M → F

/J → /M

/M

I took the contrapositive of M > F which got me /F > /M

Then I inferred that /F or /J would net me /M. Which means that the arrows can split in the sufficient condition.

Which means the sufficient assumption for /M would either be to negate F (/F), or to make it that /F > /J (/F > /J > /M)

Is this correct? Or am I missing some other possible sufficient assumption.

No specifics about the test, just a general question regarding experimental sections. Are experimental sections used multiple times in different years? For example, if a section was included in an administration last year or 2 years ago etc., would its inclusion in a current administration mean it was experimental previously but is now the graded section OR would it be experimental again?

MBT questions

Can somebody explain (a) how to find the right answer choice for these questions and (b) dumb down how to do these questions, struggling heavily with getting the right answer choice

Recently I've taken to honing my skills with Logic Games. I see people posting everywhere that LG is maybe the most difficult, but the easiest to improve on. I've been testing on LG between -17 to -11, with my best being -7.

I know these aren't necessarily the worst scores but paired with my other sections it's far from where I want it to be.

When I do a BR, I find that it takes me almost half of the recommended time to set up my diagram, yet I consistently take too long on the questions. I don't know what else I should be doing during that set-up portion of the game. I diagram the rules into a visual notation (even labeling each notation to the rule it represents), then I try to make inferences.

So what am I doing wrong? It's not like this is part of my unique process where I budget time differently. Am I not making enough inferences? Should I be doing something different when I make my master diagram? I'm open to any ideas or advice!

In the meantime, I plan to study with the PowerScore Logic Games Bible. I've heard good things about its influence on LG performance. Wish me luck!

Hi everyone! I just finished the exam, but experienced losing my mouse/typing capabilities during the first 10 mins. It was unfortunate timing and I couldn't use the ctrl f function in the passage. It had me really flustered and I waited to finish the passage by using touch screen before notifying the proctor of my technical issues. ProctorU had to restart my computer but to say I was sidetracked is an understatement. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there anything that can be done?

Diagram in LR

When should I diagram while doing LR? I always read it, think about it, take an answer choice, and get it wrong. Didn't even realize that I need to diagram until I watch the explanation. Even when I diagram, it takes me about 1 minute to think and realize I do need to do it for this question, but it'll take me about 2-3 minutes (and I may get it wrong). I think I should know when to diagram so as to decide whether to do it or flag and skip...

I have noticed a pattern for a while where I often am down to two answer choices in LR and whenever this happens I typically choose the wrong answer choice (AC). Yesterday on Prep Test 82 I got 4 questions wrong in one LR section and 5 in the other. In the section with 5 wrong, every single question I got wrong I had narrowed it down to 2 ACs and had chosen the wrong answer. Either I am the world's worst guesser or I am falling into some trap I am unaware of.

These are also the only questions in the section where I had not crossed out all of the incorrect answers. I very rarely cross out the correct answer but I am not always able to see which one is correct. I had also flagged all of the questions I got wrong on the one section and most of them on the other LR section so I am aware of the questions I am struggling with as I'm taking the test.

If I could get my LR down to -1/2 I would be ecstatic because my LG was only -1 yesterday due to a dumb sorting mistake I made, otherwise it would have been perfect. RC is always hit or miss for me.

Does anyone have any advice for choosing the right answer when it's down to two choices? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm taking the LSAT in 2 days and yet I am not feeling nervous. It hasn't even registered that I am taking the LSAT, it just feels like I am taking any other practice test. I started RC section on PT 88 yesterday but midway through I just stopped. Usually, when I start a section I complete I never just stop. What can I do to re-energize myself? It's not a bad thing that I'm viewing this as any other test because that may actually help to mitigate anxiety the day of but the lack of energy is a problem. Any thoughts?

LG Brute force

Hi! When I try to brute force answer choices in LG, I usually try to do the ones with the most restricted variables first. Sometimes that gets me to find the right answer at the first try, but sometimes the right answer is just A. As I was picking answers, I don't get to A until the 3/4ish try. Is it just because the As are kind of most painful so they stick out to me, or is it actually more common for brute force Qs to have A/B as answers? What are people's brute force strategies for CBT Qs with no additional premises and no obvious inferences?

For context I am taking LSAT this Saturday, but my score still fluctuates quite a bit in the 170-177 range. I am following the forum's advice to try to figure out weak spots in order to explain the fluctuations. I find that when I spend too much time on brute force Qs, I would have to rush through the last 3-4 Qs leading to mistakes.

Thank you so much!

I saw this for October and seeing how November is a month out I thought I would put it out now. I am hoping to create this tread for people to post positive messages for those taking the November 2022 LSAT.

