Hi Everyone!

Does anyone happen to know if the actual testing window of the LSAT-Flex can be made full screen like the 7sage digital tester can be? I tried familiarizing myself with the format on LawHub and I could not find a way to make the test window itself full screen, the best I could due was make it about 2/3 of the screen. I really do not like that, I find it distracting to have the LSAC window showing up all around the test that I am trying to work on. It seems very strange the real LSAT would not take up the full screen, I would think it would be much easier to cheat if there could be other things on screen? However, I have not been able to find anything conclusive either way. Any insight would be much appreciated, thank you!

Hello 7Sage, I was wondering if the better strategy to maximize your score would be to finish the core curriculum (I'm currently on the invalid arguments part) or to start taking practice tests now. Moreover, if I were to start taking practice tests now, how often should I do them? I received a 146 diagnostic score. I'm not in any particular rush since I don't plan to apply until Fall 2021 and I have this entire summer just to focus on studying. Thank you for your help!

My goal for the LSAT is to score a 160. I plan to take the LSAT-Flex on May 22nd.

To give background about myself, I started out as a 128 in late 2019. I have been scoring in the early 150 range for months. I continued to hammer my problematic areas, and today I got a 161 on a PT! I am really excited and hopeful! How would some of you recommend I go about this last week before the test? I had 2-3 practice tests scheduled before then, and I figured I would continue to practice the areas I struggle with. Is there any other advice to avoid any potential burnout after such a leap? I do not want to forget anything.

Rc is killing my score. LG usually -1 - -3, LR -3 - -6, RC I always miss 12-13...... I dont miss these questions during blind review though... something isnt adding up.

Hi all - thank you in advance if you chime in to help (and for bearing with my long post).

Admittedly, disappointed with how my cycle went - A: UC Hastings W: UC Davis, Emory, Notre Dame R: handful of schools ranked above Notre Dame. Also, no money from UC Hastings, even after appealing. I am riding out the waitlists, but not optimistic.

My application history: GPA 3.5x, LSAT high 15x. Over the span of a year, I took the LSAT 3 times - used 7sage to study! I feel I have a compelling personal statement, good work experience (will have worked 5 years in government doing policy and finance), and strong letters of recommendations. I do think I left points on the table for the LSAT - I was PTing low-mid 160s. I also failed to apply early, submitting some apps as late as February. So I would focus on improving these two areas if I reapply.

Goals: Ideally attend law school in CA, and work in CA. Interested in public/government law like US Attorney’s Office, but also interested in Big Law (transactional) as I can see that being a great field in Bay Area tech sector. UC Berkeley was/is the dream, but I visited UCLA and pictured myself happy there too.

Other considerations on my mind:

I know deep down that I want to be a lawyer, so I will go to law school.

It has already felt like such a long process, so I hate the idea of another year, but if it makes sense, I’m willing to do it. And Oct/Nov is not that far away now...

I do think my mindset will be different. I’ll push harder, and will have the lessons and experience from the first cycle, motivating me to do better.

Financially, my family cannot support my education. I have some savings, and another year of work will definitely help. I feel pretty confident about my job security for the next year.

UC Hastings is a solid regional school, but I still have reservations about paying sticker!

But what if next cycle does turn out to be even more competitive?

Still, with 1 A, no money, and better application execution and strategy, I can only do better right?! Thank you.

Hey everyone! I had a quick question about problem sets. While going through the core curriculum, should I be doing every problem set at the end of a unit? I have heard from some people that it can be advisable to save some of them to work on weak points once I start PTing. What do you think is best? For example, for MSS questions, there are 12 problem sets available. How many should I be doing before moving on to the next section? Thank you for the help.

Lately I have been having a lot of trouble with "must be true" questions. Can anyone explain why C was the correct answer choice for this question, and not D?

Thank you!

I'm taking flex in a few days, and I've been drilling LR timed sections. I don't know what's going on but my 2nd LR is always always better than my 1st. I'm talking like from -8 to -1 flutuation on the same test. Am I overthinking 1st LR and just more relaxed on the 2nd, what's going on? Anyone else have suggestions, thank you.

I have read many discussions on letters of recommendation, but wanted to get some input on who to ask with my specific situation. I go to a small college, and with it being my junior year, there are about 4 professors that I have had for multiple classes who I am pretty close with and know would write great recommendations for my law school applications. I also interned for a member of the House of Reps in DC last year and will intern this summer with a rights and liberties organization located in DC. Additionally, I work on campus and play golf at my school, and I know that both my coach and my employer would be willing to write recommendations that would be very well done. I have seen before that letters from professors are better, but my two internships seem like they would look pretty good for admissions, and I wondered if employers or coaches could be added for some diversity as well. I am pretty early in the process and will take my first LSAT in June, but I wanted to be thinking about who to ask in order to give them plenty of time. Thanks for any suggestions and advice!

