Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone has advice for pre-test warm ups, especially since we will not be taking the test at a testing center for the next few months. I have been doing a 10 question problem set of LR that seems to help, but I still underperform on my first section.

Thanks,

Ben

I went over to Law Hub to check out how the set up looks for the LSAT Flex (which I hear is on LawHub)

I noticed (or maybe failed to find the setting) to make the line numbers show for Reading Comp. Is this the case for people who have taken the test? Seems like it would be a pain to find things when questions refer you to a line.

So I finished the CC over the weekend and took my first PT since my diagnostic. My diagnostic was a 158 pre BR, so I was hoping to improve a few points now that I finished the CC. But, to my utter disbelief, I scored a 173 on my PT!!! After BR, that score was at 177. I am still in total shock and disbelief as I was not at all expecting that much of a jump just from the CC. Obviously I'm feeling very good, but am tempted to treat this as luck as I don't have anything else to compare it to. More importantly though, this has really thrown a wrench into what I was expecting my study process to look like post CC. I was expecting to slowly make my way through all the PTs. Now, I'm wondering if a different approach might be a better use of my time, because it seems like my fundamentals are pretty solid. Any and all thoughts/advice/ideas are welcome!

And for those just starting or in the midst of the CC, trust me. It is all so worth it. Taking my post CC PT felt like I was looking at the test with a brand new set of eyes compared to my diagnostic. 7Sage makes a huge difference!

Hi all --

I am feeling a little defeated by LR. I've been studying for almost a year and I seriously feel like I haven't improved at all when I see my score. My diagnostic was 153, so there has been SOME improvement. However, I am BRing in the 170s and have gotten 180 before! This gives me SOME hope that I can get there, but what gives? I cannot seem to figure out how to master this section!

For overall PTs, I have scored typically between 160-167 (one 168). I took PT 80 today and got a 161 (-7LR S1, -7 RC, -3 LG, -10 LR S4). The LG score was a bit abnormal for me, it was a reassignment game that threw me off. I am so hoping to get a 168-170 range on my test in July, but I honestly have no clue how to go about improving. I've had a tutor, but that particular person was not helpful for me.

Anyways, I am going to really focus on LR and RC this last month. I wouldn't say I am struggling consistently with one type of question because it truly seems it is all over the place! Maybe principle questions? I struggle with the questions that are level 4/5 in difficulty. I realize a lot of the time I am making careless mistakes either due to misreading or being overly critical of one AC, but not the other. It is very common for me to be stuck on two ACs. Any advice on how to improve AC confidence specifically in the newer tests? I've tried hyper skipping, but still struggle to find extra time at the end to go back or I struggle to refresh my mind and convince myself that I haven't selected the right choice.

For RC, I seem to always struggle with questions that have to do with inferring what the author would be likely to agree with or weaken/strengthen. This section is usually -4 or -7 for me.

What kind of studying should I be doing this last month to close the gap? At this point I am seriously stressing over whether or not it is even POSSIBLE to grab a few more points on the test considering how long it seems I have stayed in the mid-160s..

I would really appreciate any advice!!

Hi everyone!

Thought i'd share my little snafu in hopes of preventing this from happening to anyone else. After endlessly reading 7sage discussion boards of what to do the day before the test, I went to the gym to get a nice workout in to "clear my mind." Well, if you have not been to the gym in a while because you've been studying or because quarantine has closed your gym up until now, this might be a BAD idea.

I ended up working out for a couple hours and herniating a disc in my back and was unable to move. Full on flat on the floor lying on ice and heat for 24 hours. Thank GOD the LSAT Flex lets you reschedule your time. I changed my test to today (Monday) and was able to recover enough to get through it.

Moral of the story - don't do anything too intense at the gym the day before!! :-P

Hello all,

I’m making my way through the Core Curriculum. I just finished LR about a week ago, now I’m making my way through LG. I’m wondering your approach as you move forward.

Do you only focus on the current section (LG) or do continue practicing LR so that it stays fresh in your mind?

Your input will be much appreciated!

I know this has been asked already, but that was 6 years ago. I am on the weakening part of the syllabus and there are 15 problem sets. I feel kind of comfortable almost halfway through, so I get the urge to move on. However, I am not sure if that is a good strategy. Do you guys move on to another section in order to save some problem sets for later?

Hi everyone.

Just two quick questions on the LSAT Flex:

Is the full screen option available on the real LSAT Flex? (Just like 7Sage where you can maximize it to the extent of your web browser.) LSAC's LawHub simulator does not seems to support them but I'm guessing they're simulating the in-person digital tablet test, not the Flex.

Also, are line numbers cited on RC? Again, LawHub's simulator doesn't cite line numbers, which is a bit bonkers...

