Hi all!
I seem to be struggling with main idea question on the RC portion. I usually narrow it down to 2 answers, but almost always choose the incorrect one. Did anyone else struggle with this? And what strategies did you use to overcome it?

Note:
It list that it comes with a question bank? Is this real lsat questions that I can read then answer without buying the practice test? Also if I upgrade before my starter account expires can I get any cost break?
I'm behind in studying due to my mom passing away. My account is going to expire in 3 days. I really like the course thus far.
Thanks,
I'm looking for a study buddy! Preferably over Skype but would be up to meeting up too if you live nearby (I'm in the midwest). I'm planning to take the June LSAT and am looking for a gradual study plan. Currently scoring 165 and don't mind working with people who are just starting out -- it would be good review for me too.
.
I have one LOR from an undergrad professor who knows me very well and always writes a superb letter for me.
I've been in the working world for 2 years, so I'm wondering would it be better for me to get another LOR from an undergrad law professor (likely to be run of the mill review) or a current boss of mine (great review)? This would mean letting my boss know that I plan to leave the company to go to law school.
OR should I use a character reference that would definitely be a glowing review of my work ethic?
If A most are B and B most are C is it correct to say A most are C ?
For personal statements, or through other application requirements, to what extent should you address the type of practice you intend to pursue? What degree do adcoms expect an applicant to know what they want to do? Is it enough to express general interest in certain areas without a clear idea of where you want to end up? Is this even expected to be expressed in any part of the application at all or is it typically the case that applicants aren't fixated on a type of practice?
Hey 7Sage Community,
I used to be super active on 7Sage until I mid-life crisised pretty hard and decided to get a master's degree before law school. I'm getting back into the LSAT game and would love to be an active mentor again so don't hesitate to contact me! I bumped my LSAT date to December, 2016 so I'll be around these waters for a long time coming.
Happy New Year!
Ok folks, a lot of us around here are waiting on Gray Day results for the December test. This is, as always, and occasion for solidarity. What are you doing instead of driving yourself crazy??
As for me, I'm playing Fallout 4 (Oh, and ... finishing apps :) ) and trying to heal from my first Crossfit experience (#brutality).
Here's my F4 character (I think Paladin Danse is gonna make a move soon):

I'm sitting for the Feb test, and if I could consistently get games to -1 or -0 as so many people say is possible then I'd be hitting 175+ on almost every test. I've read the games bible twice, I've done almost every game from preptests 7-38 several times with 7sage explanations, and yet I still can't seem to adapt to new wrinkles when I see a game for the first time. Time is an issue, as I constantly have to mechanically refer to the rules to check my work on questions. Diagramming any type of slightly unusual game is a huge problem. I'm particularly bad at seeing spatial patterns within games.
I don't know if I should stick with the strategy of repetition or what. Maybe the games will just get easier as I do the newer tests? I just have no confidence on this section whatsoever because my performance is so unreliable.
Any suggestions?
"Hey, I hope you guys don’t mind me dropping in on this epic thread. I did so because I wanted to clarify the point above, so that everyone understood how it works. For June and October, LSAC typically gives us (test prep companies) a heads-up that scores will be released that day. They don’t do that for February, because that LSAT is not released to the public. In December, it depends on when the test is released. If it’s released during the LSAC break or on a holiday, no company gets prior notice (because there’s no admins there). So, if scores are released any time in the next four days, no one will know until the indicators go gray. I know that’s confusing, but that’s just how they do it. If it was up to me, I’d release your scores right now!
Anyway, I just thought that was worth knowing. Thanks!"

