Hey 7Sagers!

We're launching the beta version of the new Core Curriculum which teaches Logical Reasoning more efficiently and effectively! If you're curious, go to your account settings via this link: https://classic.7sage.com/account/?try_v2=1

  • Under "Profile Settings," put a checkmark on "Try new curriculum (beta)"
  • Click "Save Changes"
  • Click "Syllabus" and you'll be looking at the beta version!
  • Remember, this version is still undergoing beta testing. You may come across a few quirks or notice some features from Version 1 that aren't quite yet integrated. We're doing our best to fully switch over, and we appreciate your patience as our team makes the switch!

If you want to learn more, you can watch this YouTube video:

💡 Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding Version 2. If your question isn't answered on this forum post, then feel free to comment and ask below! For now, please keep all questions regarding the new Core Curriculum on this thread. If you have any feedback regarding Version 2, we'd love to hear it, too!

    So...what's the difference?

CCv2 (Core Curriculum Version 2) presents LR through a more streamlined and unified theoretical framework. It's not completely different from CCv1, but we've thoroughly explained LR in CCv2. The RC and LG lessons of both CCv1 and CCv2 are the same.

The new core lessons use LR questions from PrepTests 61-65, so if you're down to your last few clean PTs and they happen to be those, then this probably isn't for you. But if you're not worried about running out of clean PTs, then this is a great opportunity to see what we've been cooking up!

Can I switch back to Version 1 if I want to?

Yes! If you would like to switch back to the old Core Curriculum, scroll to the top of our "Syllabus" page and click the "Switch to V1" button. It's next to the "Collapse" button.

    Should I immediately switch?

We think yes. Since Version 2 teaches Logical Reasoning more efficiently and effectively, we recommend switching to CCv2 completely. Please note that the RC and LG lessons of both CCv1 and CCv2 are the same. What's changed are the Foundations and Logical Reasoning lessons. Additionally, the new lessons use LR questions from PrepTests 61-65, so if you're down to your last few clean PTs and they happen to be those, then this probably isn't for you. But if you're not worried about running out of clean PTs, then this is a great opportunity to see what we've been cooking up!

I've already completed Version 1. Should I go back and redo Version 2?

In this situation, the best way to utilize Version 2 is to look at which question types in your analytics you think you should prioritize, and then view the new lessons for that question type. For example, if your analytics say that you should prioritize Sufficient Assumption questions, then go study and review the new lessons on Sufficient Assumptions.

Version 2 is shorter than Version 1. Should I be worried?

Not at all! JY has explained the Logical Reasoning lessons in Version 2 in a more efficient manner. The RC and LG sections are still the same.

I'm around halfway through LR in Version 1. Should I switch over to Version 2 to complete LR, or should I stick with Version 1?

With where Version 2 is right now, we think you'll get the most out of your studies by switching over. There's no need to redo modules that you've already done, unless you find yourself needing a refresher, but we think that Version 2 approaches LR in a more unified theoretical framework, which can help with your learning process!

    I can't find CCv2 in my Syllabus!

Email our student services and let them know (studentservice@7sage.com). They can switch your account on the back end.

Are the lessons in CCv2 fully complete?

Yes! CCv2 is fully complete and you can use it without switching back to CCv1.

Why are there no video lessons for the Foundation lessons?

JY is currently in the process of recording video lessons for the Foundation lessons. Stay tuned for updates on their availability!

I just wanted input from someone who may be in the same situation as mine.

I took the April exam and registered for the June on already. Whether you are in the same situation or not, would one

be kidding themselves if your goal is to gain 8-13 points with the studying that can happen in the time gap between now and the June exam?

Would you hold taking the June exam and postpone it (as well as your law school journey)?

How does the score conversion work? Like if only 3 sections count, are they accounting for the fourth that we take, assuming we don't take it 'simulated modern'? Or do they just completely not count the experimental section as the actual LSAT would?

Hi - anyone else experiencing this?

When I'm trying to add a class onto my Google calendar using the link from the class session's page, it does take me to my Gcalendar, but it adds the entire 7Sage class calendar to mine. It subscribes me to the 7Sage class calendar so that they all appear, unless I deselect the 7Sage calendar. There's no way for me to pick and choose the class I want, which is the way it used to work for me.

    Hi everyone!

Like most people here, my desire to attend law school is rooted in how much I want to help people. Back in 2020, I applied to law school and was rejected and waitlisted at all the law schools I applied to. Feeling defeated, I delayed a cycle and considered staying in my current career. However, so many posts on here encouraged me to try again. To my surprise, this year I have been accepted into 3 law schools, one of them being my top choice: Washington and Lee!

Just want to encourage everyone on here that if its meant for you, it will come. Do not give up hope!

    Thank you 7Sage!

The new version prompt is not appearing on my syllabus. A youtube video explanation of it briefly appeared then disappeared. How do I change over?

    Thanks

So, I started using the V2 of the CC, and I absolutely love it. This is what I have been wanting and looking for.

It was a great idea to do a lesson on the question type, show a question being done, and then have us try it with a video of the explanation afterwards! This is excellent!

The transcript after the video is an amazing way to reinforce what we just watched. It is also perfect for those who can't watch the video for whatever reason and they would rather have a transcript to read of what was said in the video.

I will edit this when I have more feedback.

I do have a question, for the drilling after the lesson, when is it a good time to move on to the next lesson? How many questions should we get right? Should we do all variations of drills such as easiest, easier, med and so on?

Link: will be posted here ~15 minutes before session start

Previous thread was getting a bit long in the tooth, so starting a new one! Face cameras are gently encouraged - it's a lot easier to have a conversation that way.

