lets just say this is a weaken question and only taking the answers C and E. Would E technically weaken because it can provide an alternative hypothesis?

if an answer choice talked about barbu's agreeable and an extra opinion, would that be right or wrong answer. because on one hand it would not be from snell, but on the other Barbu shares Snell's beliefs.

So could we think of the weakening answers this way. Essentially the conclusion of the stimulus is a hypothesis that could be true. But the answer choice is another hypothesis or (conclusion) that could be true. BUT because when know the answer choice is true, it makes the support stronger for the answer choice hence weakening the conclusion in the stimulus?
