When we all tackle a tough question together.

If you are done the curriculum or almost done the curriculum, join us when you can. We welcome people in all stages of prep. The point of the group is to get your lsat nerd on with other like-minded people and make the process more fun. Expand your thinking and learning by interacting with others! For my fellow shy-people, everyone is going to be focused on their own answers/questions that I guarantee you they will not be judging you based on mispronounced words, reading-speed, etc. It's all for fun!

Note: Take the PT under timed conditions; BR to the best of your abilities; join us for all or part of the call! For the purposes of the group please don't check the answers beforehand. If you happen to know the answer, keep it to yourself, and win the argument using your reasoning. Also, please don't go "so I know the answer is C but I don't know why B is wrong?" as the purpose is so that we all collaborate on improving our reasoning skills.

Enter the questions you wish to go over on the spreadsheet below! Write your name beside the question(s) you wish to cover, if the question(s) you want to cover are already marked by someone else, add your name! :) The more discussion, the merrier.

Based off of my experience and deliberation with some other folks, we're going to try something new for this group. Instead of having a call every week, we will instead have a call every other week. The reason being is that I think that the process of taking a PT, BR-ing it thoroughly, and doing drills to address weaknesses that were ascertained from that PT/BR can be really taxing when repeated weekly. I noticed, among myself and regulars on the call, that having the call scheduled every week really exacerbated burnout. Especially since people would try to force themselves to attend as many calls as possible because they felt they'd be missing out and would neglect signs of burnout. I realize that this means there won't be as many calls but this was a decision made after much deliberation. After all, PTs are just a snapshot of your understanding, the bulk of your learning happens in BR and drilling. Of course, people are free to take a PT or two every week if they need to.

Hello San Diegans,

I'm looking to start a study group in San Diego where we can BR together either in person or on video chat. I've found BR calls on 7sage to be very helpful and I would love to do something similar with local LSAT students. It would probably be once every two weeks and we can BR full PTs and/or timed sections.

This week's call will be led by @"paulmv.benthem"

This is our last BR SG review call before September so make sure to ask as many questions as you can!

Next week will be a pep rally where people can ask specific questions about test-day conditions and just as a general good luck for everyone taking the September exam.

If you are thinking of delaying, withdrawing, or taking both, there will also be a November group that starts on September 20th. Here's the link to it: https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/17311/november-lsat-2018-br-study-group/p1

If you have any suggestions for changes you would like to be made to November group, message me and I will try my best to accomodate :)

Hello all,

I have been leading the September 2018 study group since June (!) and as d-day is getting closer, I'm happy (?) to announce that I will also be leading BR calls for November 2018 LSAT. This group will be starting a week after the September LSAT (Sep 8) so that people who took or were preparing for September can have a week to rest. We will start on September 20th, which is a Thursday night, at 7:30 PM EST.

If you are interested in joining, please comment down below. If the time chosen most absolutely cannot ever work for you, please message me ASAP so that if there's enough people we can change timing or set up an alternate private group for you. Also, if you are just starting to or about to start PT-ing, this schedule will mainly focus on PTs from 70s and 80s, so PLEASE make sure you do some 40s and 50s before just jumping into the recent tests. Also, this schedule is not meant to be followed rigidly so be sure to take breaks when you need to to combat burnout. PTs are just a guage of your skill, they are not sufficient by themselves, to improve your score. You also need to supplement PTs will timed and untimed drills to solidify your strengths and conquer your weaknesses. As equally important is the need for a thorough BR. This means that you go over every question you were unsure of during timed conditions and write or type out your reasoning. Break down the structure of the stimulus, what the question requires for you, and use your reasoning to eliminate four answer choices and keeping one. This is done so that your reasoning is right in front of you and you can reinforce the right reasoning and get rid of the wrong one. A thorough BR does not consist of "oh well had I looked at it for 2 more seconds, I would've picked D instead of B" you are only doing yourself a disservice.

Here is the tentative schedule: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=o5h8pap75saf8pmasoh80m2a80%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America%2FToronto

Here's how the BR groups work:

If you are done the curriculum or almost done the curriculum, join us when you can. We welcome people in all stages of prep. The point of the group is to get your lsat nerd on with other like-minded people and make the process more fun. Expand your thinking and learning by interacting with others! It's all for fun!

Take the PT under timed conditions; BR to the best of your abilities; join us for all or part of the call! We will also discuss strategies for getting faster at certain question types.

There will be a spreadsheet posted when we first start PT-ing (so the week of the 20th). Enter the questions you wish to go over on the spreadsheet! Write your name beside the question(s) you wish to cover, if the question(s) you want to cover are already marked by someone else, add your name! :) The more discussion, the merrier. Generally, we only got through one section each session.