    =============

Hi everyone! About a year ago, I decided it would be cool to run some office hours and help some folks out, and so far I think a bunch of people have gotten good stuff out of our discussions so I'm continuing to run them. If you've ever wanted to talk through an issue with a high-end tutor but couldn't afford top-end tutoring rates, here's your chance to get that perspective.

Who Am I/Why Should You Listen To Me?

I scored 175 on the September 2006 LSAT (-4 RC, -2 LR, -0 LG), graduated from Columbia Law School in 2010, spent a year on fellowship with a judge in Bronx Supreme Court Criminal Division while teaching LSAT on the side, and have been teaching the LSAT full time since September 2011. I worked with JY on PreProBono and in the early years of 7Sage, was a 7Sage "Approved Tutor" for the entire life of that categorization, and am the only person other than JY himself who has ever had an instructional video published on 7Sage's live site. I have also been the lead tutor and LSAT department chair of a high-end private tutoring boutique here in NYC. Some of my writing still resides in the "Sage Advice" section of this forum, so go check it out if you're interested.

Over the past decade-plus, I have amassed over 8,000 hours of combined classroom-based and one-on-one LSAT teaching experience, working with a diverse set of students from across the USA and all around the world - Canada, Brazil, Netherlands, England, France, Qatar, Korea, and China just to name a few. The best score increase I've ever achieved with a student is +36 (136 -> 172). I've sent students to every t14 school except for Stanford (my white whale! they rejected me back when I was applying too), as well a wide variety of other schools across the United States and Canada, including at least one student to Harvard in 12 of my 13 full years of doing this (as of April 2023).

If you listen to the 7Sage Podcast, you may have heard my name mentioned in episode #67 - Vanessa (138 -> 169) was my student.

    How Can I Join?

I'll put up a video chat link above when the time comes, and take it down when we're done.

    When Will These Be Happening?

I currently intend for this to be a weekly thing, but the timing will vary depending on the other moving pieces of my schedule. It's not likely that every time will work for everyone, but I will at least attempt to switch it up so that anyone interested can make it at least some of the time. I currently live in New York, but I am a born and raised Californian so I understand the tyranny of Eastern Time very well, so don't worry West Coasters - I'm thinking of you guys too.

    What Can I Ask?

Anything is fair game - general theory questions, questions about individual questions, macro questions about how to study/study trajectory, questions about what hair products I use, etc. Feel free to DM me questions in advance as well.

"Spoilers" (questions from more recent tests that not everyone might have gotten to yet) will be handled on a case by case basis. Over the past year or so of running office hours almost every week, I haven't found them to be too much of an issue, so I won't attempt to handle a crisis that hasn't cropped up yet.

    Will This Be Recorded/Uploaded Somewhere?

No plans for recording at this time.

    What Will This Cost Me?

Nothing but your time. Happy to help.

What If I Have Another Question?

Fire away! In this thread or in DM.

I took the LSAT last year and scored a 140. This is a poor score because I didn't get to do as much studying because I was working and in school full time. I plan on taking the LSAT in June and I have been studying. I'm trying to break the 150's.

Anyone got any tips and tricks? Was anyone else scoring this poorly? (My GPA was a 3.7 and I have plenty of law firm experience it's just I'm struggling with this exam).

I created two LR drilling sessions on advanced drilling mode and did the questions.

On both of those sessions I got several questions incorrect.

To practice just the incorrect ones, I switched over to auto build drill mode:

  • selected LR
  • no. of questions to 10
  • limited to incorrect when last taken - drilling pool - 0
  • The drilling pool was zero and I could not create a drilling session using Auto Build.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Hi! Is it wise to go through all of the drills or problem sets in a class while you're studying the set? Or is it better to learn the material/watch the question run-throughs and then spread out the drills throughout the week? An example would be the MSS Question Class set in the LR section. I feel if I do all 12 of the MSS problem sets spread out (maybe 2-3 a day), it'll help refresh my memory more often instead of doing it all at once and then not touching it until I take a PT.

I just opened the website to a notification that I should try the quicker + better way to learn logic with 7sage's beta 2 version. I edited my settings but lost all progress, I try to return to the lesson I was working on and it says "not included in subscription" , I tried to undo the update but the checkbox disappears from settings the second you open the page?

I want to undo this beta version and just go back to my progress on standard. #help #admin

I am retaking the LSAT this summer and I am afraid of ProctorU Interruptions.

I was interrupted multiple times during my first test and honestly thinking about it gives me anxiety. She kept on telling me to move, reposition myself, and readjust my computer during LG and RC. This messed up my concentration and wasted time. I even had to re-read some RC passages which wasted even more time.

Is there a way we can avoid Proctor Interruptions?

(I did not file a complaint with LSAC or ask for a retake which I regret)

Hello! I just signed up for 7Sage and I look forward to diving in! I’m curious about the new Core Curriculum V2 Beta. Is it safe for me to start here if I have no former LSAT experience? Should I wait to take the Practice Tests until after I’m through the CC? I notice V2 takes significantly less time than V1. Should I worry about this?

    Thank you in advance!

Hey all! I’m taking the April test this Friday and I was wondering about the writing test if I need to complete it before I take the test on Friday? How long is the writing test opened for? I was hoping to take the writing test next week or the last week of April before the score releases in May.

Hello all, I have been asking my friends who are in law school when to retake the lsat. They suggested I take the August 2023 exam and take the September 2023 exam as a back up. But I am worried that wouldn’t be the smartest choice to make. I work full time and try to maintain a healthy lifestyle but I’m not sure if that is the right decision to make as I have little time in between that month to study. Should I wait an additional month before retaking? Thank you!

Does anyone know of any good tutors? Planning to take the test in august, but want a tutor to help fill the gaps I'm not seeing or know how to fix on my own.
