Stuck at 163..Tips on RC?

Thanks to this forum, all the comments I've seen are very supportive and helpful

What are the recommendations for those who have made significant improvements on RC?

I noticed a few of our users having the same issue with the video player, so I'm posting this quick fix in hopes that it helps all of you out!

If you're unable to see the videos or are getting constant html5 issues, the first thing you want to try is clearing your cache and cookies. This varies from browser to browser (and operating systems), so you'll have to look up how to do it on your browser.

If you're still having issues after that, go into your settings (http://classic.7sage.com/account/) and make sure "Use Flash Player" is checked off, then click save.

This should fix your problem, but please note you won't have any of the fancy playback features anymore! (Meaning you won't be able to make J.Y. talk like a chipmunk anymore, which is pretty funny.)

Hey everyone,

Long story short, the plan was to sit the October test. I ended up moving it to December, from which I withdrew. The new plan is to take the June test, and apply for the 2017 cycle.

My question is, is there any benefit to taking the June test over the October test? From what I've gathered, by applying around June, you end up competing with less people, for more seats. I've also read that there isn't much of a difference.

In any case, I don't intend on registering for the LSAT until I am absolutely certain that I am ready.

On a totally unrelated note, do you guys take notes while watching the videos in the curriculum? Just curious. That is currently what I am doing and I am starting to realize that it is slowing me down drastically - can't tell if it's helping or not...

Study schedule question

Early on in my decision to take the LSAT, I took the June 2007 PT. I did this to see what the test was like and how I would score in a non-timed situation. Now I have started using 7Sage to prepare for the June 2016 LSAT. For one of the lessons this week, I am supposed to take the June 2007 PT, which I foolishly wasted early on in my preparation. My question is, should I take PT 34 in place of the June 2007 PT? Or should I skip the lesson entirely?

Thanks!

Personal statement

Would anyone be willing to read over my personal statement and provide some feedback? I can read over yours if you would like and provide feedback. I've made a couple of drafts and am at somewhat of a loss on what to change, if anything. I find a stranger's opinion can be helpful in these situations.

Reading on your free time.

Hey Everyone!

I'm just curious, what are you guys and gals reading on your free time? I'm looking to boost my reading speed, which I believe can be done by being a tad more well read. I know it has been suggested that we read The Economist, Scientific American, or The New Yorker. I'll likely subscribe to one of these magazines - either The New Yorker or The Economist, since Scientific American is the most expensive out of the three.

I absolutely despise economics and the test writers clearly don't share my dislike of the discipline...so, what's the most sensible thing to do? Subscribe to The Economist! Please feel free to bash me for this - I appreciate the criticism :).

Well, my application cycle has come to an end. I just got accepted to Penn today, where I will be attending next year. 7sage has helped me tremendously and I'm confident that I would not have this opportunity if I had not chosen to sign up for 7sage, complete the curriculum, participate in the BR calls, and remain active on the forums. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful the 7sage community is. People are supportive and everyone wants the best for each other. For those of you who are starting with a low diagnostic score or are plateauing well below your target score, you need not give up hope. I scored a 147 on my diagnostic, but after nearly a year of hard work, I improved tremendously and did well enough on the exam to become a competitive applicant for many of the top schools. My advice to all 7sagers is to utilize all of the resources available to you. Join the BR calls, stay active on the forums, and learn to love the LSAT. If you are having difficulty with a question or want a critique of your studying schedule, reach out to veteran 7sagers. I have spoken at length with many of the most active 7sagers and I can assure you that they will be more than happy to assist you in any possible way. Remember, we are all going through this together. I hope everyone has an amazing application cycle and I hope to see some of you at Penn next year.

Hey All,

Since yesterday, I haven't been able to see the answers posted on logic games explanations videos.

Usually I'll go to the specific game through the 7sage website and then just scroll down to confirm my answers. However, since yesterday, I haven't been able to see the answers and have had to literally watch the video and fast forward it to find out.

