Hey! I am studying full time for the next roughly 6 months looking for a study partner/group. Let me know if anyone is interested. I'm currently near GW campus so I'm happy to meet there or virtually. I plan on taking a PT once a week and using the week to review questions, but also open to suggestions. Thanks!

Law School

Was wondering if anybody's applying to law schools for the upcoming Fall 2025 Semester, and if they've already taken their LSAT or planning to take it soon? I've applied to take it in February however some people are telling me if I don't score well then it'll become harder and harder to get in. If I don't do so well I'll most likely take it in April as well. Is anybody on the same boat as me? There's so little time and so much stress for me.

Over the past 9 PT's (taken over the last three months or so -- I've had to take roughly one PT per two weeks due to other commitments), I have been scoring basically 171-3. BR for these have ranged from 175-180. It feels like the most intense plateau. I usually get around 7-8 wrong, and they're pretty evenly distributed between the two LR sections and the RC section. My intuition tells me that LR is where I can squeeze out some more points (probably RC too, but I really think I have more to give with LR). But I'm totally unsure as to how to get those extra points. It's not like there is a common type of question that I get wrong, even though they generally tend to be the more difficult questions.

I have around 10 modern PT's left. I recently started taking one per week. I'm now wondering if I should space them out more so that I don't run out of material and focus more on drills. Trouble is, I am lost as to what strategy I should take for overcoming this plateau. I was hoping that others who have been in a similar place before and succeeded in breaking the plateau had some tips!

Administrators: Is there a function to eliminate the experimental section from the prep test? I have an accommodation where the unscored section has been removed from my LSAT and was wondering if I can disable that feature here so I am testing with the same conditions, while receiving accurate scoring.

Seeing incorrect marks and red marks just feels so negative. How do you not let this get to your head? How do you remain positive when it seems like you can't? I'm starting to feel like I should give up on going to law school.

Hi everyone,

Is there an explanation for why the scaled score varies by 1-2 points from the current test format to the obsolete test format, same raw score? This is reflected in the conversion table on 7sage. For example, -5 is a 174 for X modern PT, but 173 for the corresponding obsolete (but modified - LR, LR, RC, no experimental) PT. Presumably, since the same scored sections are tested (given 7Sage modification), the scaled score should be the same, unless I'm misunderstanding something.

I made the mistake of taking a test on LawHub under the current test format and manually inputting the answers in the corresponding obsolete (but modified, no LG) 7Sage test. Two different scaled scores were given, 1 point off. I double checked - exact same scored sections. Is this just a matter of adjusting the scaled scores with removal of LG?

And I assume that I should rely on the current test format's scaled score, correct?

Are people who have to study significantly more to get a good LSAT score at a comparative disadvantage if they go to a top school? For example Bob studies 1000 hours and scores a 174. July is a genius and studies 10 hours and gets a 174. At the same T14 law school would Bob be at a disadvantage and would July have an advantage judging from the time it took to earn the same LSAT score?

This must seem like an odd question and I recognize there are inherent advantages and disadvantages to being a super hard worker vs having natural talent, but I would like to know if there is a trend in who performs better in law school, the "super hard worker" or the person with "natural genius."

Thank you!!!

Just took my first PT from the syllabus #36.

I went blank on the logical reasoning section. Is this normal for a first PT and if not, what can I do to improve.

Other sections were -6, -6, and -5.

In the CC lesson on grammar, "Modifiers can be Modified," why isn't the kernel of the sentence “The cat likes milk”? Why is it "The cat likes to drink milk"? Why is there an extra verb (to drink)?

The full sentence:

The cat that I brought home from the shelter in the middle of the village where a merchant was murdered on the only snowy day last year likes to drink fermented milk from the Swedish cow that we imported from Austria at considerable expense.

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you well. I started studying a few weeks ago and scored a 140 on my diagnostic test. However, I am having trouble grasping the main conclusion logical reasoning questions that are categorized as high difficulty. I've listened to podcasts and tried to understand the explanations, but I haven't had much luck despite trying multiple different approaches.