This was pretty tricky, and I got it right, but I still don’t have a good understanding of what is technically wrong with A. How is answer choice A not directly contradicting one of P’s premises? It must not because it isn’t the right answer choice.
Video link: http://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-69-section-4-question-15/
L: You philosophers say that linguists don’t understand language, but you haven’t provided evidence of that.
P: You say that “J and I are siblings” means the same thing as “I and J are siblings.” This isn’t true since the word order is different. For two things to be identical, everything must be the same.
What I am looking for: Both make pretty bad arguments (L makes an absence of evidence flaw), but we really only need to undermine P’s reasoning. P is wrong because he misses the point of what it means to “understand language.” The order of the words doesn’t matter necessarily; it’s the total meaning that matters. P assumes that “identical meaning” is influenced by the “physical” placement of the words.
Answer A: To me, this is attacking one of P’s premises directly (and that was one of the reasons I didn’t pick this one). Attacking the premise is technically an OK way to undermine an argument; the real issue is that the LSAT is very good at creating answer choices that SEEM to attack premises, but they really don’t. This one is different in my mind since it flat out contradicts the final independent clause of P's fact pattern. P defines “identical things” as “things having all of the same attributes.” If L responded, “I disagree with your definition since two things can have a few minor differences and be identical [referring to minor differences in physical structure, but identical meaning]” doesn’t this weaken the argument by directly attacking the truth of P's premise?
Answer B: I think this strengthens P’s argument since it provides another way that differences (context) matter.
Answer C: Wtf?
Answer D: This more succinctly hits the main point, and it is a much better answer choice that A. The issue is over “meaning," not the order of the words.
Answer E: More experience? So what?
Can't remember where I saw a picture of a PT with tape as a binder but it made me wonder if there is an easy way to more mimic testing conditions with a bound test. On a positive note, having the PT on loose pages actually slows me down forcing me to move quicker thru the PT. Curious about ingenious ideas to take PTs beyond diapers strategies:)
I believe I have a strange situation regarding my LSAC GPA calculation. In high school I took dual-credit courses with the local junior college that partnered with my HS. We could take these courses that would give us college credit but would not count towards our college GPA; instead, the grade we received counted towards our HS GPA. The JC represented these courses on the transcript as a 'B' that was not calculated in the GPA and my University did the same with the added detail that it was a transfer credit from the JC. However, LSAC included these B's in my cumulative GPA. The coincidental part is that my cumulative GPA is the same whether or not those grades are included in the calculation since my cumlative GPA is a 3.03. The only difference if these grades are included is that some semesters they decrease my cumulative and other semesters they increase my cumulative. If I had actually studied in college and had a 4.0 I would be pissed that these B's were included in my cumulative when I actually earned A's as far as my HS is concerned, but since it's the same either way I don't know what I should do. Should I contact LSAC or the JC to say that these grades should not be included in the cumulative calculation? I would think it would look better to Law Schools if these courses were just listed as credits instead of B's even though the ending cumulative GPA calculation is the same no matter what.
Anyone have any thoughts on this confusing situation? Thanks!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!!!

Note:
wondering what people think about this issue? would it be better to attend a school ranked from 16-20 with full/near-full scholarship vs a school ranked from 10-14 but with no scholarship? I thought I wanted biglaw but now I'd like to keep my options open, especially after talking to people that work in biglaw. obviously t14 with substantial scholarship is the best option but i don't think that is likely.

June BR Group Schedule: http://classic.7sage.com/discussion/#/discussion/6171/june-test-takers-group-br-schedule-updated
Note: these tests (PTs 29-35) are part of the 7Sage curriculum and, for all intents and purposes, are retakes. That being said, I think it’s a great way to build up our LSAT fluency by taking an actual PT without having to use the modern tests until we absolutely have to. Another way of thinking about this is we are essentially going to do BR groups of the 7Sage curriculum, something I know a lot of students have requested. Some people might disagree with me, but I don’t think it wouldn't be a waste of time or effort for someone who is still working through the curriculum to do this PT, BR it and then meet up for the call.
NOTE: Great News! Starting now, we’ll be using GoToMeeting for all of our BR group needs. (It’s also why we’ve already released the link to the workshop!) More details to come!

@"J.Y. Ping" is hard at work updating and upgrading some of 7sage's video content. One of the best features of 7sage is that the course is constantly evolving. I'll be sharing some cool new features and examples of updated content over the next few weeks.
While we're all gearing up for February/June or waiting for Gray Day, let's enjoy this first installment—guess which game it is?

On my resume I listed my current GPA which includes this most recent semester's grades. However, Lsac has not processed my updated transcript yet so the gpa listed there is like .02 lower than my gpa now. I plan to submit my applications as soon as the score comes in from dec test which I anticipate being sooner than they process my transcript. Will the ad comms recognize that my gpa on my resume is reflecting current term or will it come off as disingenuous if they don't have my new transcript yet?
Should the PS and the DS be clearly distinct, or is overlap ok? I want to hone in on my adverse experiences and how they have shaped me in my PS, but I am realizing this is also what I could use to craft a great DS. Should I use this info in a DS and go a different route in the PS? Any help would be appreciated.
Everyone’s schedules are hectic especially during the holidays but I want to encourage everyone to attend a webinar. Fortunately, my schedule has allowed me to attend all of the webinars and I have gained invaluable insight and value during the sessions. Having the mentors break down their thought processes and strategies has given new meaning to the “one size doesn’t fit all” when tackling this beast of a test. We are the benefactors of exceptional people taking personal time to share their knowledge and experiences – high & low – so that we can achieve or even surpass our goals. I am so thankful for this community and the webinars are another example of how members that have benefited from being a part of 7Sage are passing their experiences and wisdom forward to us. The truly interactive experience in the Webinars and Blind Review calls is where I am learning how to apply the knowledge gained from the curriculum. Whether on "mute" as some of us have had to do, being a part "real-time" can make a difference in the value of the sessions. We are fortunate that the webinars are recorded but there is so much more to be gained if you can attend – the running chat dialogue is challenging and supportive, volunteers are given a free tutor session, and the Q&A part not recorded is possibly the most invaluable aspect of the sessions (hint: don’t leave the sessions unless you have time constraints and ask questions!!). Thanks again to everyone involved:)
I am taking the Feb 2016 test and looking for friends to study with!! Let me know if your in the area.
