There are two reasons I get hard LR questions wrong. One, I don't connect a statement in the stimulus with a different phrasing in the correct answer choice. Two, I make an incorrect connection, leading to the wrong answer. Does anyone else have this problem? How do I improve?

Hey! I need help (like really badly) on the whole grouping games concept of when a rule triggers/fails. I know in the lessons it says: rule only triggers when the sufficient is satisfied or the necessary is negated. On the other hand, rule fails when the sufficient fails or the necessary is satisfied. I am in desperate need of more information/explanation/a deeper dive on this. If any one knows what lessons in specific I should visit. PLEASE let me know. Anything would help!!!!!!

Hi 7Sagers!

It's been a good long while since I've been on this forum, but I thought I'd bring an admissions-related Q to our amazing community!

Here's my backstory: I applied last cycle to a bunch of schools and decided to accept admission to one, but then had to defer b/c I gave birth and wanted to spend the first year fully devoted to raising my now 2.5-month-old son :)

I met with a friend the other day who attends a certain law school I originally applied to but was rejected from last cycle. Even though my hard stats haven't changed (GPA, score on LSAT, which I have no plans on retaking), she recommended that given my significant change of circumstances, I should try reapplying to this law school again for the upcoming cycle and work on incorporating these big life changes into, and hopefully in the process improving, my messaging (i.e., all law school essays, including the optional ones). If I could have gotten into this school, I definitely would have accepted the offer btw!

But besides the fact that my GPA/LSAT are right at the 25% for this school, I explained to my friend that I had signed a deferral contract to the school where I accepted admission (which says very plainly that "By signing this form, I agree to: ...Refrain from submitting any additional law school applications..."), but she said people break these all the time and simply lose their seat deposit without any other serious consequences.

Giving up a seat deposit is one thing, and by virtue of applying to another school, I know I'd also essentially be saying "so long" to this law school where I've already been accepted... but are there really no other ramifications? No demerits I'd be getting on character/fitness?

If anyone who's been there/done that could offer some advice from their experience or general perspectives, I'd very much appreciate it!

Working through the core curriculum and wondering if the problem sets use questions past PT 35. For some reason, the newer listed PT's in the 'practice' tab show me that I've already used up a few questions from each, even though I haven't done any prep tests yet. Could this be because of the problem sets or drills?

I want to keep the prep tests after 35 fresh and was wondering if there's a way to make sure I don't use questions from the newer test while doing problem sets/drills. Thanks

Can anyone give me any tips on whether I should take the LSAT in person or online.

I took it before online and had difficulties and lost about 5 minutes of the exam so I am leaning towards an in person test but im not sure how to prep for the in person exam since I been taking practice test online. Im planning on taking the November exam so I still have some time to prep.

Hello everyone,

I've been tackling LG for some time now, and it seems that practice is paying off. However, in/out LG games still seem to tank my score when I am doing PTs. Therefore, I've been trying to target in/out games specifically, showing me what I may not be fundamentally understanding.

My main problem with in/out is S/N rules, mainly, when do conditional relationships trigger. I will attach two links to help explain my issue.

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-93-section-4-game-3/ (PT 93 S4 G3)

https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-61-section-3-game-1/ (PT61 S3 G1)

For example, in PT 93, JY explains that the first rule of the game is based on a conditional relationship. Though the presence of H or G (or both) being in means F is also in, it is suggested that F can be in by itself, meaning one (or both) of H and G can be out. Okay, that makes sense. That is the contrapositive of the rule. From now on, when faced with an in/out game, I will look at the relationship with even more skepticism.

However, this same skepticism created even more doubt when I would drill with other in/out games. In PT 61, I tried applying the same rules of conditional relationship to Q1. Normally, this question would have been easy, but since I was trying to gauge the relationship between rule #3, it came down to choosing either A or C. I picked C, despite knowing A would have been my usual answer. Of course, that was the only question I got wrong, because I didn't know how to apply the conditional relationship.

So far my intuition is telling me that such a conditional relationship similar to PT 93 is only when there is an "if"->"then" clause. I hope someone could let me know if that is the appropriate method of thinking when approaching conditional relationship, and if there are other methods to better clarify?

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user. Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for your help!]

