I consistently get 2 questions at the end of each section on LR and RC incorrect, even if I end up with a couple minutes to spare to check answers, I end up being confident about those answers and don't bother checking. Anyone notice anything similar or have tips to overcome this? It seems like it would have something to do with proper pacing or maybe loss of concentration by the end of the section but it happens on consecutive sections, two sections of LR back to back and all I miss is 2 questions at the end of each (last 5 problems).

Does anyone have any good ideas for how to practice logical reasoning skills in addition to doing practice questions and the course assignments? I like working on puzzles like Sudoku to help with my logic games skills, but I am looking for something that would help more with the LR section.

Hey! Since I'll be taking the June LSAT I wanted to know if anyone else was on the same track as I in taking 2-3 PTs each week. Maybe we could make a study group and take the same PTs every week, BR, and then go over some of the questions we've found difficulty in? If so, let me know :)

Hey 7sagers!

I was just wondering how long (on average) does it take for you guys to BR an LR section? It takes me at least 1hr to 1hr 30 mins minimum. Is that normal or too slow? Also, how long do you guys spend on reviewing each question?

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if you could provide some insight as to which is better....doing older prep tests I haven't done yet (38-45ish) or focusing on the newer 15 or so tests that I have done untimed a couple of months ago. I'm retaking the LSAT otherwise I would have left the newer tests untouched. The advice I've gotten is to focus on 2007 and above because that's when the comparative reading comp was introduced and as the a whole the tests are better representative of what you'll actually get.

the last few times i've done LR i've just tried racing through the questions and you know what. i've found my score to be significantly better. i've gone from -11 to -3/-4 the past few days. as an added bonus i typically have 6 or 7 mins to review my answer choices.

i don't trust this method, but i'm wondering if i just over analyze the answers.

any thoughts?

logic game rules & inferences

How many minutes should be spent on writing out rules + making rule inferences?

I typically spend 2 minutes reading the rules and writing them out. And by the time I am finished with inference making 4-5 minutes has gone by. But I do finish most of the games within 8 minutes. I just don't know if I am spending too much time on rules & inferences.

Powerscore says 5 minutes is good for rules + inferences

Testmasters said 8 minutes rules + inferences because questions will go by within seconds when you have the whole picture in front of you.

7sage, well J.Y is a genuis. He typically says "this is an easy game so it should be done under 5 minutes."

Soooo confused

NA questions

Hey! I wanted to know if anyone in this forum would like to do a google doc, similar to the one I did for flaw questions? We could work on it together and/or input our notes/examples? I still have not cover NA questions but I tend to always miss those on PTs. Thanks!

Suits

Isn't Suits the best motivation for studying? lol

I finally got my GPA according to LSAC today. I had a slightly non-traditional undergraduate experience. I went to a large and highly respected community college for most of my general courses (about 2.5 years) and spent another 2.5 years at NC State University and I graduated from NCSU. According to LSAC, I have a 2.54 Degree GPA and a 3.0 Cumulative GPA. I know T14 schools are out of the question but I'm working my butt off to make sure my LSAT is good enough to attempt to get into T25-50. But I'm worried about my GPA. When it comes time to submit applications, does anyone know on degree or cumulative GPA, will one have more bearing over the other? I think I can write an addendum for the semesters that brought my GPA down. So that may help some. While on that note, does anyone know how mental illness addenda are viewed in law school applications? Furthermore, is community college viewed negatively? Should I write an addendum for it? Lastly, do law schools look at the classes at all or just the GPA? It would be nice if my semester of paralegal courses that made me want to be a lawyer were considered. I did well in them.

Any advice would be appreciated.

For those of you who have taken the LSAT and joined the coveted 170+ club, I have a few questions:

1) What was your initial diagnostic?

2) What was your PT average the week before the LSAT?

3) What did you do your last week?

Hey you guys! I have a google doc for flaw questions with examples and I've been sharing it with other people from 7sage and anyone else that may need them. I recently received an email telling me that they cannot view my google doc. I was wondering what that reason could be? Would anyone know? I am able to see it on my end but the people that I've shared it with cannot view it? I've checked my settings and nothing is private. When I tried to copy and paste it would no longer let me because now it keeps showing me as offline. Or it'll say "reconnecting" does anyone know what I could do?

