I know there are keywords for specific problems, but I don't know if theres an easy way to locate them using those keywords. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just started PT and I'm not able to complete the LR sections. That's not surprising to me at all. I figured that my speed would pick up as I take more PT. I generally only get to about question 15-16 before running out of time and guessing on the rest. Because I'm not finishing the sections my scores are shot. My BR for LR is roughly 19 and up. My BR score leads me to believe that there's still room for improvement with fundamentals. Of the questions that I do complete before time runs out, I only miss maybe 2-3 for both sections. So, my question for you guys, does it seem like I have an issue with just timing, or both timing and fundamentals? I know I'm spending too much time on questions, but I'm getting them right! LOL The questions at the beginning of the sections are typically easier questions though, so Idk if getting them right means too much (I mean every correct answer matters, but how does this mean is terms of fundamentals?). I've noticed certain question types that I need to review. Should I be spending less time on certain question types than others? Meaning I need more fundamental training? Ahhhh! I'm everywhere with this stuff! If you guys can sift through my mumbo jumbo and figure out what I'm trying to ask, any feedback is greatly appreciated.
I was recently waitlisted at my law school of choice. I want to make this clear, this is my first law school of choice. My score and UGPA/LGPA are what they are looking for. I contacted the school to ask some questions. There are 66 applicants ahead of me (which include full/part-time) and I can be notified as late as the first day of school to be taken off the waitlist and transition in the 2015 cycle. I was advised to write a letter of continued interest. Once I write this and email it, it will be added to my file. I was wondering if anyone has advice about this. I know what I want to write, generally, but I don't want to come off... Idk, I can't find the word, I'm too upset. I was told that this is an application they'd take if it was earlier in the year. What should I include in my letter of continued interest?
can someone help me understand question 1? if they say the price of oil is connected to the price of cement, how can answer B be the correct answer? wouldnt oil be the source of energy to all the kilns?
I finished the core course about 2 weeks ago, and am now in prep test mode.
I will be done Prep Tests 39-45, by next Wednesday, and unfortunately I don't have 46 until 51. I could obtain those from Amazon, or I could move to Prep test 52 and beyond.
I'm planning on doing the Oct LSAT, and am currently doing 3 prep tests a week, although I think 2 would allow me to blind review tests better. By my current pace I'd be done the prep tests a couple days before Oct 3rd, but I'd really have to neglect school potentially as it starts in Sep, and still manage 3 prep tests a week.
So should I jump to 52, or obtain and complete 46-51?

Does anyone know why the answer is C? I was stuck between E and C but I still don't quite understand how to distinguish why C is the correct answer.
Is it me or parallel flaw is more challenging than parallel reasoning, and it requires more intuition. I just started that section in my 7sage course, and I am just total trash at these questions lol. Also, from my 7sage course experience, it seems that these questions do not use too much lawgic. Any idea how to make approaching these questions slightly less difficult?
I'm not sure if this has been asked somewhere already but will there be video explanations for the new problem sets? Or will there not be any? I know I can go to other websites to read explanations for LR and all but I really like the video explanations that JY provides us with.
Can anybody help me understand question 15 from PT9, S4 included in the Strengthening Questions Problem Set 8? I felt completely blindsided by how answer C (The rebate, if offered, would not attract purchasers who otherwise might not use Grow-Again) strengthens the connection between the premises and the conclusion. Am I reading this right?
P1: Five drops daily [of a treatment for reversing male hereditary baldness] is the recommended dose
P2: exceeding this quantity [of five drops daily] does not increase the product's effectiveness
SC: *Therefore,* offering a manufacturer's rebate will not increase sales
C: *consequently,* offering a rebate would not be profitable
My first bit of confusion was over how the author jumped from the quantity and effectiveness of the dosage to a rebate increasing (or failing to increase) sales. Are we supposed to assume that had an increase in the dosage improved its effectiveness, then a rebate would have increased the sales? If not, what's the link between A (the premises) and B (the sub conclusion)?
My second area of puzzlement was over how the correct answer (according to the breakdown at the bottom of the Problem Set), which talks about purchasers who otherwise wouldn't use Grow-Again relates to a discussion of dosages, effectiveness, and profitability of rebates. Are the purchasers we're talking about men suffering from hereditary baldness who have chosen other products (in which case perhaps improving the effectiveness, or at least the perception of the effectiveness, might make a rebate more profitable)? Or are we talking about men who aren't suffering from hereditary baldness or women or cute bald babies or pink flamingoes who, obviously, would have no interest in the product to begin with, regardless of any sort of manufacturer's rebate?
In any case, what does any of this have to do with the information given as the premises? Strengthening questions are supposed to beef up the link between the premises and the conclusion, right? So shouldn't a correct answer for a strengthening question have *something* to do with both items? I was so confused by the stimulus to begin with that I chose answer D (Grow-Again is a product whose per-unit manufacturing cost does not fall significantly when the product is produced in large quantities) because it was the only thing I saw that seemed to give some sort of connection (albeit very, very tenuous) between the information about the quantity of the product mentioned in the premises and the cost/profitability mentioned in the sub-conclusion and conclusion.
Help!
So, I totally understand why Powerscore books are not recommended and why the LSAT Trainer is. However, has anyone used the Manhattan books...especially their Logic Games book? A friend of mine (who is now done with the LSAT) gave me his Manhattan books to go over. From my research, I think they're recommended more than the Powerscore Bibles. I also read that Mike Kim had co-authored these books. Any thoughts on them?
