I figured since there is no explanation video on this one, I'd offer my two cents. Please feel free to respond if my explanation is lacking anything or if you have a better one.

So the correct AC is B and here is why. The stimulus tells us that essentially that scientists relying on social reasons like prestige is not actually a bad thing when they are accepting arguments because social reasons are used to influence every human endeavor. The reason why this is the flaw is because it essentially relies on the fact that this justification is used so often as a valid reason to justify this claim. We know this because social reasons are stated to influence every human behavior, highlighting the frequency of use. The principle behind this argument is "if a justification is used frequently then the justification is valid. But obviously this is not true, just because a justification is used frequently it doesn't mean it is at all a valid way of supporting the argument. I mean we can even use real life examples to really highlight how wrong this claim is. Human emotions also influence every human endeavor, does that mean scientists are justified in accepting scientific arguments based on human emotions and is it right that doing so isn't detrimental? Of course not, doing so would lead to so many biases and flawed groundless conclusions.

I'll also disprove C because it seems to be a popular AC. The reason why this is not the correct AC is because it is not the flaw. This AC is saying that the argument does not consider the fact that these scientists in addition to relying on social reasons also consider relevant evidence when accepting these claims. This actually sounds like it is strengthening the argument. Now we have evidence that these scientists are not just blindly accepting arguments based on social reasons and that there is actually some actual definitive evidence behind these justifications.

This is how I explained this question to myself, I'm curious to know your thoughts.

Hi all,

I have been studying for 2 months now and my score has not been all over the place it seems from between 145-148. Any advice on how I can change my studying to get to my goal score 160 by October. As of right now I just started using 7sage and I am going through the curriculum and have taken two exams averaging a 148. I just feel stuck and overwhelmed.

Feeling Lost

I'm hoping to get a 170 on the June test (6/6/24). Usually I do the best with logic games (-1/-0). Lately, I'm feeling like I'm regressing as I get closer to my test date. Any tips? Ways to stay motivated?

Here's a breakdown of my PTs (I've been taking 2-3 a week for the past few weeks, but my earliest one was 6 months ago):

PT66 - 149 (earliest)

PT68 - 149

PT20 - 159

PT47 - 165

PTJ07 -163

PT72 - 163

PT76 - 167

PT77 - 162

PT79 - 167

PT80 - 171 (when I started doing 2-3 a week)

PT81 - 166

PT82 - 168

PT83 - 177

PT84 - 168

PT85 - 169

PT86 - 166

PT87 - 167

PT88 - 166 (today)

Any help/advice/motivation would be appreciated :)

Is there any way to get an estimated timeline for when the videos will be released for: Conditional and Set Logic, Logic of Intersecting Sets, Formal Logic Flaws, Logic of Causation. I appreciate it takes time to record the videos, however I find it much harder to focus and absorb the lessons without the audio component. If it seems the videos will take too long before August, I would rather try to learn these lessons from other sources. I appreciate any feedback or advice!

I finished 1L at the Fordham Law. I want to share.

The Cost of Attendance was $116,782

Tuition was (the following year more) $71,224

Class size for 1L: 93 (the number of people in my classroom).

My points about Fordham law:

The quality of education: as low as it gets.

The professors need to be more engaging and interested in their topic.

Most students would not attend the classes if not the mandatory attendance.

I have a law degree and practiced law outside of the US. And I loved it. But experience in Fordham law school would make me feel the opposite.

Alright, first things first, I've never made a forum post before, so I apologize if this one is bad, but I needed to get some insight from people.

As the title says, I'm a bit of a splitter. I have a CAS GPA of 3.43. I haven't taken the LSAT yet, but I took my diagnostic about a month ago and scored a 157, and I'm averaging around a 164 now. I'm aiming for around a 168, but I believe it's realistic that I could score a little higher.

