Can someone explain score cancellation? What is the purpose of it? Especially when we have not gotten our scores back? How would this effect the application process if we do cancel a score? Is there an overall advantage or disadvantage to to this process? What if I don't cancel but retake the LSAT in April and get a better score the second time around? Do I have to cancel in order to take another LSAT Flex? I took the Jan Flex and I feel like I didn't do as well as I wanted, but I still have some hope I did well. I'm spitballing the idea but I'm not sure what that means entirely.

Just looking for some clarification!

Thanks!

I know that I probably should just get my mind off it and relax but I Can't.

I'm literally going through every post about the test on reddit and on 7sage to, i don't even know, validate my own feelings? lol

My pt average for the past 7 tests have been around 170.5, worst PT being 168 and the best being 173.

On the real thing, the anxiety was insane i totally feel like i bombed the whole test except LG which I had 8 minutes left bc it was so damn easy. I wish I got a hard LG and easier RC because LG is my best section smh

Honestly I can't even remember what I read during the LR and RC sections.

I hope that my actual score is within my range. It would be so disheartening if I end up a full -10 below my average

Does anyone else think their intuitions after the test are the same as the real score? I honestly think it could go either way (good or bad) but the fact that I can't get a grasp is giving me really bad anxiety.

Decided to start PTing using tests from 2018 because of the short runway available to me -- absolutely bombed the LR section on the two I've attempted so far. LG is reasonable and RCs are occasionally tough but I'm stunned by how difficult LR questions are from Q15 onward. Has anyone else experienced this??

I've been studying since around end of November using other resources, but it's not until now that I've really gotten into the nitty gritty and regularly taking PTs. I work full time and do find myself slacking simply because the days are so long and studying can be draining as we all know. I do my best to study at least 2 hours a day with a PT every weekend. I'm definitely behind because I missed a few weeks of studying due to some personal reasons.

My original goal was to take the April exam but as it's creeping up, and the registration deadline is approaching, I'm not sure how confident I feel. My PT's are nowhere near where I want them to be. My initial reasoning behind taking the April exam is so I could give myself time to take the test again if need be, and still apply for schools this fall... If I take my exam in June, do you think I'll still have time for another test if needed, plus applications?

I just registered for 7sage after I heard a lot of great reviews from friends/family who have used it, and would love to follow this study schedule, however it advises me against the April deadline (even though I have done studying prior and could probably skip a few course lessons/use it as review)

Hi folks,

I decided to take the plunge and start the LSAT journey (again...long story). I'm now in a home office FT job so I have more steady hours, but my schedule for a planned Aug 2021 LSAT has it at almost 35 hours per week which floored me. With work and family situation, I simply can't add 35h/wk onto it.

My diagnostic was 150 (not great, but whatever) and my goal is 160+ for most Cdn law schools. So, I'm really looking for 10-15 points. Does anyone have any tips on how to lighten the weekly load but still get to the goal?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I am currently looking for a study partner that studies during none conventional hours. I typically work longer days 8:00am-9pm central time, so I'm forced to study from about 9:45-1:00am or 5:00-7:45am on weekdays. And on weekends, usually after 5pm. As for my score, I'm mid 160s and looking to break into mid 170s by April. I'm thrilled to work with anyone that is also forced to study during these disgusting hours. If this seems too early/late, maybe you could hit some pushups or body weight squats before studying. Or maybe get some smelling salts. Whatever you need, lets make it happen.

I'm taking the April lsat (11 weeks away) and I'm in the final 2 months of my studies where I'm honing/cleaning up and just taking PTs.

Up until this point I've been doing 4 section PTs. Should I just only do flex PTs from now on? Been mostly doing 4 sections for the extra LR section because I feel like I can always learn from it. What do you all think?

Referring to Pacifico's classic post on studying for logic games, Pacifico mentions going through LG from prep tests 1-35 repeatedly until you reach a level of mastery. Is this still a good method or are recent logic games different enough that you have to practice with sooner games?

I am just starting my LSAT journey and I am not quite sure how things are looking as of now.

I am currently in my final semester of undergrad and am applying to law school as well. I am a psychology and sociology double major and only need two classes to graduate because I already fulfilled majority of the requirements prior to senior year. I am currently underloading with 3 classes but was also thinking of dropping one class because I am not that interested in it (we have until Feb 1st to drop classes without a 'W'). My dilemma though is whether law schools will not like the fact that I am taking only 2 classes in my final semester, and I was wondering whether they prefer a slightly more rigorous senior year course load?

