Just submitted my writing sample and after I submitted I noticed 3 small typos (like forgetting an "a" somewhere) - how badly will that affect me? I know this section isn't graded but also know that some schools read it in detail...

I've been in a weird position where, after getting -2s regularly on LR, I've suddenly fallen down to -5 and even a -8. This became a trend RIGHT before the August LSAT, and even after taking it, hasn't changed at all. I'm feeling pretty discouraged, and was wondering if anyone might have any tips to fix this.
Stats: 163 LSAT (Retaking in November; PTing high 160s) GPA: 3.1 (I know; I don't speak of it); Not URM; Strong softs (Fed. government experience)
I am only going to ED to a place that offers a full ride scholarship, as I really don't see the point of paying sticker to get a decision early or get into a school a couple rankings higher.
Here are the three options I'm considering:
(1) George Washington Law (Presidential Scholarship) - It's a reachhhh (Chances are low; I know)
Pros - DC fits with my resume/experience, Top 25; Con - Odds are low; might be throwing away my ED.
(2) George Mason (Scalia Law Scholars) - It's a reach, but less of a reach than GW. Still unlikely.
Pros - Near DC (See above); I have family in Virginia. Cons - A lot of better schools in the area.
(3) Arizona State (O'Conners Merit) - It's a reach, but I might actually have a slight chance of getting this one, which is a bit scary as I'm not sure I want to live in Arizona. Nothing against Arizona, I'm sure it's a great place, just it's not high on my list personally.
Pros - Top 25; Con - Arizona
Other pertinent info: I'm a Florida resident (aiming for UF Law)/my family is in Florida. I'm 25 (so I'm not sure if I'm considered a nontraditional applicant. I think I'm on the line).
Hey all! I have always had strong accuracy, but struggled with timing. I am making improvements with speed, especially in the LG section which has historically been my slowest. I am at the point where I usually get 100% (or close to it) on the first three games and then have about 3 minutes left. This is enough time for me to set up my game board but not enough time to get to the questions. I usually do a little better at getting through RC but on my last PT I also on had about 3 minutes left going into the final passage. I read the passage and then ran out of time. Anyone have ideas about how to best use an awkward 3-4 mins on the fourth game or passage? Also, any other time improving strategies overall would be welcome. Thanks!
I'm a dummy and I forgot to take off my watch during the Writing sample and just got a notice that it was disqualified.
Since this is self-proctored I just wanted to remind everyone to take watches off! and also to show both sides of your paper since the automated proctor never prompts you to do that...
Hi guys, so I just took the August flex today. Don't feel particularly good or bad about it so I'm just going to assume that I will probably need to re-take in October or November. For those who took the August flex and are planning to re-take, what are your study schedules like before the next exam? I definitely want to take a short break since I just took the exam, but I also don't want to get too comfortable and not study for the next 3 weeks lol I'm thinking at max, a week off and then back to reviewing the CC, doing problem sets, and taking more PTs
Also, has anyone taken the flex and not the writing sample? I plan on taking the writing portion in a couple of days. Any tips on the writing sample? I know it's not scored, but I still want to write a decent essay since law schools will be reading them.
Hey there,
Does anyone have advice on strategies or resources for deciding to which schools I should apply? I have looked at the lsat/gpa predictors, and I'm more interested in how you distinguish between schools within the ranges. For context, for undergrad I knew what school I liked, applied ED, and went. So I am new to school researching and gauging likelihood of acceptance.
Any advice would be appreciated! TIA!
This question proved to be incredibly challenging for me. Could someone please define how the argument used two different uses of the term "selfish?" Thanks in advance!
The 7Sage law school admissions site says you probably shouldn't write about mental illness and I am wondering why. If the purpose of a personal statement is to share something that happened and how you learned from it, why would mental illness be off the table? Surely schools can't reject you on the basis of you identifying as mentally ill right?
In a rule like "Either J or K are selected, but not both are selected" in an In Out Game, why is it represented as J(-)not K and not J double not arrow K?? Wouldnt J double not arrow K mean that both are not selected?
Hi guys
for the personal statement, do you think its okay to write about having anxiety and overcoming it as well as how it helped shape you into who you are today? i also make it clear that i do not struggle with it anymore, bc i know ive seen things where people say they might be biased against that
thank you!
So without going into too much detail, there was an AC yesterday on my LSAT that said something along the lines of "Politician A's campaign called all supporters prior to the debate and urged them to call the radio station regardless of who won the debate" Do we have to assume that supporters will call the radio station? I ended up choosing another one because i felt like that was too big of an assumption because i think most people wouldn't listen and follow through. Or maybe I am making a bigger assumption?
Would anyone want to exchange help. I am pretty good at LG but i am lacking in LR. I would love to share my LG methods if someone could help me get better at LR or RC.
all in the title. When are the scores going to be released for this august LSAT administration.
Can someone help explain this question to me? It's the first LR question I haven't been able to understand, even after blind review and review. I chose answer choice B.
