Wondering if anybody on here has just taken the Sept 2017 LSAT in Australia? It is different from the US version and hoping to gain any insight into the experimental sections/any general thoughts you had !

I had 3 LR so i know that my LG and RC were real.

From what i can remember:

LG1: One layer sequencing game

Had a Condition that M-W.

R either first or 6th

LG2: Something with artefacts

LG3:[completely skipped as pressed for time]

LG4: Double layer sequencing game

Buildings being erected either Upper or Lower (Buildings FGHI)

RC:

-reading about kente woven fabric

-reading about whether chemistry and physics are linked

-reading about law systems in UK and technology

Any info about how many questions were in each of your LRs would be super helpful!

Thanks :))))

I'm an idiot. I registered for the LSAT prior to the deadline for November. It asked for a photo and I just uploaded a selfie from a while ago because it was perfect - plain photo background, no shadows, etc. I began to read the requirements and I think I'm screwed. For starters, I lost about 25 pounds since then. Secondly, I shaved my beard about 3 weeks ago so it's not as full. Genuinely worried that my test is not even going to happen because I was being stupid and wasn't thinking carefully. The anxiety is officially through the roof. Not sure what to do.

I have worked abroad for the last decade and my undergraduate and master's degrees were attained far in past. I think Moses wasn't shaving yet when I got my MA. I am not deterred by the notion of having my LOR translated, but I do worry about the authors' facility with LSAC's English-only website.

If anyone knows about the step-by-step process for uploading LOR, I would like to translate it. I have asked LSAC for the same with screen shots, but am preemptively asking here in case they come up gor nisht.

Of course, in the event that LSAC comes through, then all of your birthdays will have come at once and I'll be the one doling out the multilingual screen shots.

Thanks in advance? You're welcome in advance? To be concluded...

Hey everyone, I've been noticing in PTs that my second LR section score is significantly lower than the first LR section. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you get past it? Unfortunately, I feel like I mentally check out by the time I get to the second LR section because I just want it to be over with. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because it's really bringing my PT scores down.

Hello, I am currently scoring 161 and have tried to join study groups in the past but unfortunately, they have become inactive or study at different times than I do. I study in the evenings east coast time starting at 4 pm ET to nighttime. Is there anyone else who would like to study together in the evenings and keep each other accountable? We could do it over zoom, discord or even WhatsApp. If anyone is interested, please DM me.

Hey guys! So two of us were discussing this question on the BR call last night. I chose D, which is the correct answer, but I want confirmation for why E is wrong.

The question asks for a characteristic of "games that are intentionally commodified." The pertinent lines in the passage read: "By contrast, tax doctrine and policy counsel taxation of the sale of virtual items for real currency, and, in games that are intentionally commodified, even of in-world sales for virtual currency, regardless of whether the participant cashes out."

So we know we are looking for instances of in-world sales, or virtual to virtual, with perhaps the possibility of conversion into real money. With this we can eliminate A, which concerns real to virtual; B, which describes pure barter with no virtual currency component; and C, which does not directly address in-world trade.

I chose D because the first sentence of Passage B explains that a way in which some games encourage real-world trade in virtual items is by granting participants intellectual property rights in their creations. This aligns with the "intentional commodification" aspect.

But why is E wrong? It's talking about virtual to virtual, and I don't think it would be a stretch to assume that you could convert one of these currencies into real money. Currency conversion is, in a strict sense, a "sale," so converting one virtual currency into another would be an in-world sale. Is it because the passages never talk about different types or trade between virtual currency and as such this is new information? Or because the word "exchange" in answer choice E alludes to a barter rather than a sale?

I would appreciate anyone's help on this!

So i have the premium pack now, but i will take the test on September which will be digital. So i want to upgrade to ultimate which has up to PT 71. However, is ultimate+ worth it since it has the latest PTs? or there isn't much difference between ultimate and ultimate+?

DON’T FORGET TO CLICK THIS LINK: https://join.skype.com/w7McAagFN3pf

IF YOU DON’T CLICK THIS LINK YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE BR GROUP

Note:

  • For the newbies: Add me on Skype, using handle dmlevine76 and PM your email for Google Hangout.
  • For the regulars: If for some reason you're not in the group conversation[s] already, just message me on Skype.
  • For everyone: take the PT under timed conditions; BR as you are able; join us for all or part of the call—everyone is welcome.
  • Note: For the purposes of the call, we like to check our group blind review score together at the very end of the call :) So at least don't say ... "No guys, really, it's D, I checked it."
  • These groups work best when folks from ALL stages of prep and with all different goals join in! Not just for "super-preppers" and definitely not just for the casual LSATer (does such a person exist?).
  • The only expectation anyone has for these calls is for you to have fun and ask questions as you desire. We are just a bunch of LSAT lovers who gather via Skype and intellectually slaughter each test.

