Discussion Buddy/Group

Currently studying full-time so my schedule is open and free. Just started studying a few weeks ago. I have an LSAT tutor and just hoping to work with a study buddy or form a group.

My discord is (grumpykitten9)

I am planning on taking it within 2-3 months.

In the tri-state area (NYC EST) happy to work with anyone in any area

hello,

I'm just here to vent. I started seriously studying for the LSAT in july of this past summer and took a diagnostic and after months off and scored a 139 on the diagnostic. Looking at the analytics of that PT it was an overall more challenging PT so I guess it makes sense. But despite doing literally everything right I am not improving at all. I'm a Canadian student and our applications are due nov 1 and i plan to take the october LSAT next week. However, I'm averaging a 149/150 and the highest I've scored in a timed PT is a 152. In an untimed test highest I've scored is a 156. My GPA is already considered pretty low so if I want to get into any law school it's dependent on my LSAT score. My original goal was a 158 or best case scenario a 160. But it seems like it's just not in my potential. I was planning on rewriting in January too but I don't think that'll help me chances as I already pushed it from August to October because in August my PTs were 147, 146, and 152 I thought I could realistically improve to a 158. It seems as though I can't do any better than 150 and Idk what to do about it. I've decided to apply to 1 law school in Ontario that doesn't have a minimum LSAT or GPA but its just devastating accepting the fact that I won't do better than I am now so matter how much time I give myself. For context I only have 1 class a week to finish my undergraduate degree and only work part time 3 days a week so I dedicate 2-5 hours of studying a day on LSAT prep.

Considering this is the case, should I even bother to write it in January or apply to the 1 school I have in mind and accept I'll be going to a school I don't particularly want to go to? Or should I just give up on law school and leave it be?

Thanks

Hello,

I am working a full time job at Goldman Sachs. Just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in May 2024. I hope to apply to law school in the 2026 cycle.

Since I am 1-2 years out of school. Any tips on: A) Who to ask for letter of recommendation? B) How to ask them? C) How much leniency law schools will give me about my LORs given that I am years out of school?

Thanks!

Got my score back two days ago, and it was about 8 points lower than I was hoping for (165 vs 173). I signed up to take the November LSAT, but trying to figure out the best way of studying when I don't know which questions on the official test that I got wrong is really frustrating. I struggled with one of the LR sections, so I'll be going through the CC for LR again, but any other advice is appreciated! I was scoring much higher during PTs, even having ample time left over, and don't know where to go from here studying-wise, especially since I am in my senior year and have a full-time job on top of that.

ANY advice, whether it's about studying following a lower score, or scheduling time to study when you absolutely only have PT- time on the weekends is appreciated!

Note: you can register for today's session here.

Hey 7Sagers,

The September score release has arrived. Once you receive a score, it can be difficult to determine exactly how it fits into your law school aspirations- especially when you're on the fence about cancelling!

We'll be featuring a free session led by one of our Admissions Consultants to help you interpret your score on two different dates:

  • Wednesday 9/25 at 4:00 PM ET, with Jake Baska
  • Friday 9/27 at 4:00 PM ET, with Samuel Riley
  • 🍪 These classes are open to all users.

⚠️ You must register in advance.

I scored a 170 on my second LSAT in June while on two hours sleep and promptly took the summer off for personal reasons. My first one I was terribly sick in Jan.

I still feel like I have more left in the tank. I've been studying for the past couple weeks and I am not scoring where I would feel comfortable in the October test (averaging 172 I would say on PT), mostly due to sloppiness in reviewing and forgetting some trivial basics in strategy. I still feel like I could make some improvements by sharpening up my basics. I

I was planning on submitting my most important apps in the first week of October and sending an update if my score improved. Finishing the rest of my apps in the intermittent period between taking the test and getting my score.

While a great score, of course, my LSAT score is the main fault in my app for what my goals are. Everything else is in a comfortable spot.

Would there be any downside to just moving to November? Should I just stick out October?

Edit: I also have to go down into the 2000s for PT material now, lol.

    Hi everyone!

