@Susie Mi recomendación es que pienses en esto como una ventaja porque tu capacidad para comprender la gramática inglesa es mucho mejor que la de los hablantes nativos porque siempre estás practicando y esta prueba es la primera vez que tienen que pensar en la gramática.

Why can't this paragraph be arguing for illustrations? It's explainimg why they're better, cause they don't confuse the jury.

    (1) make a low-resolution summary

Another opposing view is presented where custom made illustrations may just bolster itself with aesthetics as opposed to medical illustrations that just focus on objective accuracy. moreover, custom-made-MI are created to only include information that is relevant to deciding a case and so removes anything that can cause confusion.

    (2) identify different perspectives

here we are getting the authors opinion on custom-made-illustrations vs custom-made-medical-illustrations

    (3) predict the direction of the next paragraph

I predict that we may be getting information on what the courts prefer?

I would have written "Auth. - only relevant facts" instead of "better than textbook". I don't know why, but it seems more fitting in my mind. When I look at "better than textbook," I just ask myself "why is it better?"

I think that is the point. A low res summary is supposed to get you to ask more questions and then dig up more information. Putting down "only relevant facts" could work, but I feel that the reason why "only relevant facts" was stated in the passage is lost, which was to support the fact that they are better than textbooks. It is kinda like the difference between a premise/sub-conclusion and the conclusion in LR.

By focusing on the more general element, you are able to put more of the details of the section inside the box. If you get more detailed with the low-res summary it becomes more difficult to fit all the details in the box. Then when you need to reference that part, you can open that box and remember the details. Not to say it's impossible, but generally it makes it more difficult.

Is there a suggestion on how to write our low-res summary on the paper on the actual exam? Will we be provided with physical highlighters?

I don't recommend writing out the summary. It's a bit too time-consuming. Practice doing the summary in your head; it gets easier to do this over time if you practice.

I've taken the LSAT once before at a proctored location. We were provided pencils and scratch paper, and the Law Hub exam setup had digital highlighters, but that was it.

@Kevin_Lin are you saying this low-res summary should be entirely in our heads? No writing out at all?

@SL09 Some people do like to jot out a few words for each paragraph. But most will just keep this all in their heads. With practice, it's not as difficult as it may seem. Ultimately for most passages, you're just tracking 4 - 7 things. And those things aren't random -- they're related to each other. "Intro debate...first side: X is bad....second side; X is good...author's supports first side"

Thank you so much for these reading videos. I went to the free RC Class first & then worked with the curriculum for RC, & everything fits so perfectly. Love seeing how your thought process is similar & different to mine!
