Self-study
We're holding daily / nightly small-group sessions at
9 p.m. ET in "Study Room - 9pm ET" and
8 a.m. ET / 9 p.m. Seoul time in "Study Room - 9pm Seoul"
The sessions will be student-led—no 7Sage staff will be in the meeting. The suggested activity is group drilling.
Independent tutors are welcome to participate.
PSA: If you show up first, please stick around. Your fellow 7Sagers will join you.

Discussion "Connect" not working on the iPad.
@Stockholmare I've reached out to you via email to help resolve this. Please check your inbox — and don't hesitate to reply there so we can get this sorted out for you. Thanks!
I missed it!
is there 1 on Friday nights as well or week ends TY
is there one Friday night? study group like last week
I’ll be there
@J.Y.Ping I have a thought regarding the PT Review Sessions. Could we add an option to opt in to the answer being shown after each question when starting a blind review? This way we could actively blind review together. I know that if you opt into this feature before starting the PT, that it will show in blind review but I, and most others, prefer to treat the PT like the real thing. I think this would be beneficial to those of us who save test taking to the end of the week due to work, and those who have less time to sit down for a test and blind review in one session.
for some reason on safari, when opening/closing chat it keeps scrolling all the way to the top
@HudaHussaini Hi! I have sent you an email so we can troubleshoot and take a closer look at this. Please, let me know if you haven't received it.
@HudaHussaini We're working on fixing this!
Anymore feedback? Here's what I've already noted:
mute by default
easier way to start a DM with group members
the join/leave chime can be annoying
@J.Y.Ping For the screensharer, I can't view the chat when I'm sharing screens, it'd be great if that could be fixed!
@TheBigFatPanda Noted. Good job leading the group last night!
@J.Y.Ping Since in a lot of these folks end up doing questions together, it'd also be useful if there were some sort of configurable answer poll that could be turned on, so that people can vote for an answer without having heard what others are going to pick.
@ITTutoring Good idea, noted!
@J.Y.Ping Can you guys exempt the Study Room chats from the 'Today's notifications' email that gets sent out when you have unread chats or likes on your posts?
@ITTutoring Yeah, we're working on that. I get them too. I think everyone who's ever stepped foot in that study room will get it. :)
@J.Y.Ping The person sharing their screen cannot see the chat or tell who's talking. It would be nice if the study room features were more akin to Zoom or Teams, with the ability to see the chat, video/profile pictures and the screen you're sharing at the same time
This time is perfect! I work a full time during the day. This is the exact time that I put aside to study for LSAT each weekday.
New feature: you can now chat in the Study Rooms!
@J.Y.Ping was actually thinking how helpful a chat would have been last night. Thanks!
A 7am EST would be great!
@Stockholmare Hey, if you create a post about this, let me know and I'll pin it as an announcement for you, assuming I see it in time.
Maybe they should bring people in on Mute like in Teams/Zoom - on this platform everyone comes in off of mute and usually don't realize that they are not muted. Also the beeping when people join and drop, that could be adjusted to be optional as it is so loud and breaks the flow of the class.
9PM is definitely much better than 8PM! As a West Coast resident there was no way I was getting off work in time to make it at 5PM in my time.
I would love to join, but I'm new to the studying process. Is this study group formatted? Or will I need to bring my own practice questions?
@kennedyBooker usually someone share's their screen and we take about two minutes to work on the question on our own then we take turns sharing our thought process on why we believe an answer is correct and why we eliminated other answer. if you're new to studying but it may be more beneficial if you were to wait until you got to the LR section so some of the terms are more familiar to you.
Is there a proper ending time? I would like to join, but I will not be home till about 9:45pm
@abthomas0304@gmail.com There isn't but I believe both sessions the previous nights ran past 1 hour.
Hi all, these have been successful in getting people to study together over the past two nights. I'm curious if you have any feedback for us.
If you participated, how was the experience? What could we have done to make it better?
If you didn't participate, why not?
@J.Y.Ping I've joined both nights and they were really great experiences. Some fantastic tutors helped drive things the first night and then mostly students the second night. Some tips for those who join:
When setting up a drill, set the questions to give the answer after each question rather of at the end (which is the default).
Set the text size of the questions to smaller so the entire question fits on screen without scrolling.
Be aware, if you set up a smart drill/new drill, it will target your own weaknesses which may lean heavily toward one type of questions (this happened to me). Consider customizing.
One thing that's really nice is no one is expected to be an expert, we're just working together to solve questions. But you get to learn other techniques that people use to think through questions. I plan to join again tonight!
@J.Y.Ping Hi J.Y., I didn't participate in the study group, because of the time. I hope someone can host the study groups earlier in the day, just my thought. I'm going to try to attend this evening.
@Marci Hope you can make it tonight.
What time (earlier in the day) would work better for you?
@J.Y.Ping I'm going to make it tonight. Study groups between the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, PST would be amazing. Thanks for asking.
@Marci Happy to try that!
@J.Y.Ping I wish there were more time options because of the wide array of time zones of people on this website. I also wish I could add people as friends afterward because there were some people on the call who were super helpful, and I'd like to keep up with them outside of the messaging function. I do wish there were basic guidelines to get us. Having the tutor there was helpful, but everyone hopped on, and we were kinda like...now what?
@J.Y.Ping Another thought for the study rooms—there's no way to click on someone's name to chat them. Let's say, we have a really good study session and I wanted to follow up with someone or chat with them. There doesn't seem to be way to do that in the room. Maybe that's just a platform issue or a safety issue (which I totally understand).
@J.Y.Ping Hi J.Y., Thanks for doing the study rooms. I went to my first one tonight. The experience was great! I do think that some of the study groups should be arranged by question levels or question types. In our group, some people wanted to work on level 5 questions, while others wanted to work on level 3 questions. We compromised as a team and did level 4 to 5 questions. Just my opinion, since you inquired about the experience of the study group.
@L'SatMecha Duly noted!
@StephanieI That feature is coming!
@J.Y.Ping I would definitely like the 9-5 pst suggested too!
@StevanBlauert @jn17 @Theo! @JoshuaFisseha @AlexandraWiseOwl @ITTutoring @J.D.ComingSoon @Karl! and all other external tutors are welcome to participate in these!