We will be using go-to-meeting (access kindly provided by 7sage) and the link will be the same throughout the entire run of the group. It will also be posted on the first week we start.

Oh yes, and also be sure you have watched Josh's seminar on post-CC strategies: https://classic.7sage.com/webinar/post-core-curriculum-study-strategies/

Edit: Also! If you change your username after posting here please inform me, the system does not automatically change old posts made with older usenames with newer ones.

Update: Based off of my experience and deliberation with some other folks, we're going to try something new for this group. There is a tentative schedule posted and it has been amended accordingly.

Hey, everyone! A few of us had a BR Skype call last week to review a PT, and I think it's safe to say that we found it to be pretty helpful. I will be taking PT 73 and 74 this week, so this is an open invitation for either PT on Sunday (8/19)! Lmk if you'd like to join.

September'18 Study Group | Blind Review PT 79 | Friday, August 10th | 7:30 PM EST

Hey everyone! For those that are unaware, there is going to be an AMA (Ask me Anything) on Thursday, August 9th 9:00 PM ET with JY and David Busis. That will probably conflict with our review session. So! If you plan on joining the group for the review session of PT 79, please vote on whether you would like to start our session early on Thursday (6:30 PM ET) or would like to have our session on Friday, August 10th instead.

Edit: As per the vote, our meeting will be Friday, August 10 7pm EST (Yay democracy)

Also, if you are interested in attending the AMA here is the link, you have to register beforehand so please be sure to do so :) https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/17112/ama-webinar-with-david-and-j-y-thursday-aug-9-9-p-m-et

Hey, everyone! I have been seeing a lot of posts for people wanting to do Skype sessions in general, but I would love to get one going for this weekend. I'm thinking about doing a PT somewhere around 70.

If you're interested, please comment with the time/timezone you're available, biggest strengths, and biggest opportunities. Basically, any important info that will help us work together best is perfect to mention.

As for me: My biggest strength is the RC level 4 and 5 passages. Easy ones lead me to confidence errors. My biggest struggles are weakening questions, MSS, and setting up misc LG game boards.

:) Sam

EDIT: We are doing PT 72! Get excited!

September'18 Study Group | Blind Review PT 75 | Thursday, August 2nd | 7:30 PM EST

Hope everyone is well rested! I took 4 days off and it was truly magical (yes I was still on 7sage)! If you're feeling burnt out - which is generally a combination of some form of frustration, dissapointment, anger, exhaustion, difficulty doing the most basic stuff - then take a B R E A K! There will always be other official test dates you can take, you can always apply to another cycle and save more money meanwhile.

What kind of flawed reasoning is Leslie (the blond one) employing?

We will be sticking to the schedule and doing PT 75 this week. If you took PT 71 and really want to discuss it then comment or message me and if there's more than one person, we can set something up :)

Hello! I'm planning to give my LSAT in October (Asia) and am looking for a Skype study partner. I've gotten really good at LR with a consistent -0/-1, but I'm terrrible at RC (-5 to -7). If there's anyone out there who's really good at RC and needs help with LR, maybe we could help each other out?

I guess you can say that I am starting out. I'm going to be testing in November and more than likely January as well. I decided that September was unrealistic. We can get a small group going where we can all work on problems together and help each other get through this madness. I feel really optimistic about this exam and believe we can do well. Feel free to contact me here or look me up on Instagram. My name is LawSkewlProbs on IG. Hope to hear from some of your soon.

Hey all!

Just wanted to let everyone know in advance that we will be having our discussion this week on Friday July 20th. The reason being is that JY himself, our mighty leader, is leading BR calls for PT84 (which was the June 2018 LSAT) this week from Monday to Thursday. So for those who took the June LSAT, or will be taking July in a couple of weeks, this is a great chance to BR with JY. Those who attended the RC webinar calls back in May know what an opportunity this is. Therefore, we will have our call on Friday to accomodate those who may want to attend. Sorry for the inconvenience! P.S. Did you see how I made an argument here with a conclusion and premises? It's not valid so it involves assumptions so don't come @ me in the comments.

Here's the link to the discussion https://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/16810/pt84-br-sessions-with-j-y-lr-sections-only

Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy this EXTRA day to BR/drills/take a day off.

The writers should be more like Terry.

Hi, so I've been plateauing in the high 160s for a while and I'm studying for the September LSAT. I've been jumping around for PTs and so far I"ve done like 30 but haven't touchedI77-80s and there are a bunch in the high 46-50s I haven't done. Is someone down to BR some of those PTs? I work full time, but I'm going to start taking three day weekends. So I'm going to take the test Friday morning and try to BR 1/2 sections Friday afternoon, the rest on Saturday and maybe do some drills on Sunday, but I could BR too. Does that schedule line up with anyone else's and would anyone maybe want to skype to BR? I'm in Queens NY so let me know!
