Hey everyone, I was wondering what y'all think about trying to practice for the writing sample. I need to complete mine within the next week - but is it worth it to try it with a different prompt? The only prompt I can find is from June 2007, and I've read enough examples from that one that I think it would help little to write my own essay. Does anyone know where I can find another writing sample topic from other administrations? Or should I not worry and just sit down and take it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi everyone, I'm consistently getting hammered on flaw questions and though I've been trying to drill them for the past week, I'm not seeing much improvement. Any improvement strategies or advice you have would be really helpful.

I have daydreams of being some kind of a surgeon/lawyer, but am unsure how feasible such a career would be. Has anyone read a case study of someone who has done both? Or is anyone actively pursuing a joint MD/JD, especially with interests in pursuing a career in medicine outside of medical law?

I can only imagine the expenses without tons of scholarships.

I have had a problem set I compiled disappear for the third time today after making one ready to go for this morning. Super frustrating, because I took a while to carefully select question topics and difficulties. Is there any way to get it back? Also is there a way to sort problem sets by new?

I apologize to add to the frantic posts that begin as it nears the exam.

But I am taking my first actual test on the 25th, and I am consistently getting -19 with it pretty evenly spread on every PT I've taken since I finished the CC.

I am drilling every LG every day and hoping to get it down to -1/0 before the exam, but even with slight improvements on each test in LG, I go down in LR/RC.

Obviously cannot predict the future, but, does anyone have any tips 2 weeks out? Or am I better off relaxing(/accepting) at this point given the short amount of time?

Thank you in advance.

I have 1 official score from 2017 (should not have even bothered with the test)

and I have 1 cancel from the Jan 2018 exam. I cancelled after feeling like I bombed the test. Does this second attempt count as a "take"

I'm scheduled to take the exam in 2 weeks, which would be my third attempt, but only my second official score. I'm worried because I'm open to taking the January 2020 test in the event that I do not reach my goal score in November, and I don't want too many "attempts" to ruin my chances of getting into law school. Any thoughts?

Is anyone else unable to see the total time elapsed on a LG? Its showing the time per problem but usually there's an option where if you click on one of the timed questions you can see how much time the game setup and all the questions took. #help

Hey everyone,

I’m freaking out insanely because I am new to this and because I registered for the January 2020 exam today (it literally just opened up a few days ago). Anyways the city I live in only has one test center and it says unavailable. The other one nearest to my city which is about 1hr and 30 mins away is also unavailable. Anyways so I just registered and I guess I am wait-listed.

I’m freaking out because I am unable to travel to the test center that is outside of city if it opens up (don’t have a car, don’t have anyone to take me and they just cut the bus routes that go outside the city). Basically I can ONLY write the test in the center located in my city but I’m so scared that I won’t get a seat and I’m freaking out even more because I have already applied to schools and January is the last acceptable exam they take.

Advice??? Literately can’t calm down

Hey guys, I’ve recently restarted to study for the test and noticed that there has been a number of changes. I’m planning to take the international version of the test in June and I think I would find it useful to have a pen during the game section, mainly in order to have certain fixed variables written in ink and change others as the need may be by using an eraser and rewriting with a pencil. While pens are given to the test takers of the digital version, so far I haven’t seen any explicit statement by the LSAC permitting test takers of the pencil-and-paper version to bring their own pen. I think this difference between the two groups of test takers is an unfair one which can easily be overcome without cost or undue problems, and I’ve been hoping to see some changes in this regard. Are any international test takers or takers of the paper version of the test willing to formally ask LSAC for permission or would I have to wait until I register for the test next year (in May or so) to see this change in policy? I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar wish and was willing to do something about it. Thanks and good luck!

BTW, I really appreciate the free logic games videos J.Y. Ping!

Hi all,

I have been taking two tests a week since August and have had a consistent score increase to a peak at 166 last week. Lately I have been nailing drilling assignments but my scores in practice tests as of late have nose dived back to 160's. I take a day off a week and do not know why my results are going downward this close to the exam. Any help would be appreciated.