So I just registered and paid my fees for the October test! I'm active duty military stationed in Okinawa. Any other 7Sagers out in Okinawa looking to take the test? One concern I had was whether or not different weight was given to test location. I'll be taking the test on base with a DoD proctor. Anyone have experience with how nonpublished test centers are viewed by schools or if they even know where you took the test? I called ASU which is where I'm hoping to attend. They said they'd never been asked that question so perhaps that isn't revealed...
Thanks :)
Is the LSAT trainer written by Mike Kim? I saw this on Amazon, just wanted to make sure it is the same book that everyone is talking about. Also, there are two versions, 2013 and 2015. Which are you guys using? Thanks.

Whats the best strategy to deal with questions that relate to weakening questions on logical reasoning? I keep getting those wrong and I don't know how to approach them. Thanks!
Hey there!
So I am gearing up for the October 2015 LSAT. I am taking the Kaplan Self-Paced course, which is pretty awesome. It has tons of resources and is super customizable. I also have the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim, however I am finding myself with not much time to go through that, especially because I am interning full time. I really would ideally like to score a 160+, would it be okay if I back off on the Trainer and focus more on the Kaplan course, or should I make more of an effort to make time for both? I'm already really strapped for time and I just want to be as efficient as possible. Oh! And has anyone taken the Kaplan Self-Paced course/have any opinions on it or tips??? Thanks!
Hello!
I have read so many good things about the LSAT trainer and I plan on purchasing the book. So, my question is how do you incorporate the LSAT trainer with 7sage. Do things overlap? Also, as a side not I am in the beginning stages of studying, I just finished the weaknesses/assumptions portion of 7sage.
Thanks for any help or advice!
Hey everyone,
Let me begin by saying how wonderful it is to have such a large student base to discuss concerns with. I stumbled upon this LSAC forum event taking place this fall near me and was curious if anyone else had gone to one ? They have a few events like discussing the application process etc. A big bonus to this event is that a lot of the law schools registered in LSAC are going to be present. With that, I felt it would be a great opportunity to not only get some extra pointers but to also network with the recruiters for these schools. Here's my problem though, I am one of those slow-to-warm-up kind of people and am not sure how to go about taking advantage of this opportunity. Any advice, suggestions or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated ! This whole thing is a new world for me and being that I won't be taking my first lsat until October makes it extra odd for me. (Seems a little difficult to network with schools I desire without giving them something to make me seem desirable) lol
"Which one of the following most logically completes the passage?"
The Trainer puts these guys with inference questions, which totally makes sense.
The Bible puts these guys with identify the main point, which doesn't make sense at first. But, the question is, does this work? Is it "okay" to think about fill in the blank questions as identify the conclusion instead of inference. I feel like it makes the question seem less daunting and it works. In fact, I think it works better than the Trainer. Whereas a fill in the blank is only concerned with the conclusion, inference questions want anything that must be true in reference to any part of the passage.
Are there any ways this could be troubling that I am not considering?
thoughts on writing the LSAT for a third time? Let's say my score decreases on the third write, how much does this impact me? What if I choose to cancel after the third write? How does that impact an application?
For context, I scored a 162 on my first write, a 168 on my second write, and PTed (over 30 tests) at 173.
Is it okay to grade your timed tests before you move on to BR?
My reasoning is that since you just get a number, for instance 160, and you have no idea which questions you got right or wrong, it wouldn't hurt the effectiveness of blind reviewing. I get anxious to know how I did after my timed exams. :p
Are any of you guys in the older crowd?
For some reasons, I spent most of my time on practicing LR and it is so far my worst section. Just took Pt47 today and got 22 wrong in LR. The breakdown is -5 RC -3LG -8LR and -14 LR (third section). I am pretty disappointed because i was doing pretty well on LR individual sections. The questions weren't that hard, i only had to guess two questions for each section. I basically went over the entire 7 sage curriculum twice. For past months, i've worked on old LR sections (p44 backward). My LR strategy is reading the stimulus, question stem and pick the correct answer choice. I rarely used POE unless it was a hard question. I tried reading stem first but i got distracted so I changed the approach. I will retake the test this oct. I did so bad on LR and RC for the previous test so i ended up canceling it. Now my RC seems ok, but LR is getting worse. This is my second pt after the first exam. Did anyone have this problem and overcome it? I'd appreciate if you share your experience.
Seems like there are a lot of motivated students on this forum and I just wanted to get a general picture of how many hours you study per day. Also, do you study every day of the week or do you give yourself a day off? I plan on taking the October exam and spend around 4 hours studying per day. I plan on increasing this to 5+ during August and around 7+ during September.
I feel like someone started a thread like this before, but it's hard to find old conversations even with the search bar. Anyways, I wanted to know for those who have full-time jobs, how many hours are you generally studying a week and specifically a day? I work from 9am-5pm but really wake up around 6am to get ready and then get to work. It is extremely rare for me to leave the office at 5pm, I usually get home by 6:30-7pm. Then when I come home I eat and usually have to do some work at home. By 9pm, I try to start studying but tend to fall asleep. So for those who have full-time jobs, how do you manage study time? I am retaking in October and feel guilty every day because I don't feel like I'm doing enough. Thanks in advance to everyone who provides feedback. :)
J.Y,
I am having difficulty accessing the explanations for the logic games videos. I can hear you, but can't see the videos.
