It's hard to say without looking at how clear your answer sheet indicates an erasure, but yes. I would say there is no harm in requesting a hand score in that case. -

I use Mirado Black Warrior. Lead tip is sometimes unreliable, but that's why I'll bring 4 or 5 sharpened ones with me to the test.