I'm feeling a major loss of confidence right now. I completed the LR curriculum with 7 Sage, and I'm consistently scoring -5/-6 on Logical Reasoning. I seem to not be able to get to the last 5 questions every time. What would you suggest I do next?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how I can see what the difficulty rating of a section is without taking the entire PT. At this point I've only seen the rating under Analytics after taking the PT. But I want to be able to review the difficulty of the section and then decide to take it so I can target harder sections for my drills. The resource doesn't have to be specifically on 7sage.

Thank you,

After filing a complaint, I was presented with an option to retest this weekend. I was wondering if the score release date is different for people who retest than those who took the original exam at the start of the month?

On the LSAT, there can be 4 logic games. There are 4 general categories of logic games: Sequencing, Grouping, In-Out, and Miscellaneous.

Is it safe to assume there will be one game from each of these categories on the LSAT? Or could it be the case that you might have 2 sequencing games, 1 Grouping, 1 In-Out, 0 misc.? or something like that

I have been hearing horror stories about the remote testing option. I plan on doing the remote test in September. Did you anyone experience difficulties or is the bad experiences getting blown out of proportion?

Hi everyone,

The LSAC provided an update regarding the issues that occurred during the August 2023 administration of the LSAT, specifically concerning remote testing. The LSAC apologizes for the problems, citing a mix of staffing, infrastructure, and technology issues at Prometric, the selected proctoring vendor. While in-person testing went smoothly, remote testing encountered numerous delays on the first day, affecting many test takers.

To remedy the situation, the LSAC is offering affected students the opportunity to complete their August test, move to a future administration, or receive a full refund. Additional testing days have been scheduled for August 19 and 20, with the option for affected test takers to test in-person or remotely. They are also instructing affected individuals to file formal complaints through their LSAC.org accounts by August 14.

The LSAC are committed to resolving the issues with Prometric and have expressed deep regret for the inconvenience caused. They stress that it's their responsibility to ensure a smooth testing experience and will continue to work to eliminate these issues.

Hi folks,

I have a question about LSAT writing. I took the August LSAT the other day but have not yet taken LSAT writing. I am planning on doing so asap, hopefully tomorrow or the day after. But after reading what LSAC has to say about LSAT writing, I have a few unanswered questions.

LSAC says that testing in a room with a glass wall or door does not meet testing location requirements. Fine. But can I test somewhere that has a glass window that isn't an entire wall or door? There are very few rooms around that have no windows that I could test in. My apartment doesn't, and the local library (as far as I know) doesn't either.

Do I need to schedule a time to take the LSAT writing portion in advance, or can I take it as soon as the "Launch LSAT writing" link shows up in LSAC? Wouldn't I need to inform a proctor in advance that I'm going to take it at, say, 3:00 pm on Wednesday?

Thanks!

Hello! I am signed up for the September test. I do not have accommodations to stand, nor do I want to stand during my test, however I have a stand up desk that has a button that will make it go in standing mode. From all of the nightmares coming from the August test I am a bit nervous my desk will get me in trouble. First world problems I know. Does anyone have an opinion of this? I contacted LSAC and Prometric but I believe with all the test drama they are busy.

If I'm running out of time, and I have some Main Conclusions questions, is it wise to just find the MC, and then to stop reading the stimulus immediately, so that I can find the answer, or is it a better idea to at least skim the rest of the stimulus and then look for the right answer? I do the former, but something about that feels wrong, like if I just only read until the MC, I'm missing something.

I am applying to law schools this season and gathering my letters of recommendation. I was wondering if it would be better to have someone who knows me better and directly supervised me during my work at an NGO but has no legal background write my recommendation or if it would be beneficial to have someone with a legal background who I didn't work directly under write one for me? I could definitely meet with them and discuss some of my qualifications and skills but I'm not sure if it would be super specific and helpful for the law school admissions teams. Then again, having an LOR from a legal professional could be a really strong boost to my application. Could I possibly have them cosign an LOR?

Hi!

I've consistently been noticing that when I get near the end of an LR section I miss the last 5-6 questions. I'm not sure how to improve from here. Is anyone else having this issue? It may be because of the difficulty of the last few questions because I struggle with them even when I go back to review. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach the last few question in an LR section?