I can manage the moderate and easy questions, but I'm unsure whether I should move on to other topics or continue to focus on these challenging questions. Should I explore a different strategy or perhaps shift my focus to Reading Comprehension? I would greatly appreciate any advice or insights you might have.

Thank you for your help!

In Person LSAT Breaks

I am writing the in-person LSAT on Friday. I know in the 10min intermission you cannot write on your scratch paper. Can you write on it during the 1min breaks between sections?

Concern over "wasting" PTs

Hi all,

I've taken 14 PTs. I find I learn best through a combination of drilling and PTs. However, 7Sage uses PT content for drilling. I like this, but I'm concerned about compromising future PTs due to having answered some of their questions during my drilling sessions.

I've started to plan which PTs I will take in the future, and selecting drilling questions only for PTs not belonging to that group of tests. The plan is to keep "fresh" PTs 111-121. As a result of this, I have been drilling from PTs in the 140s and 150s.

However, I'm concerned about possible differences between the quality, rigor, or relevance of different PTs. This could mislead me in my evaluations of where I am at in my LSAT journey. Are some PTs more applicable to the modern LSAT than others? If anyone has any information about this, please let me know! Also, what is your approach to this problem? Have you encountered this? If there's a flaw in my approach, or an alternate method that you've found success with, also let me know!

Any advice is appreciated- thank you

Last week I posted in here asking for advice on getting worse with every PT I did (158 diagnostic, 167s after finishing lessons, to 163s and then 158 on most recent PT). After the 158 I took 3 days completely off from the test - no lessons, drills, or PTs. Rested, spent time with friends, got good sleep, enjoyed my weekend. Came back and did a PT yesterday and scored a 168, which is my highest score yet.

I just wanted to share this as I saw several comments from others sharing similar experiences and I wanted to reiterate how important it is to rest. Taking a break let me come back fresh, focused, and less stressed after burning myself out. Especially for those taking the Jan test such as myself, it's really important to take breaks, rest, and not overdue it in this last week. It's also valuable to know that this experience is common and that these waves and plateaus can happen.

Hello,

So I wrote my test in Oct and scored a 152 and then signed up for the Jan one. Around November I started taking it seriously and in the PTs 130-140s I was consistently scoring 156-158 and BR 161-163 which was improving my confidence. However once I started the PT150s my score in every section plummeted. For RC my average per section was -9 pretty consistently where my LR averaged between -7 and -9 BRing my LR around -4 and -6 per section. I took 153 and scored a 158. 154 scored 156 and just took 156 and scored a 151.

I write the LSAT in legit 4 days and now I'm panicking cuz the RCs in the 150s are so much harder than I thought and RC was my biggest issue and bringing it down to -9 was a fight.

Essentially my question is, because the 150s are closest to the modern tests, should I expect my score to between 151 and 153? What should I do? I feel like I'm out of time.

Hello everyone! I am taking the LSAT for the first time in a few weeks and it will be remotely proctored. I have a 50% additional time extension for my disability. What should I expect on test day? Will I be alone with a proctor or will there be other students there as well? Also, will I be allowed to use the highlight and cross-out answers features on the actual test? Lastly, will I be able to monitor the time I have left like I can on PTs or will I get some kind of warning about the time I have left? Any response would be much appreciated, I just want to hear from people with testing experience. Also, good luck to my fellow January test-takers!

Hi everyone-newbie here and I have been in the workforce for the last 15 years (completed Master's Degree 10 years ago), so asking for an academic letter of recommendation does not seem like the most reasonable path. I have non-academic professionals who are happy to assist, but I do not know where their focus should lie within the letters. Work Ethic, Emotional Intelligence, General Intelligence, Ambition....the list goes on and on. Any advice on what a letter from a professional should look like to help my admission into Law School?
