Earlier this evening I was waiting for the train at the Fulton St. subway station when I noticed a young woman walking towards me carrying a violet/purple colored book. The familiar color and size of the book caught my attention. I immediately pieced together my observations and assumed that it was a Kaplan test prep book. Curious to know if I was correct, I fixed my eyes on the book hoping to see the famous Kaplan logo.

The young woman continued to walk towards me and as she came closer, I caught four white letters running across the violet backstrip/spine of the book—LSAT. It was a bittersweet sight. I was pleased to see someone else studying for the LSAT, but another glimpse of the book devastated me. The mere thought of her relying on Kaplan, as her (sole) source of information, was troubling. I had to act fast and recommend this site (7sage) to her.

Luckily, she stopped near me, albeit facing in the opposite direction. So I decided to tapped her on the shoulder. After exchanging greetings, I pointed at her LSAT book and asked her when she intended to take the test. She said this upcoming September—the same day as me. I advised her to check out the awesome and highly effective video lessons on here. She took out her cellphone and proceeded to type the name of the website on her note-taking app. At first she spelled the name of the website “sevensage.com”—which I found humorous—but I quickly corrected her perfectly understandable mistake. Suddenly, we heard the sound of the train as it approached the station. We knew there was not much time left. I made one last recommendation pitch as her train arrived. She thanked me for sharing the information and assured me that she would visit the site.

I was at peace with myself during my ride home because I know I did my part. Nevertheless, I genuinely hope she listens to my recommendation and explores this wonderful site!!

The Trainer by Mike Kim?

I took my first LSAT in June 2014. And with just the help of 7Sage I got to 152 from 138. But my score is still way far from my goal. I will be taking the September test. I extended my account with 7sage but I feel I may need more .I have a very tight budget and I heard good stuff about The Trainer. Any experience with this book? Should I get the book as well?

LSAT Tutor??

Has anyone used one? How much did you pay? Was it worth the money? Was it in person or via skype? Would an LSAT buddy be just as useful?

Would love if someone could elaborate on their experiences.

Hi All,Aidin Here,

I've been studying with 7sage for about 5 months now getting ready to take the September LSAT. When taking PT's I notice that there are some concepts that I haven't fully understood and since I started with J.Y. I would like to keep his methods and not mix it up. I'm looking for someone that is In Orange County area that is scoring above 168 and that can tutor me for couple hours maybe 1,2 sessions on the things I missed out or simply couldn't understand on my own. I wouldn't mind donating for the time spent since I know everyone is busy with school/work/family. Email me please if you could be of help Firouziaidin@gmail.com

Aidin Again,

As the deadline is getting closer and I am getting busier with the LSAT I am looking for someone in Orange County or southern california area that can help me with picking schools, sending applications, looking over my material, help me with personal statement and etc. This would help tremendously by taking some weight off my shoulder with this application process. We could discuss donation amount depending on the quality and the amount of work the person is capable of. If you or anyone you know does this please send me his/her info to me Firouziaidin@gmail.com.

Thank you !

Hi Everyone,

So I don't know if it is ok to post this on here. But, I finished taking the LSAT this past June and scored VERY well. I was accepted late to my school of choice with a scholarship. Now I have SO SO SO many books and notes and PDF's of tests/notes/books that I would really like to get rid of. Let me know if you're interested. I spent a lot of money and time on these materials. If you're local (Boston) that would be best because shipping could be expensive.

If you need materials send me a message. thanks.

Hi 7Sagers!

I'm Jonathan; or, as some folks at the NYC Overlook meetup called me, "the other guy". If you've watched any problem set explanation videos, some of those are mine; I have a bunch of videos in the full test explanations as well. I've also been popping into the forums a bit more often lately, as a few of you have noticed.

As you're all aware, the LSAT is hard. And while 7Sage is awesome, sometimes you might need additional help with a certain question or concept. I've worked closely with JY and 7Sage since the beginning, and I also happen to be a full-time LSAT tutor. Rather than clutter discussions with shameless self-promotion, we thought this announcement post would be the best way to inform you folks about how to go about getting private tutoring.

You can have a lesson with me from anywhere in the world via Skype or Google Hangout. Whether you want a someone to walk you through the entire process, or just someone to talk to for an hour or two about a couple of sticking points (or anything in between!), I'm your guy.

My standard tutoring rate is $250/hour. However, due to my excellent working relationship with JY and Alan, I'm giving a 10% discount (down to $225/hour) if you're enrolled in the 7Sage program! Just send me a study buddy request and some kind of proof that you've paid for the course (any tier).

You can see testimonials from my students here:

http://brightlinelsat.com/

If you decide that you'd like to receive some tutoring, don't post in this thread - drop me a line via the contact form on my website and we'll make it happen. Be sure to include your 7Sage name and any relevant information you'd like me to know. Please also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.

See you guys around the forums, and happy studying!

Scores on retake PTs

I just got a 177 on PT 67 in a proctored environment. :D I don't know how accurate this score is since I've taken the test before (out of takes!) and know the infamous zones game very very well (drilled it at least 10 times). But hey, I guess my logic is still dead on and I'll blind review later.

RC -1

LR -3 (-1 for not bubbling due to time)

LG 0

So my question is: how happy should I be? It's a retake, so realistically, this is an inflated. I took it in early May the first time and scored a 166.

I seem to be scoring only in the 170s now. Probably because these are all retakes! My lowest score is a 173. Am I basically screwed for Sept? :(

I've been watching a lot of the logic games videos and see a difference between open ended games and those that you need to make inferences for. Are there any telling signs that you need to make inferences, or is this simply intuition you need to acquire through practice?

The study schedule gives 12 hours as the recommended time to complete the Practice Test's, complete blind review and then go over questions you missed with video explanations. I'm wondering how long this actually takes other people to accomplish? Can anyone give me a rough estimate of how long that process takes for them.

Logic games question

I am working on logic games, and they definitely seem to be the section that I need to improve the most in. One of my biggest problems is knowing when to make inferences, knowing when to split up the board, and knowing when it's time to head to the questions.

I get really intimidated by the games and don't feel confident as I work through the scenarios. I always run out of time when I time myself. Everything makes sense when I watch the games on video, but it's very hard for me to make deductions on my own.

From what I've seen on the course, repeating the same game over and over with correct inferences will allow me to make inferences in similar games. Is that really true? What would be the best thing for me to do?

Hi

Wondering if others are seeing this. There used to be a chart for how many incorrect/correct questions on the exam in LSAT Analytics. I dont see that chart anymore.

I can see where you used to be able to select if you wanted to view incorrect/correct, individual/stacked, and blind review/actual. The selections are sitting above 'Section Performance.' but the chart is missing.

I've tried a few different browsers, but am getting the same "error."

Pace for September Exam

Hi everyone. I am taking the 7sage course, and I am about halfway through. I am taking the LSAT for the second time in September and am aiming for a score in the high 160's-low 170's. I have the next two months to dedicate to this full time, and am willing to do whatever it takes to get better.

Right now, I am at the Sufficient Assumption portion of the course but am skipping ahead to finish all of the logic games sections (my weakest section). I want to finish the course as soon as possible and start taking multiple practice tests over and over. I am a little overwhelmed with needing to finish the course, do blind reviews, and do clean copies of logic games over and over.

What is a good point for me to finish the course, and am I considered behind schedule?