It could be anything from memes to just to highly optimistic predictions (ex. everyone will get a 180). Seeing how November is also generally the last LSAT people take for the Fall 2023 application cycle, I also want this to be a thing that people can go to during times of stress and get positive vibes.

So speak your wishes to the universe, and let us as a community help keep each other motivated and let each other know that we each have a community of supporters during this stressful and anxiety provoking test.

PT92+ Logic Games (Game 2)

So just out of curiosity, why is the "normal" way to handle this grouping not explained in this video and where can I find the "normal" explanation with rows instead of shapes? I am not crazy about the fact this is $60 a month and I am getting taught different ways of handling a game then I am used to two days before the test. That's great that visually it is cleaner to use shapes for the instructor, but I am not a fan and want the regular explanation (without shapes). Please tell me where to get the "other lesson" reference he makes in the video that goes over this game. We shouldn't have to pay for the regular version of this explanation on top of the $60 per month. Alternate methods with shapes should be done in "other lessons". Some feedback for the 7sage folks. Thanks

Hi everyone,

I'm taking the Oct LSAT (ahh!!) and hoping to brush up on some LG games that focus on de Morgan's rules. Does anyone have a list of ones that I can practice? Don't believe there's a filter for it in the Drills. Thanks in advance for the help!

I've tried time and again, but I'm just not grasping this weakening concept. Especially if the stem is asking me to find the correct answer, "if true". I don't know why, but everything I've learned in MSS has me wired to not believe these.

In addition, trying to find the support between the Premise and Conclusion is leaving me blank and lost.

Any tips?

Hey 7Sagers,

Here's the official June 2022 LSAT Discussion Thread.

REMINDER: Under your Candidate Agreement, you may not discuss the details of any specific LSAT questions at any time. For the June LSAT, general discussion of what sections you had, or how difficult you found a given section, or speculation about which sections were scored or unscored, is prohibited until after 9pm ET tonight. So please be patient for just several hours.

Posts that violate these rules will be taken down and may result in disciplinary action from LSAC. Let’s work together to ensure the test is fair to everyone, and not share information before everyone has taken the test.

Some examples of typical comments:

The following comments are okay 🙆‍♀️

  • the section on Cambodian woodworking really had me second guessing everything.
  • a few of the games had me confused but think I was okay.
  • overall fair test, struggled on a couple of RC passages (damn you polymorphic molecules) but think I was okay hoping for a -2 or -3
  • The following comments are over the line 🙅‍♂️

  • the passage on Cambodian woodworking didn’t count.
  • I had Cambodian woodworking, Fireflies, and rice farming in Iowa so Lithuanian Lithograph Libraries was experimental.
  • fair test but struggled on a couple RC passages (polymorphic molecules anyone? Thankfully it didn’t count). Don’t want to take again in June
  • Anyone know if Polygamist Societies in the 1880s was real or experimental?
  • Please tell me that polygon dice game didn’t count
  • Good luck to everyone taking the June LSAT!

**Please keep all discussions of the June 2022 LSAT here!**(/red)

For those of you who have struggled with reading comp & improved greatly or even those of you who have always been great at reading comp, could you please give me advice on what you consider is the best way to study for reading comp? Is the CC's reading comp section good/ worth it? Or should I order a book from other test prep material? I have studied well for LG & LR, but I only have a month left to study for RC ( tragic, I know) Any advice would help. Thank you!

UPDATE: I'm taking the November LSAT as a trial run, so I can complete my study schedule (including at least 2 1/2 months of RC) to get the highest score possible in January. Thank you all for the suggestions.

I was tripped by q7 and q12 of this passage, as I didn't equate "historical novel"in psg-A with "real life events", which it seems after looking at credited choice LSAC test makers expect you to. I read it more as a novel set during some historical period.

Due to this reason alone, I eliminated credited choice for central theme in both passages question (q7) that included "real events", and picked another choice that i didn't particularly like.

Isn't that a presumption from test makers about "historical novel"? Isn't "historical novel" a novel, so it's not necessarily "real"?

Why do lsat test makers presume that "historical novel" means real events only?

Hi, can any LR guru help take a look at the two following LR questions?

    PT29 1-18 PT2 2-24

    Details:

PT29 1-18: Most of artists are less insightfull than those educated.

Correct Must Be True answer E : Some of artists are no less insightgul than those educated

PT2 2-24: Many planning committee members work in suburbs

Wrong Must Be True answer D : Some planning committee members do not work in the suburbs

Basically: PT29 1-18 is saying that "Most excludes All". However, PT2 2-24 is saying that "Some does not exclude All"

Which one shall I remember? I am just sooooooo confused!

    Thank you guys!!!
