Pointing out the traps has been really helpful. I feel like up until now I always picked the trap answers. This gives me some hope.

what does expresses the conclusion drawn by the argument as a whole even mean? Thats what tripped me up i knew it was between C and D, but wasn't sure if we were supposed to incorporate evidence because it says as a whole. Had it just said conclusion i would have easily picked C. I realize now that D is an assumption, but nonetheless, the question wording ive noticed in unnecessarily difficult as if the stimulus isnt already difficult enough smh.

@AlexHaro "Conclusion drawn by the argument as a whole" just means the main conclusion. For each LSAT question type there are multiple ways to word the same question stem. For example, this main conclusion question also could have been worded as "...most accurately expresses the overall conclusion drawn in the argument." or "most accurately expresses the main point." Either way it is always asking for the same thing, you just have to memorize/understand the question stem variations!

I remember doing this one a couple of months ago. I remember getting it wrong, but I did recall the answer. I'm quite pleased with how easy this one felt, and how far I've come with identifying conclusions.

"This, however, is unlikely" is the main conclusion. "This" refers to Apatosaurus being able to gallop. Of the answer choices, obviously C is the best choice, but I wonder if one were to have as two answer choices (A) Some paleontologists are wrong and (B) It is unlikely that Apatosaurus was able to gallop, whether (B) or (A) would be correct. I would say (B), but i can see an argument that the structure of the conclusion is rejection of another claim, not affirmation of a counterclaim.

me celebrating getting it right, then I see the difficulty level ._.

@Bayside Level 1s and 2s are the bread and butter of our section make ups. if we can accurately get every level 1 and 2 with ease, then half the job is done.

@Bayside Lmao then there's me who gets it wrong and then sees the difficulty level

@kythax Not totally lol. Maybe this type of question is where you need more help. You may be good with other question types. Keep practicing. Good luck!

For those who are just starting practice questions, it is very helpful to start an error journal with these.

@JoalGue What did you choose as your first answer? I can probably explain why what you did was wrong and then why C is correct if that would help at all!

I genuinely can't see how a mention of modern bones become the overall conclusion.. this conclusión answer choice sounds more like an assumption to me. I'm so confused on this question. Please help

@mrrobotjeremy The trick with this question is that it is telling you that an argument is unlikely to be correct. Therefore, everything that follows is support as to why it is unlikely to be correct making C the main conclusion.

im so annoyed. i chose answer choice C right away and told myself to look back and read it over a little more and dive deeper. ended up choosing answer choice A after wasting all that time. always trust your gut

@DillonDavidesfahani the question only wants the main conclusion, so look for what best matches the statement that indicates it. mentioning the premises won't help

Insead of arrows it should say what is next.

When reviewing if we see this page it shows us the answer which doesnt help if retaking the question since we are already biased having seen the answer.

    or!!!!

Just make the arrow go to the question no matter what!!! we should never see the answer first, that just defeats the purpose of the whole thing.

Chose A because I felt like C stated "ALL" Paleontologists by not restating the claim in the stimulus of "Some Paleologists". I gotta long way to go I suppose. I see how A is merely a major premise.

the new curriculum is so much more helpful. in the nicest way possible, the previous curriculum explanations were so disjointed and confusing. these explanations are calm and make so much sense.

Should I be reading the context under each video even though I watched the video?

This was very easy and it does not make me feel proud for the fact that I got the right answer within seconds. I am pretty sure that going further more I will face much more complex alternatives that will mess up with my self esteem.

This was far too easy. I think it's starting to click. I'll admit that I thought for a second it could have been A because I had seen it directly after "This is unlikely". However, I just reminded myself that I'm only looking for the author's direct conclusion, and that conclusion is simply to negate the suggestion of "some paleontologists". I anticipated the right answer before finding it. That made the "hunt" for the right answer much easier. This took me overall probably 20 seconds. So much better than I performed on my diagnostic!

For clarification: I literally did not read past the author's conclusion and the premise following the first "because". All I still know about this stimulus was that there are broken legs involved. No more than that. Ultimately, I know the author is against the paleontologists. :)

So I was trying to think of what the assumptions were before he explained them in the video. So I paused. For the second assumption, I came up with "we assume that the calculations would indicate that the legs would have broken etc."

But the correct assumption was that if the dino broke its legs while galloping, it would not have galloped. So obvious that I missed it.

Would my original assumptions still be a valid assumption related specifically to the "main point"

I noticed the blind review lesson is waaayy down below Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. Is it worth doing it first in order to fully take advantage of the practice questions?
