to work on improving their reading comprehension skills.
So yes : ) Let's tackle RC!

Hey everyone,
So I think the best way to proceed would be to just meet and do a passage together. We can rotate volunteers when we go to the next paragraph and then we can all do the questions together under time constraint. So with that said, I have set the tutoring time to be Sunday, May 7th at 5:00 p.m. (eastern time).
We will be using the Reading Comprehension section from PT #3. So please have a clean printed copy of the RC section in front of you and be ready to work on it as we go along. To get the most out of this session, please do not do the passages before the meeting. I think the best way to do this would be to work on this together.

P.S. for people who cannot make it at this time. Please let me know what day and time does work for you. I'll do my best to accommodate you guys the next time : )

@stephysekyi496 count me in! i'd love to help too! feels weird to offer myself as a tutor, but i really struggled with RC at first (-12 was not uncommon), but am currently averaging -2.3 on timed preptests. let me know if i can be of any assistance!

So I wasn't expecting so many people to be interested. But that being said, let me think about how we should do this in a way that's beneficial to all of us and I will get back to you guys in a day or two (3 (3.(/p)
But till then definitely let me know if there are more of you interested. That way I have a better idea of how I am going to structure this.
@stephysekyi496 not sure if I can join this session. It is too early for me. Is it possible to organise other sessions somewhere between 7pm and 9pm (EDT) ?

I completely understand how you feel. English is my second language as well so I know how much harder this is for us. But I don't think it can stop us from tackling RC. : )

Can't make it but wish I could. Would love if you did another one because RC is also my worst section at the moment as well.

That's sad that you can't make it. And I'll try next time to accomodate you. But if we do another passage and it lasts longer than 7pm you should join. : )

Sounds like a great idea! English is my second language, and RC is a formidable beast that I have yet to figure out ways to conquer. Everyone says read for the structure, and active reading. When it comes to answer choices I usually find myself struggling to pick between two choices, because I do not completely understand what the answer choice means exactly...