For those 7Sagers taking the February LSAT, I just want to encourage you to stay strong and never let go of your dream. I'm 57 and will be retaking the LSAT in February as my prior performances in September and December were well below par, but in the meantime today I received my first law school acceptance ahead of the February re-re-take! I didn't even know that any law school would be reviewing my application prior to the February test score being available! Better still, UC Irvine is right up there among my top choices, so I'm thrilled. Perhaps with this acceptance in hand, nerves won't get the better of me on test day and I can help my chances of a healthy scholarship :-) Truly, fellow 7Sagers, if this dream can come true for me with persistence, it can happen for you too (and thanks to 7Sage for all that I've learned and enjoyed learning with you!).

Do any other LSAT retakers have a tale of encouragement to share?

I currently have the Starter package but at some point would like to upgrade to the Ultimate.

But, to get as much time as possible, I don't want to do the upgrade until I need to.

Does anyone know at what stage I should upgrade? IE - I have built a study schedule under the Starter package. If I was to build one under the Ultimate, is there a certain point at which that content comes into play? I don't want to upgrade now if I won't be encountering any of the Ultimate content for a while.

Any guidance appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

I have what I feel is a silly question. I'm about a month into my 7Sage course; I'm on the Logic curriculum and I finished MSS questions last night. I'm prepping for a retake, so I know MSS questions have been a problem in the past. One thing I love about 7Sage is they get straight to the point. Thanks to the simplicity, I'm more accurate on MSS questions than I was. However, I'm not where I want to be in terms of accuracy or timing. And I feel like a similar pattern will emerge with other question types as I move along. I need more problem sets and drills. I have the premium course but I am planning on upgrading to Ultimate today. I have PTs 36-74. But to get more drills I've either got to delve into more PTs or the Cambridge packets. I've learned that is cheaper to purchase the books with the sets of PTs from LSAC/Amazon than it is get a Cambridge bundle for all LR question types. I guess what I am getting at is what are the benefits of question type training? Are there any other benefits to using Cambridge? I could probably to a certain extent classify the questions myself if I went with the PTs but I'm worried of the daunting task that would be. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

I currently have every available PT book from LSAC, but am able to return them if I need to.

If I upgrade to the 'Ultimate' package, is there any need for these PT books, or does that package contain the same tests? If the PT books contain tests that the Ultimate package doesn't I'll keep them - but there's no point in me doubling up!

Thanks in advance,

J.

Does 7Sage or anyone taking the course keep track of the hardest logic games that have ever appeared on the LSAT? It would be helpful to focus on this these games. Presumably if you can understand these games, then all the other ones would be easier.

PT57.S1.Q05 (G1) - on a particular saturday

http://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-57-section-1-game-1/

I am confused about #5 on prep test 57 logic game #1. It is a substitution question type where it asks us to substitute M --> L (rule 3).

I watched the 7sage explanation video and did not understand it at all. I then tried to figure out why the answer choice is C. I looked at all the diagrams I have written out for the game and compared it to answer choices. Whatever that was not a Must Be True answer choice, I eliminated and that's how I figured out it would be C.

I then looked up the explanation on Manhattan blog and the person was saying we need to find an answer choice that still gives us M ---> L with all the other original rules remaining in effect.

I guess I'm confused about one thing in substitution questions. When it asks us to substitute a rule and keep the other rules in effect, is that another way of saying which one of the answer choices still gives you M ---> L? So are we not substituting the M ---> L? Are we essentially still looking for an answer choice that will give us M ---> L?

I've noticed that working on the problem sets at the end of each section is very time consuming. 15 mins for each problem set is fine but 15 mins to review the answers is not okay lol. & after blind review that may take an additional 30 mins.-1 hr. and reviewing the videos for each problem set takes way over 15 mins. Am I the only one that has noticed this? I feel like I'm 10 hours behind on the the core curriculum :( because of the additional time devoted to BR & trying to watch every video explanation.
