In November, I noticed changes in my priority rankings that I thought were the result of a bug. After doing some digging, I learned the true cause was an update to 7Sage’s recommendations engine.

Since the update, the priority tags have become much less useful to me. A comment I found by a 7Sage employee about the update says the following:

“Why we changed it: Under the old system, if you set a high goal score, nearly everything showed as 'highest priority' (not helpful). If you set a lower goal score, everything showed as 'lowest priority' (also not helpful). Now you'll always see a clear spread of priorities regardless of your goal score setting.”

If this is the reason for the change, it seems to have had the opposite of its intended effect on me. My goal score is 180, and my performance across question types is high. Prior to the update, my priorities were spread out in a reasonable and actionable manner. After the update, all except one of my RC tags were ranked “highest priority.” Here is screenshot from the bottom of my RC priorities list:

It seems obvious to me that a question type that, on average, appears less than once per test that I have never answered incorrectly should not be ranked "highest priority"!

This problem occurs at the top of my RC priority list, too!

(Note "Miscellany" and "Logical continuation.")

To a lesser, but still significant, degree my LR priorities have also been adversely affected.

A few examples:

On all of these question types, I am above goal accuracy, but they are still labled "high priority"!

I don’t have screenshots of my priorities from before the update (I had no reason to take any at the time), but I assure you they were much more reasonably spread out.

I would like to request that either another change be made to the recommendations engine or that users be given the option to switch to the engine’s pre-November version.

I realize that I may be an edge case, and it could be argued that since I am at or above my goal accuracy for most question types, my priority tags could not be relied on to guide study regardless of the engine’s tuning. This may be true, but if my priorities must be heavily weighted towards one extreme or the other, I would prefer to see most question types labled as “lowest” rather than “highest” priority. That is closer to how they appeared before the update and would better reflect my progress towards my goals. As they are now, they inaccurately suggest I have a massive amount of unfeasible progress to make.

🤔 Wondering

My Posts

I think the discussion feature is really helpful, but its hard to find my own posts once I've posted them. It seems like there should be a "My Posts" tab somewhere.

🙃 Confused

Yearning for a better Dark Mode

I know I’m not the only one! This feels like a table stakes feature that’s missing. Competitor apps default to dark mode and it’s so much easier on the eyes. I know it’s currently an experimental feature, but I’d love to see this prioritized. There’s no reason for the diagram PNGs to be completely illegible on dark mode.

Graphing Feature

Is there a way to see a graph of trend of your proficiency percentages on drills/sections? Its hard to see how much you're improving when you only have a percent to reference. Context: Trying to see the trajectory of improvement (even if small).

I wanted to suggest adding a way for users to see their overall average time spent per question for Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension across all drills and practice.

Ideally, this could appear in the analytics section alongside existing stats like total questions attempted, accuracy, questions answered per day, average scores, etc. Having an overall average time per question would make it much easier to track pacing improvement over time and understand how close a user is to test-day timing.

It could also be very helpful to break this timing data down by question difficulty (Levels 1–5). Seeing average time by difficulty would allow users to identify whether they are spending too much time on easier questions or over-investing in higher-difficulty questions, which directly relates to pacing and skip strategy under timed conditions.

Since 7Sage already tracks both question difficulty and time spent on individual questions, this would be an aggregate view of data that’s already being collected. I think it would be a useful addition to the analytics tools, especially for students like myself who are working to improve their timing.

Thanks for considering this.

Was this feature removed? Is there anyway to see your PT's plotted out on a graph like on 7Sage Classic's analytics? I got a nice dopamine hit every time i'd set a new record. Would love to see it come back.

😖 Frustrated

Wrong answer journal logistics

I think this has already been brought up, but I would really appreciate if the ability to drag a .png of the question from the quick view tab could be brought back. Especially with RC questions, copying and pasting is very messy, and the cleaner format was very helpful in adding questions to my personal wrong answer journal that I had organized by question types, difficulty, and so on.

While wrong answers can be organized in such categories under analytics, scrolling through these is very inconvenient. Every question takes you to a separate page, which wastes a lot of time if you are just trying to find a certain question or skim for commonalities between similar questions. This formatting is extremely frustrating.

I understand that the wrong answer notes feature is now more accessible, but using those notes is also inconvenient. Referring to the question that they were written for requires going to a separate page containing the question, after which the note is put in very small font while the question is in much larger font. Considering that the note should be the primary focus of wrong answer review, this is also extremely frustrating to work with.

I'm actually very disappointed with the current format due to these complications.

In the analytic section (under "sections"), I used to be able to hover the cursor over the bars to see how many questions I missed in previous full sections. Is that feature no longer available or did I imagine that it was once available to begin with? Now, when I hover over the bars, nothing comes up. I would have to go through every past section individually to see previous scores

Hi! I'd love to be able to either manually check off my practice block tasks, or be able to have an option to choose how many pratice tests I do. Some weeks, I cannot do a full practice test and I would like to be able to bypass that.

I just switched to the new 7Sage yesterday. I noticed that I can no longer select the quick view feature for a question that would allow me to drag the image of the question to my desktop or to another tab. Up until now, I have been opening those and quickly dragging them to my wrong answer journal or to a word document for printing.

I would really appreciate if this feature was brought back and believe other students would benefit from this as well.

Ask a Tutor Answers

I would like to request that the "Ask a Tutor" option have the answer from the tutor living within that question. I know that they email us their response, but my inbox is easily flooded, and it would be easier to reference the answer and look at the question when it's saved within that exact question. The feature could be similar to how the "notes" option shows us any notes we add for a question.

Please consider adding this; it would be very helpful!

(It's possible this is doable, and I just cannot figure out how to do it).

After finishing a prep test, it seems you can either review the whole test or filter and look at specific questions. When you click into that question, and then go back, you lose the filter criteria. It would be nice if these two were combined and you could review a batch based on filter criteria.

My specific use case is: looking at questions where I consumed much more than the target amount of time. Most of this platform seems to be geared towards correct vs. incorrect. In my opinion, this is only part of the puzzle. Questions you get correct, but that take up a disproportionate amount of your exam time, are also worthy of review.

RC blind review

I think this was mentioned sometime it passed, but I think a feature where we can postpone a blind review for a recently finished RC section for a later time would be very helpful, especially for people who feel burnt out after completing a PT. If this feature already exist, sorry for the inconvenience.

I've enjoyed the ability for 7sage to put together a study plan that utilizes the data I've fed it to cater to what it thinks I should focus on. However, one of my biggest gripes is the inability to open a suggested item into a new tab which then requires me to make my way back to the study plan after the completion of each suggested task. It's a small bit of friction but also one I feel like shouldn't be necessary.

It would also be nice if it remembered which blocks I've minimized but that's secondary to just wanting to open a task in a new tab so that I don't have to make my way back to the study plan each time.

Show timer on videos

When on my laptop none of the videos show the time in the play bar. They all just stay at 0:00. It would be helpful to know how long the video is before diving in. Also would be helpful to note time point of something you want to revisit so you can easily find it again without having to scan through the videos

In the study plan for each day I wish there was a way to mark all drop downs in 1 category complete instead of having to check mark them all manually. I watched about half of my study plans videos on the old platform and I can’t transfer that progress to show here on the new site (which is not a big deal) but I wish I could just mark the videos I watched all at once for certain days. It would save a lot of time and help me visualize where I am in my study plans more clearly.

I use surface pro and its pen. Highlighting works with my pen in lawhub, but not on 7sage. Seems like I have long press to highlight on 7sage and even that I cant drag it to highlight the whole sentence. However, it works nicely on lawhub practice tests and the actual test.
