I stupidly have not completed the writing sample for the October exam yet but I am doing it today. With the score release day being October 23 and the fact that it can take 1 to 3 weeks to process the writing sample, I am wondering if people think I will get my score on the release day. And if not, since I purchased score preview, will I still be able to potentially cancel it before its released?

I'm taking the Oct 3 and the deadline to push it to Nov is approaching.

My past 6 tests have averaged to a 168, (163-173-168-175-163-168). These scores are so all over the place, and with only 2.5 weeks left I'm inclined to push it to Nov to give me more time to close this gap. My goal is a 170. Any advice please?

LSAT writing ProctorU

How much can be in the room for your lsat writing since they ask you to give a full room scan? Like should I move a bunch of my stuff out of view or do they expect there to be things since you’re doing it at your own house?

LSAT Test Format

This is a pretty basic question but I have been unable to find a clear answer online.

What is the format of a standard LSAT? All the practice tests on here are 4 sections. Is that standard? I know this has changed with the new FLEX test which is only 3 sections but the January test looks like it will switch back to a standard LSAT format.

I have also seen things online about 6 section exams or 5 section exams... and have heard of an 'experimental section' being in exams. Is this 'experimental section' scored? Do you know it is the 'experimental section' when you take it?

I am also curious on the timing aspect? Is there any break between sections? I would assume so since you have 35 minutes per section and I do not believe you can go back to a prior section if you finish a later section early. How long is the break between each section? I have seen info on a 15 minute break between section 3 and 4 but that is it. If it were a 4 section test I would expect the break to be between 2 and 3?

I apologize if any of this was hard to follow, just wanted to lay all my thoughts out there.

I'd love to have a better idea of exactly what the format of the standard LSAT is to make sure I am preparing properly.

Thank you in advance.

This is seriously so embarrassing, but I have been studying for going on five months now, averaging about 15--20 hours on a good week and I have taken six practice tests. The highest I have scored was a 148 once, but the last few tests were 143-145. I feel completely discouraged. I have put so much time in already and my score has actually gone down after two months of studying. I am equally bad in all areas it appears. I cannot figure out where I am going wrong or if my brain is just not meant for this kind of stuff, especially after reading that people are scoring 160 for just their diagnostic. I am signed up for the November test, and I do not know if I should push it out further, but I hear it is harder to get in if you apply so late in January. I am also going to school full time and graduate in the Spring. It is a lot trying to do both at the same time. Help! Also, I cannot figure out why I can do fine on Logic Games, but during the practice test, it is like everything I know flies out the window. My reading comprehension is also horrid, despite doing well on many practice problems.

I was just taking my test. Was doing so good on logic games had so much time left for the last game, and my computer died. It was at 100 when I started. I don’t know why I didn’t bring a charger. Now I can’t reconnect on a different computer. I want to cry

January & February Flex?

Has anyone spoken with LSAC and found out if they're leaning towards Flex for January & February? I just tried to register for January but there aren't any test centers available, which is strange because there are always test centers available this far in advance.

February has the generic "(city) area test center" listed instead of the usual specific centers while April does have the specific centers.

Hey all. I took the August LSAT and got a 149, much lower than my practice written tests. It was a complete shit show on exam day (I won't get into all of the details). I have about 5 weeks to get as much out of this course as possible. With my 4.0 GPA, a 149 gets me into law school, but I want to raise it to over 160 which gets me into most law schools. With working 2 law enforcement jobs and 15 semester hours, my time is finite. Should I practice test every other day? At least I know what to expect for the Flex this time, I was taken aback by never taking an LSAT like that, even in practice. And I swear that LSAT-Flex was made by Satan himself. The RC was beyond absurd. And all 4 LG's were level 5's. It ate my soul, and I am still trying to get it back. Any advice on the best way to use 7Sage in the best way possible in 5 weeks would be great!

Hi folks! I have been studying for months and am registered to take my second LSAT in November. I'm unsure whether I should go ahead and take it in November or push it to January. My last 3 PTs were: 168, 168, 167. I desperately want to score at least a 170. I work full time so I don't have 40+ hours a week to study. I study in the mornings, evenings, and all day weekends. For people who have been in a similar situation before, do you think 30 days is enough to have that breakthrough into the 170s?

