I am still slightly confused about the explanation of AC A, but I totally understand why AC B is correct (if that makes sense). Here's my question

If I spot a Phen-Hypo using causal reasoning, should I automatically assume that the author had a causal mistake? If I did that with this one, I would have eliminated AC A on the fact that it doesn't point out another causal hypothesis.

When I read the stimulus, my prediction was that the sellings would have gone down no matter what; which is what i thought is what A said but B makes sense instead of there being no causation like my prediction, its just another factor casuing it

My opinion about it is even if it’s not 100% accurate your still studying and becoming a better tester it will 100% not hurt especially if you still studying the overall test

@Isabella! I'm taking the August test and just got into the 160s last week after being in the 150s for a while, although my blind review was reaching the 160s. My advice, just in case it helps (espically in a limited amount of time)

-Really focus on the question type priorities you have. No need to constantly drill ones you have an easier time with. This helps build the foundation of the question types you're struggling with and will limit some of those mistakes on your test

-a big thing for me with seeing if LR or RC was my weakness. I know it would be obvious, but just in case you are in the same spot as me, I want to mention it. I realized that on all my tests, I do significantly worse on RC. If i could be in the same accuracy range for RC as i am for LR i would be so happy, so thats what i am focusing on ( in case yours is RC too: i know its hard because we will more likely get more LR sections but LR foundations stay the same, reading comp needs to be practiced if its your weekness)

-Narrow 1-2 PT a week. Practice teaching yourself the mistakes and drilling.

-The crystal ball was also pretty helpful; it's free to watch if you haven't already

- Lastly, PLEASEEE be kind to yourself the last few weeks; it is so important!! As pressure gets heavier, being your biggest supporter is needed now more than EVER.

If you are confused about this question....I don't recommend reading this because the confusion would probably get worse.

I chose E at first, negated it, and realized it destroyed the argument. I was doing great!!!

then...I reread the other AC to make sure I didn't miss anything. That is always my downfall. When I read B, for some reason it now sounded like the correct answer.

Looking back, I see how it isn't; however, what I am wondering is if it was negated, could it be an NA? "None of the qualified teachers...." I think I read it as negated since I just read E as negated.

Ok, stick with me?? If B displayed the negated version and we negated it to the current version, would that not destroy the argument because it would say that the teachers that are qualified can still improve over achievement?

Yes, this does limit it to ONLY ten days. However, we know that this is the max. It could be delivered in the minimum amount of time.

Ok, so let's say her application gets there in 5 days; the minimum time. According to the conclusion, that means she cannot be considered. But is that true? No, the first premise says Gillespie has to get it BY October 1 (could be earlier, just no later). This is the flaw.

Considering the minimum amount of time (what AC B says) will allow the agruement to catch this flaw.

@LindsayGeer Hello! One thing I remember from the core lesson is that if the author states their opinion in the passage, the main idea includes the author's opinion because the author's reasoning/point/idea for writing the passage was to share their opinion.

@calliekoskovich I think the author overlooks a bigger issue in the requirements (although you bring a good point)

The requirement is that the initial instructions are repeated many times; however, Mesmosis instead repeats each subsequent instruction 1000 times. Well, how many times was Mesmosis initial command repeated? We have no clue.

The video did not address this as it should have, and I missed this flaw even on a blind review.

The only thing needed in this argument is for Britta's arguments to be less reasonable than Roberts. Just as stated in the first sentence, Roberts facts were worse than Brittas.

Maybe this is the Olympic Debate Nationals (I made that up lol). These two debaters could be very talented! It's not needed that one has to be quite unreasonable, just like Roberts facts were not just lies.

The fact that Roberts ' performance was now considered just as good it MUST be true that Roberts was more reasonable (as that plays a part in scoring). If it was not true that Roberts ' argument was more reasonable, how is his performance just as good?

Wouldn't another assumption be that nothing else causes gum disease??

@LSATTAKER I took this in the PT; my worst section.

I accidentally read the question as a most strongly inferred which D would be a good answer for... at least from what my thought process was. World War I started the labor demand and had to continue when immigration was cut off.

However, rereading the question B makes the most sense for adding support to the author, NOT what is supported by the passage.

@BigMac it cannot be A because A-->B<-->C therefore, A<-->C is not a valid arugument.

Think of A, B, and C as buckets. U put all of A into B. Then you only put SOME B into C. Some just means more than one; you cannot guarantee that you will pick up A in the mixed bucket of A & B.

The valid argument you're thinking of is A<-->B-->C Therefore A<-->C.

This argument, you put some A into B, then if you take that mixed bucket of A & B and put it ALL into C, you will definitely get at least 1 A from that mixed "some" bucket.