Is there a summary of all of the different question types for LR that briefly explains the strategy for handling each of them? I am not opposed to putting one together myself, but if there is already one available, well then that saves me some time!! Thank you.

I am confused by question 8. I was down to C and E, ultimately chose E, but only due to pure luck.

I don't know why C is supported but E is not.

The potential support for C is in line 23, where it says "one problem in studying the effects of drilling waste discharges..." But it just says there is a problem in studying. It doesn't say that the study is done. Perhaps the study wasn't done due to the problem. Who knows? Another potential support is just the whole second and third paragraphs of Passage B. They tell us that WBM is less harmful than OBM to the environment. That potentially implies that a study was done?

The potential support for E is in line 32, where it says that Drilling mud is normally released during the drilling phase of a well's existence. We know that the mud is discharged, although we don't know if it is continuously discharged into the sea.

To me, C and E both have weak support. I don't know why C is more supported than E.

Is anyone else having issues with the audio in Safari? It was working fine until a few weeks ago. Its okay with the other browsers but I like Safari better because you don't have to wait for the video to load. Could it be something to do with having Ad Block or a missing codec or something?

    Hi everyone,

Been on 7Sage since earlier this summer and have gone through the coursework. Now I'm working on PrepTests. I have access through PrepTest 55 and plan on upgrading to get access to the full PrepTest library.

I've seen people comment on how the LSAT changes over time - usually to get more difficult and ensure the curve. Anyone have a general timeline of the step changes, e.g. Preptests 55-68 are one level of difficulty (usually LG), but then Preptests 69 onward jump it up a notch in the RC section, etc?

Sorry if this is a duplicate post.

    Hi there!

So I finally started getting to all four a couple of weeks ago, which was really exciting for me (I'll do a write up on the 7sage forum posts that made that possible for me after Sat). What I've noticed in this last week however is, that I'm not getting to the last two or so questions (sometimes). I'm wondering if that's because of my policy of saving the comparative passage for last? There's no particular reason for it, it was something a fellow 7 sager mentioned he did because they gave him trouble and so I tried it out (though I haven't noticed the same issue in my takes). Sometimes I do it last because the comparative has fewer questions than the remaining passage (less point potential), but sometimes I just do it automatically rather than waste time thinking about it mid test, and I've almost been too afraid of losing the progress I've made to try the other way (I know, it's not something I should be afraid of and yet). Problem is, sometimes I get to the last passage with not much more than 5 min left. Maybe 6.5 or so. So I wanted to ask what you all thought. If I did the comparative passage earlier, do you think I would be able to get to more questions?

    LR advice

Hi everyone :). I would really appreciate some advice on the LR section of the LSAT. I have studied the LR section of the exam through 7 sage+ LSAT trainer. I have recently done around 5 sections untimed sections from multiple tests. I have been scoring around 15-16/25-26. I would really like to increase that score. I am wiring the exam in October and I want to get around 21-22 questions right under timed conditions. I was planning to keep doing full sections after sections till my score increases, and then time myself. I am also making sure that I read the explanation for why I am getting the questions wrong. I wanted some advice. Should I continue to do individual sections ? Or should I review the LR curriculum again ?

    Thank You :)

    Hi,

I've seen a few message boards concerning group chats. However, it's not clear whether these message boards are translating to real groups being formed. I'll offer to start a discord group for anybody that is aiming to take the LSAT in September and or October, as I am.

    My user is @dcforrapii

Send me a message, and I'll start it up :)

    Hi everyone,

My average PT score right now is 168.5 (highest was a 175) with my recent scores in the 169-173 range; my BRs are consistently in the low-mid 170s. My GPA is 3.79 (it's lower than my actual GPA cuz I went to a quarter-system school: kill me).

I have not started writing any essays and I want to apply this fall. Is it worth it to get any kind of admissions consulting? I'm paying out of pocket and there are so many free resources available, so I'm doubting the value of paid consulting. But I also want to produce the best possible application. What do y'all think?

Secondly, I would love to study for the September/October with some peers based in the Bay or the Pacific Time Zone. If you live around the Fremont or Milpitas area, let me know and we can study in-person at a library or coffee shop. If not, I'm happy to use Zoom!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I'm pretty set on putting in applications for this application cycle, but know there is a possibility I would want to defer or re-apply during a later cycle so that I can continue to pursue other goals. I'm wondering how declining admission to a school (T14) would impact a later application. I have heard that declining admission if you got off the waitlist looks very bad. Are deferrals ever granted for 2+ years? How soon after receiving an admissions offer does one have to make their decision?

    Thank you.
