I was on A for the majority of the question, and then bam, B convinced me. I'm so ashamed.

Honestly guys, this was one that POE came in handy. The prescriptive assumptions did nothing to the argument, and B was too strong. And like JY said on E. Who cares?

Link Assumptions have been a massive thorn in my side this entire process. And I don't what to review to improve those.

4/5 on hardest difficulty, but in the previous drill I got 2/5 and 3/5. I know the hardest difficulty isn't going to be every question but man I wish I had the strokes of genius every time.

In my heart, I wanted A. In my gut, I wanted A. Everything about it screamed A. Yet my behavior chose D. It's me, hi, I'm the problem, it's me.

What I'm gathering is if the Question Stem centers on properly drawing the conclusion then it is sufficient. If it makes no mention of it and centers on the argument as a whole, then it is a necessary assumption question.

I selected B only to select E in Blind Review even after telling myself, it has to be a sufficiency-necessity confusion. Why do I do this to myself?

Might be too late of a response for you, but if anyone else sees this; I picked A as well. If you did, too, ask yourself whether or not the answer was actually addressing the conclusion. I picked A because it sounded great, but it only sounded great because I had already read it, in the stimulus. It added nothing new. It didn't help me get to the conclusion of smoking cigarettes -> /help.

I believe this explanation could have been better because JY is saying that one overinclusive answer is better than the other. But I believe it comes down to the conditional relationship of SC -> /H. And if you did the outline, you would find that we need to bridge the gap between the conditional statements laid out in the premises and link them to the conclusion. E does that. I was frustrated because I got it wrong in blind review as well. I was so confident.

Can all LSAT questions be Principle questions please?

How did I get this right and the last one wrong?

I know he said "you can't predict this" but as someone who is in long-term therapy, I immediately thought of C without seeing the answer choices.

Some Motivation for You Guys

I just wanted to pop in here and see if I can help motivate you guys. I took a practice test yesterday, and I got a 155. No improvement over when I last took one. But it was my first test through 7Sage. I noticed something. Of all the answers I got wrong. it was really only 5 question types that tripped me up. Doing the math, if I had improved my performance on those questions, I would have easily tested over 165, and possibly even 170 barring silly mistakes I made and two skipped questions.

All this is to say, you may think that your score is way too low, and that you need to work on EVERYTHING. But the difference between my 155 and a 165 could have been resolved with merely 3 question type reviews. That's not to say fixing these issues will be easy, and I'll run in to other question types that seem to be getting in my way. But use the tags on the PTs, take note of where you're getting tripped up. You may find that your 155 was closer to a 170 than you initially thought.

I didn't get everything right, but the fact it says I was 51 seconds faster than the target on question 11 for me is just insanity.

How is this one not rated as more difficult than the previous question? I got it right, but bro.

Here is what I got from this: If a group is governed by a set of rules, and something is later found out to not be governed by those rules, that individual is not a member of the group, and is governed by a separate unknown set of rules.

This was the first time I truly felt the need to actually diagram the lawgic. Luckily I got the answer right, but could have saved myself valuable seconds diagraming. Happy to have found the use.

I'm wondering the same thing. But then I realized that it is a general rule to increase the damages owed based on the amount of time deprived of the property. It doesn't exactly qualify as a case-by-case basis.

It means you know what the answer is, but you may be rushing yourself. Take these practices as an opportunity to make sure you're applying what you've learned to find the right answer. Speed will come with practice.

We're not thinking of it purely quantitatively. We're thinking of it in terms of logic. All is sufficient enough to guarantee that "most" occurs. "Most" is necessary for "all" to occur, but not sufficient enough to guarantee it.

Does the translation to Lawgic really matter on questions that require us to take just over a minute to answer? It seems like while training ourselves to translate to Lawgic is taking away the ability to do this kind of translation in our head without having to learn extra formatting.

I just used cmd+shift+4 on my Mac and dragged it over for a screenshot.
