Cannot improve

Hi all,

I started studying this summer with like 15-20 hours a week just doing core curriculum, no PT. I was really starting to improve. After I started taking PT, my scores were stuck at a 154. I am not sure if I should redo the complete curriculum because I have time, however, it has been immaculately frustrating as I worked my butt off this summer. I wasn't doing the read review method during my drills, and I'm not sure if that is why. Any suggestions?

I hit my goal score of 168 with a BR score of 174. I have only taken 5 PTs so far that have only trended upwards, previous PT score was a 160 with a BR score of 166. I understand I still have many weeks to keep studying but I do have midterms on the two weeks leading up. My anxiety for whatever reason is higher than ever, I don't have a real average of PT scores because I have only taken 5 PT that have only had upward trends after each. I do believe my ceiling is higher than what I scored but I want to make sure im consistent. My plan is to drill LR and RC for the first half of each week and take a PT at the end of each week, is this a good plan? Any tips for handling anxiety especially with my case? I really hope it was not a fluke.

This mainly pertains to people who have used 7sage prior to the removal of logic games, but pls merge analytics. I don't even mean like the specific practice test scores, but like the questions taken, pt's done, etc. I feel should be easy enough to do. This is especially important when doing 3 section tests of older 1-94 pts. For example, I did a 3 section of pt 81 since it was one of the few 80s tests I haven't done prior to LG removal, but was reworked into being experimental sections on tests I've already done, but the analytics were added to the old analytics despite me doing the "current version". It's just a pain to have to use the obsolete drill function since I don't know what questions I've used in the new drill function as well as analytics technically being less accurate.

As an international student from Ghana, I am having difficulties concentrating for more than an hour when taking PTs. I don't know how to resolve this, as I am registered to write the October LSAT and I don't feel prepared enough. If anyone here can help me with some useful tips on how to study better and maybe help me with study groups.

My time zone is GMT +00, I am available at any time and ready to put in the work to get my desired score please. Help a sister out ;(

Hey 7Sagers,

J.Y. and 7Sage's content creation team have recently developed a new way of engaging with reading comprehension passages and questions. You may already have noticed that many RC passages now feature new tags like 'Spot' for Spotlight-style passages and 'Prob' for Problem-Analysis-style passages.

To help you learn more about the passage styles and how you can improve your approach to RC by applying relevant strategies to passages of different styles, lead content creator Kevin Lin has taught a two-part live class to introduce you to the new method!

The recording of Part 1 is available here.

The recording of Part 2 is available here.

🍪 The recordings are available to all Core subscribers as well as Live subscribers.

Hi, I just started studying with 7sage.

I tried to use keyboard shortcuts (spacebar & k) to pause the video, but it doesn't work.

Searching Google got me nowhere. Plz help me, it is more uncomfortable than i thought to pause it using the mouse every time lol

FYI, I use Chrome, and I tried all 3 kinds of video players on settings but still not working. (also tried update to current version & restart)

I think it's just me tho ... seems like no one on the reddit & discussion experienced the same.

Is there anything else that i can try?

Thank you

v2 curriculum

I was following the version 1 curriculum until I got to the introduction to logic section which focuses on logic but is that for the logic games? Some people said to switch to the v2 curriculum but I do not know where to start with the version 2 curriculum. Can anyone help me or should I just start from the beginning and proceed?

Does anyone know a good estimate of how long the writing sample takes to process? I took the September LSAT, and had a lot of unexpected things happen in the time following the test, hindering me from completing the writing sample. I am wondering how long it takes for the writing sample to process. Do you think if I take it tomorrow, Wednesday 9/18, it will process before the score release date for September?

I have 1.5x time accommodations for the LSAT. I took the LSAT test on paper with a scantron. I am scheduled to do the writing portion soon. I got scheduled for a paper and pencil writing exam. Obviously I would much rather type because it is way faster.

