Some standardized test score disappear after 5 yrs right? Is it true for LSAT?

I heard we can take it 3 times within 5 yrs...is it because they reset test scores?

How do they calculate this?

Like, if people take it for 4 times...does that mean it took them more than 5 years for LSAT?

7sagers! I'm an old-timer from the bygone days. Just wanted to say hello and wish you all the very best on tomorrow's "PT". Remember! Don't make it more than it is. All of your conditioning and rigorous mental preparation will reap glorious benefits.

I remember the good ole days when I thought the LSAT was all around me.

Here's proof!

Anyways. Good Luck! <3

Nervous about the September LSAT?

I understand. You're going to take an important test. It's not the most important test though. That one is called the December LSAT.

Just kidding. This is likely the last LSAT you'll ever take.

I'm only trying to remind you that for something this important, there are second chances. That's not true for a lot of other important things in life, so that's something to feel good about.

For most of you, you already know what score you'll get. Take your last three recent properly administered LSAT PrepTests (e.g., 76, 77, 78) and average your scores. You'll get plus or minus 3 points of that average.

There is nothing separating you from that score except the mere passing of a few day's time.

You are as prepared as you can be. You have already seen everything those crafty LSAT writers will throw at you and you've amply demonstrated your ability to respond with craftiness of your own.

Saturday will be just another PT day and the September 2016 LSAT will be just another PT. PrepTest 79, in fact, when the LSAC releases it a month from now. And how different could that be from PT 78 and PT 77 and PT 76 and on and on and on.

You are ready.

Even for those few insanely difficult curve breaker questions. Every LSAT has them. Every student who has ever taken the LSAT before you has encountered them. You have encountered them on your PTs and you will encounter them again on Saturday. Do what you've always done: skip. Keep moving. Maintain your rhythm.

And may the force of logic be with you.

How long is the LSAT?

Hey guys! I will be taking the test on Saturday. I know the 35 min sections along with the break, but how long can I expect to be at the testing facility? I am taking it at a smaller location. So hopefully that will make it a little shorter! Right?

BR Study Groups

I have a few questions for the regular BR folks. I think I need to implement these BR calls into my studies if only to keep me on track with PT. I've only attended maybe 2 calls because I didn't feel like I was benefiting. Not that the group is useless, it's just that I was having a hard time following I guess. I'll explain because that didn't even may sense as I was typing it. When I complete the test I come to the BR session with the questions that I've circled and still had issues with during my own BR. This is where my issue begins. When going over my question with the group I have no idea what or why I was thinking what I was thinking during the PT or BR. Going over the stimulus and AC seem rushed because you can't hold up everybody for 5 mins on your question especially if you're the only one with an issue on that question. Eventually someone tells you why the right AC is right, but I'm not able to digest that at that moment. Yes I could write down why I chose my AC and read that during the session but I just have a hard time truly comprehending the right and wrong AC when I don't really remember the stimulus. Does this sound similar for anyone else? What do the regulars do to prepare for BR calls?

LSAT Ticket Picture

So I'm sitting for tomorrow, and looked at my ticket. I saw on the LSAC site that the photo must fill the 2x2 box. By looking at my picture, my photo fills the box 2 inches vertically, but only and inch and a half vertically. Is this something to lose my shit about????

Question about resume

UC Berkeley application resume description - "The resume may be of any length and should provide chronological information about your work experiences, *travels*, and accomplishments".

Travels? Do they really want a bulletpoint list of the countries I've travelled to? or some sort of story about how traveling broadened my horizons o.O

Hey everyone,

I just started the Core Curriculum and its been good to me! However, I was hoping for some clarification. When doing LR or RC are we actually supposed to take note of the grammar and phrasing stuff mentally (i.e. in my head say okay this is the subject and this is the verb or okay this is referring back to this concept)?

Or is this just drill stuff and that is unnecessary?

Thanks!

Good Luck!

For those taking the exam tomorrow, you are going to own it. Know you will own it. Be confident; approach every question with the mindset of "I will get this question correct." Trust yourself.

Tonight, relax. Go see a movie; get a good nights sleep. Tomorrow night, celebrate.

4

So I have heard the first 10 questions are easiest and you should just pick the ans. you think correct without seeing other choices bc correct ans is so obvious...

Is this still true today?

And if so on average how long do you take per question in this range?

Thanks

Wear a watch or not?

I have never worn a watch or checked on my time when taking a PT. I always thought it would throw me off my game and distract me to check on the time. Now I am taking the LSAT tomorrow and seeing everyone say they're going to wear a watch. Need advice on whether I should go out and buy one or not. Also I feel like my test center may have a clock on the wall. During the LSAT do the proctors write on the board what time we start and stop a section at?

I am surprised to learn that we have a number of limitations on how we can use the purchased PTs from LSAC. Basically, no copying, no reselling, etc. Have anyone considered the first sale doctrine for copyrighted material. "The first sale doctrine, codified at 17 U.S.C. § 109, provides that an individual who knowingly purchases a copy of a copyrighted work from the copyright holder receives the right to sell, display or otherwise dispose of that particular copy, notwithstanding the interests of the copyright owner." So, I am curious why this doctrine does not apply in the context of the Practice Tests!?

Is anyone taking the February 2017 LSAT and looking for a study partner? I am looking for a study partner in the DC Metro and Northern VA area. I prefer to meet in person but am flexible with meeting online/phone when necessary. I am using the 7Sage Ultimate Course and am looking for someone to study, take tests with, and just a mutually supportive partner(ship). I live in the Arlington VA area

I just wanted a little clarification on the correct answer. I previously chose A as my answer choice, however the correct answer is E. The reason why I didn't choose E is because E refers to "cultural trends". Would cultural trends apply to fashion trends that the stimulus was referring to? I was a bit skeptical about this and therefore got it wrong :( Please explain! Thank you :)

LG Chart?

Hey guys,

Got this email in today from a 7Sager and I thought you could help! Here it is:

----------

Hi there!

I have been watching your Logic Games explanations for a while but just recently for the first time I saw a game with the "chart"... none of the prep books I used ever mentioned a "chart" but when I watch your explanations I'm thinking "wow these charts are so much more organized and helpful!"

BUT my test is in 3 days...lol and I am not used to thinking right away to do this kind of chart.. do you have any tips at all as to when I should be triggered to make one of these charts?

Thank you in advance.

Finding The Assumption

I have been doing the CC and have stumbled a bit on the strengthen portion of things. Once I hit the 3 star questions, I was getting about 60 percent correct, which is not at all where I want to be. I realize that much of my problem stems from the inability to find that assumption to bridge the gap between premise and conclusion. Is there anything you guys do that helps in establishing this bridge? I know that you will never necessarily find the bridge perfectly, but I would at least like to get better at it to have a greater chance.

Thank you.

I swear I am not dumb

I swear I am not dumb, but I have been practicing and learning since May. I just took a full test this morning and score was 147.. i usually range in the 155 range. I feel horrible considering my goal was to be at 160-165 range. I read books, took preps, reviewed my mistakes, learned from them, I'm a 4.0 senior at University of Michigan. Every LR section I miss 5 questions due to running out of time.. almost every Comprehension section I rush to finish all 4 and make many mistakes. Im great at LG but because of limited time I end up with a bad score. I honestly feel hopeless now especially since I haven't seen any progress in the past 4 months. what can I do? where to start? how to regain energy after such an upsetting score.