I am taking the November LSAT & want to improve my score, but I am struggling between classes, work, and my internship this semester to find time to take multiple full-length practice tests per week. What do y'all recommend I should do instead? Drills? Videos? I'm open to all advice!!! Thank you!

    Drills

Hi, I am having a really hard time understanding the set up for the drills. Is there an easier more user friendly interface ? Can the drills be randomized ?

Hey guys, how long do you guys spend when learning a section of LR. I feel like I take weeks learning a new topic before moving on to the next one. Any tips will help? Crying here at Starbucks while trying to study. I feel like I am taking way too long to understand something. Thanks!!

For example, to understand RRE questions, its taking me like 3 weeks and counting.

what is the actual test date

The test dates say November 6-9. I haven't registered yet. How do I make sure that I will be taking the test on 9th. I am planning to take it remotely. Do they assign you to a date? Or you can choose your date and time for remote test?

    Dyslexia

I was wondering if anyone here has dyslexia? I have pretty bad dyslexia. Whenever I read words begin to look like mush and my brain can’t process words the same way someone without dyslexia can. I was wondering if anyone here has dyslexia and if there is anything you do / take that helps with it.

I just got my results for my September LSAT and I scored lowered than I had on the practice exams. I was scoring in the high 160s prior to the exam and I got a 159 on the official LSAT. I stopped studying after I took my LSAT to continue my job and prepare for school. Would it be too difficult and short of time to take the November LSAT? I will also be attending school and I would only have one month to prepare. With attending school, I am slightly concerned my studying may conflict with studying for my midterms. I want to get my applications out early so I am worried if I take a later LSAT, my chances will deter. I am also planning to graduate this year, so would it be better I take a gap year? I am also concerned I will not be able to fill up the time during the gap year. Overall, I am just looking for some advice regarding if taking the November LSAT seems feasible in my condition. Thank you!

    ADHD testing in -person

Does anyone have an experience of testing in-person with ADHD accommodations (i.e. extra time)? I am worried I will get to testing center and somehow my test will not have accommodations or the proctor won't be aware if that makes sense

Hi everyone! I am currently studying for the November LSAT and possibly the January LSAT as well. I am looking for study buddies, but also providing a forum where people can ask questions, express frustrations, and interact with like minded individuals. My discord has been giving me trouble, and frankly, I am not on it very much. I was thinking maybe an instagram group chat? If you are interested my instagram is @ anastasiaaabeee , dm me saying "study group" so I know to add you to the group chat!!

    Hi everyone,

I took PT 123 last night and noticed that all the passages were in the 1-2 difficulty range. I received a good score on the test, but now I am wondering if it is a little inflated? This would be a 5 point improvement since my last PT 3 weeks ago, so I also think I could have just got better.

Is this not a concern because of how the conversion works?

    TIA!

Hi everyone, I'm looking to create a study group for the upcoming LSATs. Whether you are planning to take it in October, November, or in January. I want to have a supportive group where we drill together and share our experiences/tips we have all gathered so far. The process of navigating LSAT prep material and the law school process over all can feel isolating and scary. If anyone is in the same boat or is just looking for a place to vent lol, drop your discords and I can make a chat.

Hey guys, I'm loosely following the LSAT Trainer's scheduled recommendations for PTs and Drill Set. I know I can take the Drill Sets on LawHub, but I would prefer to have my metrics recorded on 7sage for later analysis. I understand that I can generate new Drill Sets on 7sage, but is there any way I can take the LawHub drill sets on 7sage as well?

    Help!

For months, I had been scoring consistently relatively well on practice tests, taking two tests a week, but for the past two weeks I have been scoring about 5 points worse despite maintaining the same study practices. The other day I hit a score that was the same as my diagnostic test and today, even though I felt much better about it, was almost the same. I take the test in less than two weeks. What do I do?

    Cannot improve

    Hi all,

I started studying this summer with like 15-20 hours a week just doing core curriculum, no PT. I was really starting to improve. After I started taking PT, my scores were stuck at a 154. I am not sure if I should redo the complete curriculum because I have time, however, it has been immaculately frustrating as I worked my butt off this summer. I wasn't doing the read review method during my drills, and I'm not sure if that is why. Any suggestions?