So my question is: Does having accommodations for the LSAT require me to taking the writing portion on paper, or do others with accommodations take it similar to lawhub style (typing)?

    ADHD and self-doubt

As someone with ADHD something I often run into is self doubt. It can be in any situation but for me schooling was a place it came up often. As the LSAT is a test designed to make even a confident person second guess themselves, how do people go about trying to study with a voice of self doubt in your head?

    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has gotten an accommodation letter for major anxiety (testing anxiety, panic disorder, etc.) and how your process went in getting the letter and LSAC accepting it? Was LSAC easy going with it or did you have to appeal at all/provide additional info? I've heard from some people that they prefer certain healthcare professionals to others.. not sure

Need some studying tips on a short timeline.

I’m still going through the rest of the curriculum and then intend to bang out PT tests, but I am taking the LSAT in Oct and probably again in Nov. I’m consistently getting only 2-3 correct on these drills. In reviewing my wrong answers, I fully understand where I erred, but I also don’t have the time to master each of these drill sections (at least I don't think I do).

My current mindset is to try and get through this curriculum, then bang out those PT tests since PT test do not categorize difficulty and question types. I’m worried if I spend too long on the drilling, I will lose sight that the actual tests is completely random in the questions types and difficulties that are chosen.

Any thoughts here are helpful as I orient my studying these last 1-2 months. Thank ya all and good luck.

So I'm scoring consistently in the 160/161, with BR of 163, and a one-time score 164. While I'm glad that I am at least accurate in my scores, I'm not sure how to break through, and become better in those specific areas. I've been doing focused drills, but clearly it's not having an effect yet.

Any tips/advice on how to approach this in a different way?

    Thanks!

    lsat, transferring, my story

Thought I would share my story, if it's helpful to anyone, of how I navigated the LSAT and transferred into Georgetown.

I took the LSAT in Nov 2022 and scored a 158. I retook the LSAT in Jan 2023 and got a 163. Everything is relative, but at the time I was really disappointed (I hoped to break 170.)

I applied to law school but regularly debated delaying and reapplying the following year with higher scores. I applied and got a number of offers, including Davis, and got amazing scholarships from UC Hastings (UC Law SF), Brooklyn U, and a full ride at Seattle U. I took the advice of 7Sagers and was able to negotiate up these amazing scholarship offers. I, ultimately, accepted the offer at UC Hastings where I now pay 1/4 tuition. I knew in my heart that I'd be a better law student than a logic game player. I could have delayed another year, been a year older, and still not gotten the 170. I chose to start school.

How'd it go? I really enjoy law school. Seriously, I do. And I did pretty well in my classes (I ended approx. 30-40/400 students) despite a vicious curve. I also made great friends, worked really hard, and learned a lot. Despite the scare tactics, you don't need a 4.0 to transfer. My GPA was enough to transfer into Georgetown Law.

UC Law SF is interesting. Happy to speak with folks about it. The curve and conditional scholarships make it a very competitive place. The professors have been excellent, but the community is lacking. One of the biggest bummers for me is that in this fascinating, polarizing, confusing time in the law, you'd never know it from my school's events. Very few speakers or symposiums -- makes you feel like you're in a bubble, not the academic heart of it all. The new law building (333) is beautiful though and SF is an amazing city.

As I see it, I was able to secure two great options: a generous scholly at UC Law SF or a discounted Georgetown diploma (basically, 1 year "free"). So if you can't get your LSAT score where you want it, there still is hope that you can get where you want to go. I really think, in retrospect, there is value in just going. It's always possible you'll love your non-T14 school and also possible you'll hate law school so figuring that out sooner is helpful. I also think there is a misconception that transferring is really hard/impossible.

All of that is to say, I remember the panic and futility of not being able to get my score where I wanted it. Don't forget your "score" is not your identity, and it doesn't fully predict how well you'll do at law school or where you'll end up.

    Confirm action

    Are you sure?
