Hey guys,

I am a big advocate of avoiding burnout by taking one day per week to do NOTHING LSAT related.

So what are some fun things you guys enjoy to do when you're not studying hard for the LSAT?

I'll start:

- I like going out to eat at some of my favorite restaurants with my friends. I think it is good to get away and spend some time with people who aren't taking the LSAT. Nothing like sharing a bunch of apps and eating a delicious meal with your friends!

- I like to play piano/guitar. Playing music for me immediately takes my mind off of the LSAT. I need to concentrate and my brain need str be completely focused on what I'm doing. Plus it's fun! Also, every Sunday on my LSAT day off, I perform music with my faith group at my church. I think it is important to have something fun to look forward to. That definitely helps! :D

- I like to run. Pretty boring, but it is nice to just listen my music and go for a run around the park by where I live. I always feel much less anxious and upbeat after a run.

- Last but not least, I like to watch Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo shows.

@emma486 Getting the f#%$ out of the house and walking around.

This is something that I found to be so true. Even if I just get out of the house and walk around the block...It makes such a big difference.

Sounds like a good strategy @emma486 . And welcome to 7Sage!

I listen to music. Sometimes even between lessons just to decompress and chill. The Hamilton soundtrack has been particularly good at doing this for me.

I'm at the tail end of my Peace Corps service and have found the best destressers that have worked for me for the last 2 years have been 1. Talking to friends and family 2. Exercise 3. GET ENOUGH SLEEP and 4. Getting the f#%$ out of the house and walking around.

I will plan on applying all of this to my LSAT journey.

@mjpina451 I met my boyfriend here on 7sage.

I’ve been a part of the 7sage community since December 2014. I’m pretty sure this is a first. That is awesome.

@deepikaraj2398 Is it weird to say that sometimes I destress by reading posts on 7Sage because it gives me comfort to know that I'm not the only one riding the struggle bus? <3

@katrinkaminskaya68 I also have a post-LSAT trip to Puerto Rico my s/o put together. I have maps of places to visit all printed out. When I feel a bit like slacking, I look at the pics and realize it's all going to be worth it. It is going to feel so good to have this test out of the way!

Haha @katrinkaminskaya68 you make me laugh, I like you haha :D I can eat so much sushi. Basically I stop when I am sick; not when I am full.

Don't think like that! There are tons of law jobs that require you to travel. I have a friend who works at a big law firm in NYC and takes vacations a few times a year. It isn't always as bad as people online make it out to be. It also is largely continent on what practice area you go into, and what type of firm you choose to work at. So your life won't suck and you'll still be able to travel. Law is the ultimate work hard, play hard grind.

-eat sushi, dozens and dozens of rolls

-blame myself for all that sushi i ate

-make plans to travel the world

-realize that law school and traveling the world are pretty much incompatible

-realize that life sucks and i better study the shit out of lsat before life starts sucking completely

I watch suits, and express my jealousy for Michael Ross who can pick what grade he gets on the Lsats and for rachel zane who decided one morning she was feeling confident took the lsats and got a 172

@leena329 I know! I am already enough of a nerd without people finding out a man in his early 20s is playing Disney Medleys in his spare time. But you're so right when you say they are the best, lol. I like certain musicals too. Phantom is one of the greats. I need to learn how to play some of those pieces.

@tutordavidlevine115 Disney is literally the best and the medleys are amazing. I've yet to try one but just listening to them gives me chills. I also really enjoy musicals *coughs Phantom of the Opera* so that's always fun to try on piano too!