Good afternoon everyone,
I had a quick question about C&F formatting. I have to disclose two incidents and wanted to know if I should separate them by pages, or by headers/ titles? Neither one fills a page but was wondering if I should put them on separate pages regardless
Since there are two indicator words- cannot and unless, how should I go about logically mapping this out? They both imply opposite things. Cannot indicates some kind of necessary condition while unless indicates the sufficient. I mapped it out as /6-->B but the answer is actually B-->6 or /6-->/B. I guess Im confused because JY had us do specific processes for each of these indicating words.
(without deleting all my answers altogether)
Title says it all
The key point is you can immediately rescheduled the exam time by chatting with live representative of ProctorU, do not try to email or call to LSAC, which is a recommendation if you want to reschedule immediately within this round, and also when the final exam time is not yet expired.
While my tragedy is,
I'm taking LSAT-Flex first time, I scheduled my August LSAT-Flex at 10:20AM PDT of Sep.2 which is today, though I'm personally at CA, my residential community is couple of miles away from the wildfire, that's the reason why when viewed the information about reschedule due to wildfire, I never thought I need to, and then is the nightmare beginning. I logged into the ProctorU around one hour earlier, and everything seems great, the timing clock counting well, when the time arrived at about 10:00AM PDT, I noticed the timing clock showed over 50 mins left, I'm curious whether they may change the scheduled time due to some reason? After ten mins later, I finally realized there is no internet because my other opened website showed so, even though ProctorU timing clock still counting. I started to repeatedly retart the internet and check out with Xfinity who said there is routine maintenance from 9:41AM to expected available until 3:30PM today, fine, no notice in advance as usual. When I fortunately connect computer via my hotpot from cellphone, the start icon disappeared.
At this moment, I'm kind of depression and almost cannot control my emotion, but my conscious told me it's not the right time, so I tried email LSAC firstly and keep calling them as well as tried to click the reschedule icon to find out available time, finally I tried to transfer to chat with ProctorU live representative through their chat window, and that's the right path. Christian is the live representative helped me to rescheduled another time for me at 3:40PM PDT immediately, and also told me if the Xfinity do not work as expected, the hotpot maybe fine as well. When story arriving at this section, there is only around 1 hour left for the new scheduled exam, I began to buy a couple of different extra data package for my cellphone from T-mobile (if someone knows which service provided by T-mobile is great for hotpot, please tell me, thank you so much), but no one good enough for the needed internet speed, still hoping Xfinity will back in time. BTW, I also called the nearby public library while they already closed at 2PM, and no one answer from the leasing office, then stay at home is the choice.
However, Xfinity did not keep it's promise whose notice changed to "back as soon as possible" when I check again at 3:30PM, and my hotpot was unable to support system running, missed the start again. When I chat with live representative again for this situation, due to I cannot promise when I can have stable internet before 4:00PM PDT today, though he can connect me with proctor directly, but the risk is the disconnection maybe at anytime after the exam start, my better choice is to request an extension from LSAC. This time I face the life. Ironically, Xfinity back at around 4:40PM, good for them.
Hoping this sharing is helpful for anyone needed, and good luck for you all. Still waiting response from LSAC either email or phone, thank you for your time.
I am wondering if anyone would like to do an exchange proofreading of Personal Statements. I proofread yours and give you my thoughts. You proofread mine and give me your thoughts. I feel like it just helps to have a second set of eyes look over it. If anyone is up for that, message me!
I sent in my accommodation request on August 11th and still haven’t heard back. Should I email LSAC or is it normal for them to take a little bit longer than 14 days?
Does anyone have a good RC strategy?
My LR is around +22 on average. I just completed my LG strategy attack and I'm now getting +17 versus my previous +13. I'm still working on my accuracy with LG but now am incorporating RC into the mix before I take a practice test sometime this month. I'm taking about 10 minutes per passage + questions, which I know is too long, and I'm missing 10 questions on the whole section generally so clearly my 10 minutes per passage isn't time well spent.
If anyone knows of a method similar to @"Cant Get Right" LG strategy attack but for RC, please share!
Thanks!
Hi everyone! I'm thinking about applying to Berkeley Law School, but I would first really like to talk to a current student or alum to find out more about the school's culture and academics.
If anyone knows of someone currently at Berkeley or a graduate who would be willing to speak with me over email, please let me know!
I’m taking the October test, and I’ve been really focused on getting a lot of PTs in since I’ve only done 9 so far. I’ve been taking 2 PTs per week, with an extra two days dedicated to reviewing my PTs. LG is by far my worst section, I’m averaging -8 (LR -5 RC -6) and it’s really bringing my score down. I foolproof games from previous tests on the days that I don’t PT/review, but I’m not sure if 3 days of foolproofing is enough a week. I’m scared that if I don’t spend enough time focusing on PTing, though, that I won’t get the practice I need before my test. Does anyone have recommendations on how I should distribute my time with a month left to study?
So I have taken the June 2007 Preptest twice. The first time I took it was over a month ago (I didn't know about 7Sage yet) and I just printed it out on paper and completed it on paper. The second time was part of the week 1 7sage schedule and I scored 5 points less, despite about 3 weeks of studying methods from the LSAT Trainer by Mike Kim. Can anyone reassure me that taking the exam/reading on a screen can impact your score if you're used to paper exams and do you have any tips on how to overcome this?
