I really wish they would start giving us harder questions. The last like 6 practice questions have been the easiest kind

Be giving me a false sense of security

I'm getting my answer choices down to 2 consistently, but struggle to pick the right one between those 2

1/5 on initial and then 5/5 on blind because I just went with the one that I didn't pick

this actually made sense. when ive been answering these types of questions, I think i;ve been trying to find the answer that proves the author's point to be true, not just strengthens their argument

we aren't trying to make the argument true, just make the author look better

some is only used when all can't be

If the Raptors escaped, either Nedry turned off the fences or the Raptors outsmarted the humans

RE-> NF or RoH

If Nedry turned off the fences or the Raptors outsmarted the humans, then the Raptors escaped

NF->

----------RE

RoH->

Right?

Triceratops is part of the ceratopsian family. A defining aspect of all ceratopsians is a large bony frill on the back of their skull. Therefore, Triceratops has a large bony frill

So like for question 1, I put my lawgic as

hunting permitted -> deer pop has not increased in last 8 years

/hunting permitted -> /deer pop has not increased in last 8 years

Like I'm basically just making the second statement a double negative. Is that a bad thing, or am I fine doing that

Correct me if im wrong but essentially what this saying is that in the 'only if' sentence, the student does not have to be marked as late. Them arriving 5+ minutes late does not mean that they will be cited as late, just that the now meet the condition and COULD be cited as late

Whereas with the 'if' sentence, if they're more than 5 minutes late, they WILL be marked as late

Basically, 'only if' -> they've now met the condition and the thing could happen

'if' -> the thing will happen

Is that right or am I way off

If A, then B

If X is A...

X is also B

Right?

All dromeosaurs are dinosaurs. Velociraptor is a dromeosaur, therefore Velociraptor is a dinosaur

A is B. C is A. therefore C is B

Right?

Superset: Dinosaurs

Subset: Ceratopsians

Being within the Ceratopsian subset is sufficient to be within the dinosaur superset (Triceratops is a dinosaur and ceratopsian)

Being within the dinosaur superset does not necessarily place you within the ceratopsian subset (T. Rex is a dinosaur, but not a ceratopsian)

This threw me off a little, so if anyone is struggling with determining the 'winner', just take out the 'no' or 'not', determine the winner that way and then just flip it

People should feel no more responsible for economic disasters than for military invasions.

-> People should feel more responsible for economic disasters than for military invasions.

  • economic disasters "wins" in this scenario

  • so for the original sentence, just flip the winner

  • -> military invasions wins

idk why but I was struggling to determine the winner cuz i kept overthinking it, but this helped me a little

Really confused on how sentence 3 is referring to the entire sentence. Isn't 'This' just referring to 'African American folk tradition'?

And in sentence 2, doesn't 'who' refer to 'privileged people' as well?

Modifiers aren't always non-essential correct? Like sometimes a modifier is necessary to fully understanding the sentence

I think that's what's been throwing me off this entire section. I keep classifying modifiers as distracters 100% of the time, when sometimes they aren't a distraction, and they're necessary to the sentence. And when I do that, I miss the modifiers cuz I place them as essential to understanding the sentence

@josephmgomez02822 yea i think hes just highlighting that words can act as verbs or nouns depending on the usage in a sentence

ex. 'I love you'. Love is a verb

'My family is full of love'. Love is a noun

Idk if im the only one but im just really confused on how Question 2 is even an argument. If anything I feel like that the last sentence "since macroeconomic forces are nothing more than the aggregation of individual microeconomic choices" is more of a conclusion, but that doesnt really leave a premise

Just confused on what exactly the argument that number 2 is trying to make is

A lot of people will say that Certified Lover Boy is a better album than Donda. However, CLB doesn't have a single song on the same level as the top 7 songs on Donda (Believe What I Say, Come to Life, Off the Grid, 24, Pure Souls, Life of the Party, Pure Souls). Therefore Donda is the better album