I'm using Firefox browser on a Mac and have tried Safari as well, but its the same issue.

Any advice?

Thanks!

Admissions and 7Sage!

Hey folks!

I wanted to let everyone know I just spoke with J.Y. for about an hour (5:30amish to 6:30am my time, OUCH) -- he is deeply committed to helping everyone in this process, so much so he endured listening to me blather for that long.

In the near future my firm will start positing law school admissions content for 7Sage. This may be of acute value for wait listed applicants this cycle and certainly those looking to apply in futures cycles. So look for us, after you crush the Feb. LSAT :)

Application

Do people usually have applications done and ready before taking their LSAT exam and then wait until they get their scores back to submit or how does the process go? I know submitting as soon as you can is best considering a lot of schools do rolling but could you technically submit your application before you get your score? Or to take it a step further, can you submit an application even though you plan to take the test a second time and just update the school?

I had originally planned on applying this fall, but due to LSAT taking more time than I originally anticipated, I've decided to just send applications next year instead. However, my letters of recommendation have been submitted by my professors on LSAC. Is there an expiration date on the letters? Will I be able to submit them when I apply next year, or will I have to request them again from my writers?

Hi everyone! If anyone has some better insight as to why (E) is the correct answer I would greatly appreciate it! I see why (E) would be the right answer but I also believe (C) could be a correct answer. The only issue with (C) that I do see is possibly the word "many" but that's about it.

I recognize the phenomenon begging for the explanation would be the fact that even though the number of students who enter as chemistry majors and the job prospects but number of people earning chemistry degrees has declined.

Thanks again!

Hey y'all—

As you know, I'm a big LSAT nerd. I love LSAT and I love LSATters. 7sage is a huge part of my life. Some of my most important contacts and favorite buddies have come through this forum. So, I'm looking for a way to give back ... and to give you what you want. Or rather, to ask you what you want, and then figure out a way to give it to you (or to find someone who can!).

To that end, I wanted to open up 7sage's own TRL (Total Request Live, for those of you who may have blocked out the glory that was Carson Daly from 1998-2008).

7sage Total Request Live

—What topics do you want to read about (in longer form)? Articles, opinion pieces, success stories ...

—Got ideas for infographics?

—Want pretty printable charts/cheat-sheets?

—Other categories not yet imagined??

Open season on requests/brainstorming. Rock me like a hurricane.

You can post your requests in the comments here, or feel free to PM me if you'd like to remain somewhat incognito :D

This question went completely over my head and I still don't understand why the correct answer is (C) for all the tea in China. If someone could please explain this question it would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps some insight to these questions in general. These use to be my best question types until I hit PTs in the 70s...

Thanks!

Question for Admin

Is there a way to notify the forum that someone has posted a question from one of the course sections, without flooding the forums? I've seen people question whether anybody actually views the posts throughout the course if they don't get responses to their questions. Just wondering if there's some way to notify the forum, just as some questions posted the the forums are "bumped" to the top if not answered? It seems that once the course has been completed people generally do not go back to the questions posted throughout the course. Any questions are then posted in the forums. When I'm bored at work I often browse the forums just as I do social media and chime in here or there. It's just more "visual." More eyes are viewing the forums than are viewing the questions posted throughout the course, so maybe better chances of a question being answered in the forums. I've seen mentors and admins reply to questions but of course you guys have lives and can't click on every lesson in the course everyday to make sure questions have been answered.

Driving records

Hi everyone, I have just began the process of filling out my online applications on the LSAC website. Does anyone know if there is a way for us to obtain a copy of our driving records? I have had a few speeding tickets over the years but I don't think any of them are over 10 mph but I would like to verify prior to filling out the character & fitness portion of the applications. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

LR help

On most of my prep tests I've been getting nearly perfect LG scores, over average RC, but I continuously do pretty bad on LR. I usually get -10 to -12 and it's breaking down my confidence considering how well I do on the other sections. How can I improve on LR? I'm trying to go back over the sections I do worse on (SA and flaw), but it's not really helping.