Hello,

Does anyone know how to sign up for a testing time for the June LSAT Flex? I read on LSAC it was supposed to let you choose today, but I haven't seen anything or received any instructions like they said.

Is there something I'm missing?

ANY tips on how to summarize a stimulus in a quick way?

I find that for logical reasoning questions after about question 15 and above - the stimulus' gets harder.

It becomes hard for me to pinpoint what I just read...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've practiced a lot on pinpointing what the conclusion and premise is, but how would i quickly summarize what i just read so i can move on and tackle the question?

thanks in advance

Admin Help!

Help! Last month I purchase the 7Sage 1-year unlimited subscription, however my account is now telling me I only have access to the free trial content. Has this happened to anyone else? I've emailed their admin account, but haven't heard back. Any suggestions or advise would be much appreciated!

We're currently experiencing an issue with the site that resulted in a lot of students courses being downgraded. We're investigating the issue right now and will keep you updated.

Very sorry about this.

A while ago I remember reading a post somewhere that talked about ways to increase your reading ability with respect to the lsat. The main takeaway was of course to take pt and drill. However someone had mentioned that reading certain types of supplemental publications could also help. The only recommendation I remember was The Economist; can anyone suggest other sources?

Hi everyone,

I was scheduled to take the LSAT on the last week of June (East Asia) and earlier this morning I got an email from LSAC telling me that I should? could? sign up for the LSAT-flex?

This confuses me very much since I thought it was an option only available to test takers in the US or Canada! Did anyone who's registered for the June LSAT outside North America also receive the email?

Sincerely,

Ellie

I am really burning out and it's especially hard for me to get away and do things I enjoy because of quarantine. (Don't mean to sound like a first world snob.. but here we are). Anyways since quarantine, I have tried to go for runs, write, go for walks etc. to have some sort of alternative outlets but it really has not felt the same.

I have been studying on and off for almost a year or more but burnt out TWICE in quarantine. I have also never studied like I have during quarantine so it makes sense. Since I am now unemployed and have no responsibilities, you would think this is a good thing, for studying but it also took away my balance, hobbies, structure...etc

I have reached most of my study goals but have some areas to improve. My plan was to sharpen areas for improvement and simulataneously complete a certain amount of PT's + review them before July's test.

This burn out is causing me even more stress since I may not have time to take all PT's as planned or go over all material.. and I don't want to delay the test.

I am feeling really hopeless and upset that my brain keeps crashing on me and I am not doing a good enough job at having a balance. And I am stressed that this burnout is "wasting my time". and even more stressed of the cycle of burnout repeating itself.

Any tips on how i can pull myself out of this negative place I have sunk into?

TDLR: experiencing a second burnout and it's killing my motivation especially because quarantine has kept me confined..

Thanks for joining my pity party.

I see this book by powerscore recommended all over the place as an essential supplement for LG.

Does anyone have any experience using this book in addition to J.Y.’s videos on 7sage?

I picked up the book and am about 150 pages in but I feel as though much of it is stuff I already know. Is using this book redundant?

The questions I miss on LG are almost never the hard questions or even sub questions. I average -0 to -3, but when I miss questions, they are almost always due to a careless mistake. For instance I am checking 82.2.1, a very easy "140" MBT inference question that I missed. I could slap myself for missing this, but this is typical of the kind of mistake I'll make.

This is the most frustrating thing ever. I know I feel a little nervous doing timed sections and I can rush, where I read too quickly and work too fast. Even since grade school making careless errors in math has always been my downfall.

Please for the love of god someone offer good advice on how to stop making careless errors in LG? This doesn't happen nearly as much in LR and RC.

Hi,

So I got this question wrong because I chose D, and I thought that D was right because, from lines 1-7, I thought that it was heavily implying (if not outright asserting) that researchers previously emphasized that gonadal hormones' effect on behavior because they believed that it was the only thing that affected behavior. I thought this because of line 7 ("it has now become clear, however, that other hormones...") which implies that it wasn't clear before that other hormones could affect behavior.

Thus, I chose D because I thought that the new research was essentially correcting the old incorrect belief that only gonadal hormones affected behavior. However, JY seems to ignore this possibility and states that this "undue emphasis" does not count as a misconception. Nevertheless, when I look at dictionary examples of how to use the word "misconception", the examples seem to align with my understanding (https://www.yourdictionary.com/misconception) of misconception = "we incorrectly thought that X happened only because of Y."

Along these lines, I thought that "refuting" this misconception was a perfectly valid description of the passage because the new research showing that other hormones affect behavior is technically "proving wrong" the notion that only gonadal hormones affect behavior.

Gosh, can anybody show me where I went wrong here?

PT8 S1 Q09

Easy to get down to D & E.

The final decision is just that complaints happen when they are rising and that is different than when they're at their highest?

And furthermore that margins are at their greatest when prices drop. Meaning there is lag in the price drop to consumers?
