could you change the default line height spacing to be smaller? Currently the default spacing is too large compared to how it looked with the old font. With the large line spacing and the short, round new font, the stimulus looks like a string of characters rather than separate words. It makes a difference because way too often students find themselves looking back at the stimulus to recollect and identify familiar words from the answer choices. And it's disabling to not be able to quickly identify where the words are located when it just looks like a long string of round characters. Especially when the font size is set to 'large' or greater.

For people who want to voice their displeasure at the atrocious changes LSAC has made to the August format, they have a feedback form at https://www.lsac.org/send-us-your-feedback and actively monitored email inboxes at LSACinfo@lsac.org and accessibility@LSAC.org. I sent in a strongly worded complaint across both email and the feedback form yesterday and got responses from named customer service reps within 24 hours saying they'd incorporate the feedback into their design process. Who knows if they'll actually listen, but odds are higher the more vocal we are about this.

@sagely Thanks for sharing this; I filled out the form!

  • How do we set in our profile a prefence for the new method for those of us going forward taking the lsat?

so we dont need to pick it for every drill over and over and over again?

(Clicking the drill link for classes is great it takes us to the drill but its the old version)

"Hey thanks for doing this!": Custom accessibility options and the new font is more readable than before.

"And why was this necessary?": Basically everything else.

Hi, for the new version, will we be able to underline/highlight part of AC's? I wasn't able to do it during a drill today but I know the new preface is in beta on 7sage. Could someone clarify for me please? Thank you in advance.

@Sunnieqw22 We don't know what the LSAC will do with that. The demo version of their tester doesn't allow highlighting the answer choices, but they might end up changing it. We'll know more over the summer. Everything that you are not able to do in our beta tester is something that you are not able to do in the LSAC's demo tester.

Why does LSAC take pleasure in disabling us? I need an email to write a complaint yesterday

Apart from giving more accessibility options to customize the display colors and font size, and also the option to extend the view to full screen, they really should not change anything else.

Like other people said here, let us keep the option to highlight words in ACs, the option to jump ahead to any question by just clicking on the Q number and to be fair, the font is also really unserious. So keep the old font. None of these things are optional changes and all of them would ideally be kept the same.

I just checked the lawhub drills and PTs on their site, and the design seems to be the same old one. So I'm not sure where else I can expect to check the new look out in full length.

Thank you 7Sage team for the update! How do you pause the test & timer when using this interface?

@HappyTestTaker Our development team is currently working on adding a pause button to the new interface. We'll be sure to share an update as soon as it's available. Thanks for your patience!

I’m taking the June then August. Is it recommended to practice in both versions now or when I move closer to August ?

@astorialovescake My plan is to focus on the current setup until the June LSAT and then practice the new interface after so I don't confuse myself on where things are located :)

Since moving forward from June LSAT testing will be in person, are there any PDS options to print these out and just use a 7sage timer?

Thank you for reacting so quickly to help us prep for this poorly designed, but out of our control, change by LSAC.

This new interface is diabolical. Everything seems so squished on the screen.... actually freaking out a little

The new interface is actually less efficient. The "block out" tool is now tedious, forcing me to click back and forth, wasting 15-30 seconds per question. Furthermore, removing the ability to highlight text within answer choices is a huge downgrade for analyzing flagged questions. I hope they don't push through the aforementioned changes.

They should just keep the ability to highlight answer choices + have the eye toggle to "block out" wrong answers.

@KSki I had the exact same criticisms.

@EthanPerlmutter I wrote them a whole email critiquing the new UI and provided recommendations and they said they would pass it onto the dev team, but we'll see if they listen.

@RSM More people should e mail them. lets put a petition on line. If more people are not happy about it. May be they would do something about it.

@Cristina180 I'm with you and will sign a petition or will email if I have a petition to sign or email address to send an email to.

@KSki They are trying to make it more difficult

@RSM Could you provide the email? We should all be sending these. This is a huge disadvantage to those who have practiced on a different interface

@calliekoskovich sure this is what I sent in the feedback submission form on their site... It's a little sassier than I really needed to be, but I was pretty amped up. So I probably wouldn't take it verbatim. I used the accessibility angle because, let's be honest, they don't care about making the test harder to take.

"Hello, I would like to provide some feedback on the UX of the new testing interface. As a UX/UI designer and consultant with years of experience, expertise in accessible design, as well as an LSAT test-taker, I have a lot of feedback regarding the usefulness or really short-comings of the new interface for actual test-takers. I highly recommend reading through my suggestions, as you may find they could protect you from potential legal action on behalf of people with disabilities.

    1. General User Experience (UX): This current version requires MANY more clicks to accomplish a variety of tasks (which I will indicate below). As a test that is highly reliant on timing (and general UX best practices), more clicks take up and waste precious time that we don’t have.

    2. Accessibility: You should allow test-takers to set up their accessibility settings on a preview screen before beginning test timing, as this should not take up valuable test time. Even a 15-second distraction can impact results and disproportionately impact those who need to change these settings.

    3. Question quantity and review panel: Previously in order to see the total number of questions in a section, which is essential to timing, you could just look down at the footer, then see, and get to all of the questions with a single click. Now, you have to open a panel that isn't even clear what it is because it's just an icon (terrible for accessibility and general UX when not widely recognized iconography), hover over multiple icons to figure out what they do, then click on the review icon(which you wouldn't know functions this way intuitively), and then see how many questions there are and click on the one you want to get to.

    4. Masking answers: Similar complaint regarding unfamiliar iconography. As well as converting 1 click to 3+ clicks for the same result. You need to enter masking mode, then mask answers, then exit masking mode, then select an answer. And if you want to mask things again, repeat steps. Before, you just masked an option with one click. I can’t even imagine how much of a nightmare this is for people using a screen reader. Well, I can…and you should too.

    5. Where is the timer? That is all…

    6. I’m now seeing that you can uncollapse the menu to see the labels. If you’re using the menu (which is a worse UX than before, as noted), it should be open by default first, then closed by choice.

    7. I know you can change contrast with accessibility, but the default contrast is not accessible and is difficult to read for a non-visually impaired person. Grey on Grey does not pass a 3:1 contrast test. See WCAG 2.0+ standards for clear web accessibility guidelines."

@RSM Thank you for this. I really hope they listen because these are all very valid grievances.

also! when can we expect the august/other fall 2026 test dates to appear as a drop down for when we create a study plan? TIA

    3
    Saturday, May 2

@ygcastro im planning on taking the exam in the summer — LSAC hasn’t released the upcoming dates for the exams yet so I imagine 7sage would have them as options around the time the date and registration are live!

@monmon LSAC has the "predicted" dates online so they could def put the months on here for us to be able to plan!