I started studying for the LSAT in August and back then I scored around 155. Since then I've kept studying in the time I have left over from grad school. I just took a PT in the same controlled enviornment and received a 150. I'm equally weak in all questions (I missed around 12 questions from each section) and found that I am still presssed for time and unable to complete the last page for each section. It feels like all the time I spent practicing amounted to nothing and I'm at a loss.

It's clear I'm not ready and I just found out that I can only cancel my Janurary LSAT for a measly 50 dollars. Any suggestions on what to do? I'm looking to take the LSAT at least around June but I'm not even sure if Seoul, Korea offers a June test. There is one in March, although I'm not sure if I'll be ready by then tbh.

Hi, I just wanted to know everyones experience with 7 sage and possibly how much your score improved. Also how long did you study using 7sage? I recently signed up for 7 sage and I just wanted to get people's feedback. I am also thinking of possibly doing powerscore classes in person but for right now I am just going to focus on 7sage i think. I am thinking of taking the LSAT next summer, give myself probably 5 to 6 months of studying. Also if you want to throw in any valuable study tips please do! Thank you!

This might seem silly, but I feel like I screw myself over and waste a lot of time with poorly drawn charts/tables (in/out) on LGs.

I have the dexterity of an elephant and fat clumsy fingers. I know we aren't allowed to use rulers on the LSAT, but could we fold paper to make a ruler? Anyone have any pointers or is it just a matter of slowing down a bit to have a more legible diagram?

Hey Guys! I'm looking for advice.

Here's a little background: I began my studies in July (initial PT 143) and have been studying full time (9-4) since. My score has gone up to a 159 (BR 164) (I took this test about a week ago) but I took two PT's after that and scored a 151(BR 157) & 152 (BR 159). I have NO IDEA why I am regressing.

My LG score is now at a -1/-5 depending on if I can finish the game set BR -0. BUT I CAN NOT SEEM TO INCREASE MY LR or RC score ): I BR after LR, but somehow i'm stuck at -7/-8 per section (BR is sometimes the same score sometimes it's -2). And my RC fluctuates vastly as well, but normally I only get about 14 correct. ): At this point I have no idea what to do. I feel so defeated after studying for five months and not even being able to reach 160's yet. So what would you guys do in this position?

Any parents out there that are planning on attending law school or who are already in school? Just wanna make sure I'm not alone. I'm seeking some advice and input as to how y'all are faring and balancing parenthood with the rigors of a law school curriculum. I know there are a lot of factors involved, like the amount of help one receives from family, financial position, etc.

My baby will be born in March, and I'm planning on attending law school full time in the fall of 2020. I'm a bit anxious, but determined. Not sure how much help we will have from family, and my wife will be working about 60-70 hrs a week.

So, how will y'all manage? And, for those of you already in school, what advice do you have for maintaining your sanity?

Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome.

Through my 7sage account I have access to PTs 36-58; I have taken PTs 36-43. I am also taking the November & January LSAT. For my last 6 PTs I have been consistently scoring between 165-168 (diagnostic 153) and BRing always above 170.

I started to get worried about the differences between the old and new LSATs so took PT 77 and scored just below my usual range (163) but not so much that it alarmed me. I honestly did not notice a major difference in the test - RC felt the same, LG was -1 and LR was where my score dipped but not too bad (during that hour the library was overrun with screaming 6 graders so that may be partially responsible for my dip in score).

I am wondering if there are any success stories from people who only practiced from PTs up to 58 - I really do not want to spend more money on all of the latest PTs but also it is a small price to pay for LSAT success.

I have access to some newer PTs but cannot BR them as they are with a different online course so this additional factor pushes me to want to use them as a diagnostic not a study tool.

I was scoring an average of 167, 169. I got three scores above170 in the last month. Now I just scored a 162 and before that I had a 165. I'm taking the November test. To anyone who has experience with underperformance-- why do you think you underperformed? What do you think helped or made it worse?
