One of the main things that pushed me to law and wanting to become a lawyer was seeing one of my close family members grapple with addiction and how it affected me and my family. Is this an appropriate topic to write about for my personal statement or should I try to do something else?

Not sure if anyone has experience with this but if we apply in the Work/Life Experience category (other factors are given more weight than GPA), would we still be considered under the General Applicants category depending on the nature of your non-academic experience? It does not say anything on their website.
If you review either of my personal statement or diversity statement (open to other essays), I'll do the same for you! Looking for honest reviewers with strong writing skills!
Hi everyone, I plan on applying to law school this November and while I wanted to write the LSAT before applying, life kinda got in the way so now I am aiming for the November test too. In my application I plan on indicating that I will write in both November 2025 and January 2026, even though I hope to not have to write in January at all.
But in the off chance that I'm happy with my November score, would the admissions committee wait to consider my application fully until after a January score is posted since I have selected it on my application (even though I may not even write it in January for certain)? Or would they just consider my application with my November score if its posted first and good enough, and not pay much attention to whether I do better in January or not?
I am aware that it would be much more ideal for me to just wait until next year to avoid all of this, but I've been committed to applying this year and figured that aiming for November, and being open to January incase something goes wrong (or I get greedy and want to score higher) would be the smartest option. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!!!
Hello,
I'm wondering where the best place is to discuss a Senior Thesis on a résumé. I am planning to place this in my education section, but I'm struggling with how much detail to include in the description or if I should place it in a different section altogether.
Obviously, no admission committee is going to take the time to read such a long piece of text, but can anyone offer advice on how to highlight the work done in academic research? Thank you!
I applied to WashU back in mid-October. It was kind of a reach school for me, so I was not necessarily expecting a quick invite for an interview. However, it has been over three months since I have applied, and I have heard nothing. I'm assuming it's a likely denial but am confused as to what is taking so long to tell me no. The status tracker indicates that they have received all of my documents but says nothing else regarding the status of my application. Is this typical?
Hi everyone!
Can someone please read my GPA addendum? I'm just talking about my first-year grades. I promise its short!
Thanks,
na
I applied to CLS/Chi quite a few times about 3-5 years ago, last time in 2019-2020 cycle.
I used PS-1 the first time and a different PS-2 in later apps over a few years.
Since then my score has expired and I retook this Oct.
All my other application material (Recs, Resume etc) is pretty much the same. I can't get another rec from elsewhere.
Is it ok to reuse the PS, or do I need to write an entirely "fresh" one?
What if I reuse PS-1 which wasn't the latest PS i reapplied with earlier, how much difference would it make compared to writing a new one?
Hi all. I've been sending my emails to this email address of USC Law admissions@law.usc.edu, but have not receive any reply so far. Could you please share the email address that they're using? Thanks.
I'm applying to UofT law and am struggling with the optional essay.
They recommend speaking about one of four suggested topics, but I'm struggling with selecting the one that fits best, as I already speak to my future ambitions in my personal statement.
One of the options is diversity. I'm of Lebanese origin and grew up in Dubai. Is there any way this would be an acceptable ground for diversity, or is it best to go with another topic?
What're your guys' thought on NEU Law? General thoughts, advice, anything
If you don't get selected for an interview with Harvard, does that mean that you have been rejected?
For those that chose to have your recommenders send a paper letter, how long did it take for it to show up in CAS?
My recommender sent the letter 3-4 weeks ago and it still hasn’t showed up.
Just received my November LSAT score and definitely did not do as well as I hoped. I scored about 10 points under what I as PTing which is extremely frustrating. Some of the schools I was looking at are a bit out of reach now. I plan on retaking in January but is it worth it to try applying to some schools if I am over their median/75th percentile GPA but now barely making the 25th percentile on their LSAT scores? Or should I just wait until I retake in January?
Would one W on my transcript taint my applications - particularly for t-14 schools?
Greetings, All!

Hello guys, I'm having trouble understanding my GPA since my school (the one in South Korea) doesn't belong to any categories that CAS LSAT GPA Calculator provides. How would you interpret the grading system as follows?
A+(95~100) - 4.5
A0 (90~94) - 4.0
B+ (85~89) - 3.5
B0 (80~84) - 3.0
C+ (75~79) - 2.5
C0 (70~74) - 2.0
D+ (65~69) - 1.5
D0 (60~61) - 1.0
F (0~56) - 0
Any suggestion or information regarding my question would be appreciated, thanks.
Recently a school reached out to me and requested transcripts for a Paralegal certification course I took after college. The course is two separate 7-week classes. However due to finals and my legal internship I did not take them back-to-back which is why I correctly put 05/21 to 10/21 on my resume. I have two pieces of evidence to prove this. The transcript shows 05/21 to 08/21 because I guess they just count it as two consecutive courses.
I'm conflicted about if I should reach out to admissions or not. On one hand I feel like it might not be a huge deal but on the other hand I feel like if they admissions committee thinks I'm just outright lying on my resume for no reason it can jeopardize my acceptance chances.
Hi all,
I received another letter of recommendation on LSAC after I had already submitted my report with LSAC. I want to include this letter, but am unsure if LSAC will send it after the report was already sent. Does anyone know if LSAC will send the new letter to the schools I have already applied to? I have not received a decision from any of the schools as of yet.
So I've heard multiple people say that because of the economic state that this coming cycle (open in fall 2023) will be absolutely packed. Does anyone else agree/disagree?
I am hoping to submit apps sometime in the next week. I haven't spent a minute thinking about my resume until now because it's relatively inconsequential when compared to other factors. Also, I'm a few years out of college and have switched jobs so I already have one drafted. The problem I am running into with my "law school resume" is that I have what I believe to be relevant experiences from undergrad and I'm not sure how to include them such that it is 1) easy to follow and 2) recent work experience and older college community involvement both shine. Can someone look at my resume and critique my organization (and provide any other general feedback/criticism that you may have)?
Thanks!
Hey everyone,
So, I studied abroad twice, earning a total of roughly 30 credits. I studied abroad in two different countries with programs administered by two different (U.S. based) organizations The grades I earned studying abroad show up on my transcript and have been factored into my GPA, however, they are still noted to be off-campus programs.
Will my study abroad grades be factored into my LSAC GPA?
Thank you!
Hi - I was looking for someone to sit down with to review score/GPA and evaluate admissions prospects in NYC. I want to understand both prospects for JD and JD/MBA admissions. Any recommendations? I used 7Sage for studying for first exam and love the site, so I am coming here with this question.
Thanks in advance,
Joe
I've applied to four law school in the Illinois/Indiana region back in late November and still haven't heard back from any of them (despite a huge range in rankings for these schools), not even an indication on when they might make their decision or reach out to me... Nothing.
Should I be concerned?