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

So I am determined to apply this upcoming cycle and have registered for the August test. However, I want to leave room for a second attempt so I am considering signing up for the October test as well.

My plan would be to see how my score is from August -I believe I would get the result in late September- and then I would withdraw from the October test depending on whether or not I am satisfied with my score.

I honestly don't care so much about losing money for the late withdrawal at this point; I just want the added peace of mind that comes with knowing I have a possible second attempt.

I am just wondering whether or not a late withdrawal will be reflected on my application negatively, if it appears there at all.

Would anyone be aware of these details?

I would appreciate any help and advice very much!

I decided to withdraw from this weekend's administration. On the status page on LSAC's website I do not see any option to withdraw. I gave them a call but they are not open until Wednesday. I sent an email and also submitted a message on their contact us page. Is there anything else to do in order to avoid an absent marking for the exam? Did I misinterpret the withdraw deadline? Is n't it at midnight tonight?

Thank you for any insights!

I am having trouble viewing the quick view on certian question- it says the link is expired. I can view the question when going to the explination and when looking at earlier tests but not the mid 40+ range tests.

Hey everyone,

I am taking the July 14th flex exam and was curious if anyone has had an issue of "download speed can't be found" I have tested it on other websites and am downloading at a speed 3x higher than recommended. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience and what was done to fix it.

thanks

Nervous about registering for a flex lsat if they will be doing lsat like this for a while because I have been doing practice tests the traditional five section way for a while. Do you think it will be more difficult to get a higher score with only three sections or will it be about the same? And supposedly they aren’t going to make it more difficult because it’s three sections but I honestly don’t know if that’s going to be the case lol. Also how do you think law schools will view a flex score ?

Hey everyone,

My studying began at the very end of last year. I just received my first 170, albeit with some extra time added on to the PT. When discussing speed, I've heard the maxim, "Slow is fast and fast is smooth" and am attempting to live by this motto. Within the speed zeitgeist, there is also the skipping strategies from Mike Ross and Can'tgetright, which are incredibly useful. For anyone else scoring within this range, could you provide either general principles or specific rules that help you gain speed without sacrificing accuracy? Alternatively, you can just affirm that speed is a function of practicing more frequently and I'll begrudgingly accept that.

Lastly, if you are in need of a study buddy, I am up for being asked "dumb" questions if I can ask foolish things in return. I plan on really considering this July Flex test (even with its drawbacks) with August as a hopeful take.

Thanks!

I just started 7sage a few weeks ago. Should I start taking practice tests throughout the core curriculum? I understand that I won't know the best approach for most of the question types at this point and don't want to "waste" the prep tests if I'm not ready.

Any recommendations on when to start integrating them into my weekly study plan? Thank you!

Hi - I know this is a nice problem to have but I am looking for advice on if it makes sense to move from June to July LSAT. I am registered for both but hope to take once with highest score possible. My study schedule and overview of PTs are below. I am feeling a bit exhausted but also have always had a shoot your shot mentality and would not hate being done with LSAT on Monday.

My question is how much can I expect to improve if I take a few days to decompress this weekend and then refine with PTs 79-84 doing 1-2 a week for next few weeks? This would probably involve me taking LSAT time down from 80% of time to 30-50%. Would it be typical (expected?) for a test taker with below level of scores to move up to more consistent high 170s? Or does the below pattern indicate an end to realistic improvement. Thank you and good luck to everyone jamming on this stuff.

Overview of studies:

I moved through LSAT trainer in about 1 month while picking and choosing core curriculum lessons as I felt it was needed. I started PT'ing at the the start of June scoring:

April 15 - May 31: LSAT trainer and core curriculum

June onward PT and blindreview:

76 - 169 (173)

77 - 168 (171)

78 - 173 (174)

79-83: saved

84 - 171 (171)

85 - 168 (172)

86 - 169 (170)

87 - 171 (172)

88 - 169 (176)

89 - 173 (173)

I can go -0 in an given section but tend to have one section always go -3 to -5... Timing is improving especially on LR (maybe 5 minutes at end and getting better). RC is always tighter for time. LG has most variability.

At what point do I know I've completed the core curriculum? Currently, I'm on weakening questions - but I noticed there's nowhere on the syllabus that specifically states "core curriculum." I know its L, LR, and RC but how do I know when I've completed those lessons on the syllabus?

I guess I have a question. If the June test is the LSAT flex, would they release a 4 section test or just 3 section for the books they publish and sell to you for prepping purposes? It seems bit confusing to prep for 4 to 5 section and using the 5 section as an experimental. The actual test is just 3 sections now with LSAT flex. I mean how do you score it a 3 section test? I am sort of confused at the moment. If you can explain where it makes, it would be most helpful.