Hi everyone. After scoring a 168 (4-5 points below my PT average) on the November LSAT, I have been studying for a retake in February. Since the November test I have been averaging over 175 and have scored as high as 180 (this felt great but it also stings that it wasn't on an official test). Does anyone have any advice on how to keep this momentum going and what my study plan should look like? I'm thinking of relaxing things as I don't have much room to improve and just need to lock in performance.

Also, does anyone have tips on performing up to or above your PT average on test day? Although my average is higher now, I would still like to avoid a 5 point drop if possible. From the advice of others on here, I have taken up meditation and am trying to adopt the mindset that my official test is just another practice test. Is there anything else I should try?

Thank you for the advice.

I am moving on from the LSAT. I sat for the November exam and just recently sat for the January exam to increase my score, but it doesn’t matter what I get; I have to move on from this test.

I’ve gotten into three schools so far, but I applied to a fair amount, so there are still decisions to be made. However, by the time the dust settles, my account here will be permanently expired. My only desire is that I pick the school that is the right fit for me: T14 or not.

Throughout this journey, I had to continually remind myself that I’m going to law school to provide a helping hand by attempting to bring us all toward human wholeness and into the light of understanding. Keeping that at my core, It doesn’t matter what school I attend or what law I may or may not practice; meeting the human need is the reasoning behind this pursuit.

So, to those who will read this, I wish you profound success and clarity on your journey. Everything positive that can happen will, just not always how we expect it. Nevertheless, you will get into law school.

Stay kind, stay hopeful, and stay determined.

Thank you, 7Sage — I’ll see you all on the other side.

Best,

Aristotle

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone would want to join a small study group. I'm currently scoring in the 150's and hope to get into the 160's. I am currently working with one other person almost everyday at 9 PM EST. If anyone would like to join, send me a message. I would like to have a small group of about 5-6 people in total.

So I recently retook my LSAT and so have an opportunity to retake the LSAT writing. I was pretty happy with my argument and answers to the first LSAT writing prompt, but finished my conclusion with only a few seconds remaining and wasn't able to correct several mispellings and one word confusion at the very top of the first paragraph ("sight" instead of "site"). I know that one or even two mispellings are not a big deal, reviewers know the prompt is strictly timed, but several and a word confusion concerned me a little, especially since we are provided with automatic spell check. In your opinion is this something that is worth retaking the LSAT writing for? Why/why not?

Q22 is sufficient assumption. It says:

The ONLY recordings that go to CD are those that companies believe will sell well enough to be profitable

It concludes: Most classic jazz records will not be put on CD b/c few classic jazz recordings are played on radio

  • Believe will sell well enough to be profitable -----> transferred to CD
  • [contra: transfer to CD ---> believe will sell well enough ]

  • jazz ----m----> on radio ----> put on CD
  • so far so good? I'm having trouble translating answer choice E

No recording that is not played on radio is one that record companies believe would be profitable

recording played on radio -----> believe it would be profitable on CD

    So it becomes:

Jazz ---m---> on radio ---> on CD ----> believe it will sell well enough to be profitable

    Is that correct?

    Hi!

I am really struggling with how to negate conditional statements when they appear in the answer choices of necessary assumption questions.

For instance, a few that appeared in recent LSATs.

PT71 S1 Q22: Answer Choice E: Any pricing practice that does not result in unreasonable prices should be acceptable.

The Powerscore Logical Reasoning Bible says to add a "not" to negate, but I'm not sure where to add the not. Also, does any turn into some?

PT73 S4 Q26: Many farmers will not grow green manure unless they abandon the use of chemical fertilizers.

PT77 S4 Q26: (wrong answer choice): Sea Creatures have rarely if ever, wreaked ecological havoc in a new habitat unless they have been able to survive in that habitat after having been deposited by oceangoing ships.

Each time I struggle with such answer choices because I am unsure of how to negate them.

    Thanks!

Hello all! I am desperate to take the writing sample ASAP - I took the Jan 2021 LSAT. I just logged on to use the Get Acquainted app through LSAC, but got super freaked out by how real it felt. Did I just exit out of the actual Writing section? I had to show ID, room (which, like, literally I was about to do the sample from my bed lol) and close out other applications etc. Is that really a practice test? If so, for those of you who have done it, did it help?

    Hi guys,

I was wondering your opinion on optional statements? Should I submit one when given the chance? I realize I am very late in the application process so I didn't know if this would help or not. I realize this is likely a case by case consideration, but I was wondering if there are any hard and fast rules surrounding the statements. Thanks!
