Hey Everyone,
As promised I am starting the free LR tutoring. The first session will be on July 9th at 3 pm (eastern time).
The goal of these sessions is to go over one cookie cutter argument type each week. A cookie cutter argument is an argument that logically repeats on each test. The LSAT writers use different subject matter or grammar or both to disguise their logical shape in the stimulus and make it difficult for us. Sometimes they even have more than one cookie cutter argument in the stimulus. But the logic works pretty much the same way. Recognizing these patterns and knowing how the answers might shape up according to the question type is what helps gives us speed on LSAT.
The first session will be conducted on conditional logic. This is, in my opinion, one of the easier patterns to grasp. This would allow us to go over what cookie cutter arguments are and how conditional logic patterns appear throughout different question types. This will also give me a good idea of how to improve the next sessions.
After that, I have the next three session also ready to go. I am hoping to do each week a new session. The second one is on causal arguments, followed by Phenomena Hypothesis, and then Partial information ( I made up this name). These are the main ones and in my opinion occur most frequently on test. Depending on how these sessions go, I can work on doing the other patterns as well or we could stop there.
There is no minimum or maximum number of people. I welcome everybody. The questions will be made available on the screens for all to see so you don't have to bring in anything. I will be pulling questions from the older practice tests, PT 30-39. So this will not ruin fresh PT's for anyone as these tests are mainly used for drilling. However, you will get more out of these sessions if you have done the core curriculum. This will help you add on to the information you already know and you do need to know the basics of how conditional arguments work as well as what it means to strengthen/weaken, find the flaw, and see what must be true.
I am actually really excited to see how this shapes up and I hope this will be helpful to all of you. Preparing for these sessions from scratch was actually a lot of work so I am hoping this helps a lot of you out.

New September Study group! First up: PT 60
This group is for 12 people who are committed to studying and improving their test performance for the September 2017 LSAT. The schedule (which we'll go over on Saturday) is tentative and so you will have a say in the PT schedule and future meeting times. Our aim will be to take at least 10 prep tests from the 60s, 70s, and PT 81. I want the group to be able to tailor the study schedule to meet its specific needs. If you want a say about the date and time that we meet, you need to attend the meetings. Workshops and intensives to eliminate weaknesses will also be made available to the study group. We also have the option to build in a few breaks.

While Josh will continue to handle (primarily) LR from the old PTs, I'll now be hosting an RC-focused Oldies but Goodies, following Josh's PT schedule along the way. Eye-roll-inducing, artsy fartsy passages? Obnoxiously dull and dizzying science passages? Inference Questions? Obligatory GIFs?? Yes to all!!

The efficiency last week was awesome. I think the google form worked greatly to streamline the process and cut down on wasted time contemplating which questions to cover. The only thing I'd like to see improve is the number of people who are actually contributing on the calls. I just want to remind you all that at some point these will stop being public and the open door policy will cease to exist. If you want to stick around you have to contribute and pull your own weight. There has been 4-7 (regular) individuals talking so far and 15+ on the call. If you vote for a question for review, I want you available to discuss it.

We are launching new study groups, and also making a few adjustments in order to make these an even better resource. With lots of new workshops happening, it seemed like study groups could be tweaked in order to provide a more distinct experience. So instead of open sessions—which really is not how study groups work at all—we will coordinate groups openly on the forums to allow groups to bring members in, and then close groups once a core membership has been established. We hope this promotes a larger number of groups which will be smaller, more intimate, and better able to develop unique dynamics and close working relationships. So keep an eye out for the new groups forming soon, and many more to come!

Tonight I am hosting an informal "kick-off" of sorts. I want to get everyone who thinks they will be committed to this group in the call to discuss our goals and desires for how to make this study group as beneficial as possible.

Above is a link to my tentative BR schedule. I have options of both 5 and 6 section PT's. It's kind of hard to follow so maybe don't look into that area too much since I'll be discussing it in detail tonight to see what you guys think. PRIVATE September Study Group
Hello all,
Please review the information below and if interested, leave a comment and message me directly and you will be considered for the group.
I will be starting a private September study group. This study group will be unique and different from the official 7sage study groups. I’m composing this post in search of 6-8 dedicated LSAT students who are willing to meet on a weekly basis. THIS WILL BE YOUR TEAM FOR THE NEXT 4 MONTHS. I want to establish a close knit team based study group to hold each other accountable, keep each other honest, and provide each other a friendly but competitive push when needed. I will be selecting students from the community to join our group. The smaller than average group size will allow for a more personal and efficient studying atmosphere.
The study group will be reviewing LR on a weekly basis. We will gauge interest with RC and LG in order to determine if those will be reviewed.
Requirements:
Must be able to meet almost every Saturday night from now until September. If you are thinking “what the hell, I hang out with my hubby on Saturday nights” or “Saturdays are my drinking nights.” This is not the study group for you! I understand occasionally there will be obligations such as work, weddings, or something of the like. This is not a problem, and we fully understand. But you must be present when possible. Meetings will be at 7pm EST on Saturdays.
Must be dedicated to taking the assigned PT for the week, and must be able to work on problem areas during the week to ensure you are ready to take the PT for the following week. The only exception to this rule is if you have not been able to fully understand and address problem areas from the previous test. I believe sticking to an assigned PT schedule without properly working on problem areas is a poor way to approach the LSAT.
Must have basic LSAT knowledge including but not limited to: question types, identifying conclusions/premises, conditional statements, et cetera.
Must be finished with the CC.
Must be motivated and driven.
Must be in a quiet place to review. Do not be at a busy starbucks or your local cafe.
Must be able to download the discord app. We will be using this app to keep an open dialogue throughout the week.
Must have access to a computer and a microphone. Apple iphone headphones will usually do the trick. We will not be using GOTOMEETING like the other 7sage groups. Therefore, there will be no phone line to call in from so you must be able to communicate by other means. If this changes, I will keep you guys posted.
NOT REQUIRED:
A certain PT score is not required. Study groups work best if there are members on different levels. We are happy to take the 140 scoring student under our wings.
You are not required to take the September LSAT. Although, which PTs we take will be determined with September in mind.
How will you determine who is in the private study group?
We will be selecting from members who have posted below and messaged me directly. Our goal is to ensure the best possible score come September and to create the best studying dynamic for all of us. I, and one other, will keep these in mind when determining who should have access to the group.
I will notify those selected by the end of the week. We will hold an orientation this weekend to discuss testing assignments, which communication apps to download, and any other questions or concerns anyone has.

I am a relatively new 7sager.
I am interested in finding some private tutoring a la the 7sage approved tutor list.
My question is where can I find a relevant list? It seems the most recent list of sages is over a year old. Did I miss something? Are there now longer 7sage tutors like in previous years?
If anyone knows or can point me in the direction of a tutor I would be most appreciate.

Please do not burn PT 80 if you are not going to take the June test and if you have not been PTing at a level that you want to test at. We will be reviewing advanced material so you need to understand and have a good grasp on the fundamentals if you're going to be reviewing PT 80. Be prepared to be an active participant and to explain your reasoning.