Thanks so much!

Resume Question

I've heard conflicting advice on including those 'extra' sections (Academic Interests / Travel / Random Facts) intro your law school resume. Does anyone have some thoughts on this?

Right now I have my resume drafted as to include all three (because I have space and because I just wanted to put everything on the page and then remove as necessary).

Hi all!

I'd been thinking about this for some time and I couldn't come up with a satisfactory answer myself so I decided to write here.

After graduating from college I interned at a government contracting firm for 6 months.

First 3 months was with Financial Management,

Second 3 months was with Leadership and Organizational Development.

Both supervisors from both departments liked me. I believe I was going to be offered an extension for another 3 months at the end, however,

I was basically transferred over to L&OD from FM because nobody could train me and they wanted someone who could do finance and accounting who didn't need training (my background is not in this area). They thought they could train me to do the job at the time of hiring.

I think my supervisor from FM (the first internship) would write me a better LOR because that was before Covid and he's recognized my work ethics and attitude but I'm concerned about the fact that I was transferred because I couldn't perform the tasks for the job.

The supervisor from the second 3-months also liked me but I don't think he will have much to write about in the letter because we all worked from home and he barely saw me during the last 3 months.

I quit after 6 months due to possible exposure to Covid and also to start studying full time for LSAT.

My first question is should I even ask for an LOR from such short internships?

If yes, which supervisor do you think I should ask for the LOR??

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated and good luck for those of you are writing NOV LSAT!

PT. 79 ?!?!?!?!

Just took this one and it absolutely annihilated me. 8 point drop from my previous PT.

Would like to hear anyone else's experience with this one.

Best of luck to everyone in their studies.

Personal Statement Swap

Hi, guys,

If anyone would like to trade and review personal statements, please DM me! I've just finished the first draft of mine and am in need of help with proofreading and revisions. I would be more than happy to do the same for anyone else!

LSAT Flex ProctorU

I just tested my system on ProctorU and it said upload speed could not be found. Then it says * Why would some system information not be found?

Firefox does not allow access to CPU and RAM information. To check for these metrics, test your equipment again using Chrome Browser.

When gathering your system's information, the ProctorU Browser Extension is used to retrieve some metrics. If the ProctorU Browser Extension is not currently installed, then these metrics will not be found. In addition, your browser's privacy settings might also disallow this page from retreiving certain system information.

Should I be freaking out right now??

I got royally screwed...

I just took my October Flex today. I asked my proctor specifically before the test begin if he would pause my test should I lose internet connection, and he said yes. The first section was LG, and I was about to go into the last game (with six questions total) with about 6 minutes remaining, when my wifi cut out. I took about 20 minutes to reset the router, and when I finally reconnected, this time with another proctor, I was allowed to resume my test.

However, when the proctor "resumed" my session, I immediately got kicked into my next Section. As time was already running in the 2nd section, I had to decide either to continue with the test and bring up the issue with the first section at the end of the exam, or just call it off right there and then and sort it out with LSAC. I decided to go with the former, still thinking that the first proctor saved my progress (since he promised...).

The RC and LR sections felt like a blur. I tried my best to concentrate, but I was still worried that they didn't save my progress. And of course, exactly that happened. After completing my final section, I was transported to the LawHub Completion page. I asked my proctor to allow me to resume my first section. They made me wait for almost an hour, only to be told to contact LSAC myself. So I did. I called LSAC, and I was told that "an email" would be sent to me, listing my options. However, I was told these options won't include allowing me to complete my first Section or letting me take a brand new LG section to supplement Section 1.

Now I'm just sitting, still in shock, trying to keep myself together, and waiting for an email that probably wouldn't help me.

Study partner / help w LR!

Hi all! I’m looking for someone to go over some LR with me for review while also helping me out with assumptions and just review overall until the Nov. exam! I took the August exam and scored way below my avg, so hopefully this could help fill in some gaps. Let me know if you’re interested!
