Former admissions officer here. The GPA that law schools use for ranking and reporting purposes is the LSAC cumulativeGPA. The CAS Report contains a lot of information about your grades but the cumulativeGPA is the one that really matters.

it might be beneficial for schools to know you know what you're getting yourself into (the legal field). Your cumulativegpa as calculated by LSAC and your highest LSAT will probably have more weight especially when it comes to scholarships.