The issue is that I transferred to a different school after freshman year, and it hadn't occurred to me that law schools would look at my grades from that school. Not counting my freshman year I have a 3.65, and every year after freshman year I have consistently increased my GPA. I genuinely believe that I had extenuating circumstances that affected my GPA freshman year, and I'm planning on submitting an addendum, but I'm wondering how much of a difference it'll make.

If one ignores my freshman year grades, then I have a competitive GPA and a presumably competitive LSAT for some higher ranked schools (t50 I'm guessing), but obviously these grades will not just be ignored. I guess what I'm asking is whether or not I could still consider myself to be a competitive candidate for these schools despite my low GPA, or if I should just significantly decrease my expectations.

For context, I have one or two good softs, but generally not great. I have held multiple leadership positions in clubs and my fraternity, was a varsity athlete for two years, briefly competed in powerlifting, and worked with a local music artist who had an album reach the iTunes top 200 chart. I'm also working on an Economic Honors Project, where I'm creating an index to calculate a country's level of geopolitical risk, doing a research fellowship on sustainable energy policy, and am a writing tutor at my school.

My mom suggested that I stay in college for an additional term after I receive my degree to boost my GPA, but this would have pretty marginal benefits, and be pretty expensive, so I think this isn't a great idea.

Sorry I probably rambled for a bit. Thanks for any advice.

Hello,

The previous prep tests that included LG had PDF versions of them. I usually like to print them out and take them that way so that I can mark it up. I don't see PDF options for the new prep tests. I'm retaking the test in August and was wondering if 7Sage will provide PDF versions of the new PTs.

Thanks,

Hello All!

I am hoping to take the test in August 2024 & October 2024 before submitting my apps in November, and I just switched my syllabus to the newer August format…but I am alarmed that that is not enough content to study with. Am I wrong? Any tips or advice for studying? Anyone know if there is something I am missing? How are y’all prepping?

Thank you :)

Will there ever be answer choice where both authors disagree with it and that would be considered that they both agree (to disagree) answer?

(Example: LSAT 80, Logical Reasoning I, Q18)

This is a both agree question, however, I was wondering if there could be a scenario where both of them disagree on an answer choice (and that would be considered an agree to disagree)? Feel like there’s a simple explanation for this but I was thinking about it.

So, I am starting 7Sage today. I plan to take the LSAT in January (giving myself enough time to study) for around 6 hours weekly. I have ADHD, so I was planning on using the study schedule that 7Sage can make for the added structure. I don't see a diagnostic test on there. I found the link, but should I hold off on it? I do want to know my baseline and what my natural strengths are, but I've never been great at taking standardized tests, and I am worried that if I get a low score, I will be discouraged.

RC can kick rocks. I have been studying my ass off to get better at RC and have watched my scores get significantly WORSE! WTF, this shit makes no sense. I am consistent -3 to -5 on LR and consistent -0 to -3 LG, but my RC is anywhere from -4 to -12. And the worst part is that I don't even know what to do. I have tried reading like it is super exciting, slowing down to just comprehend, focusing on language strength, identifying main points, I've hired multiple tutors, and done the RC hero method. Bro, why does none of that shit work? What do I even do? Am I cooked?

Hello, I am a junior will be a senior next semester and I have been studying for the lSAT since January. I got the Kaplan book and read front to back, completed all the practice exams on kahn academy, have a tutor who i work with frequently, and have done many lessons to improve my scores but i am still in a range of 146-153 ( scored 153 once and it was my best otherwise i get 149,148,147,or 146 alot). Anyway im taking my very first lsat exam on june 7th and i feel like at this point im not going to do well. I have a 3.9 GPA playing Divison one soccer. I am very dedicated and really want to get into law school but have never been the best test taker. i never get to answer the last 5 LR questions normally to my best abilities because i am rushing with time. Im not sure what i should do at this point. I have spent so much money and feel like a lot of time to do well on this exam but if any one has any advice they could give me i would really appreciate it!

Discouraged

I have been studying the 7sage curriculum since January and just took a second prep test after my diagnostic since January and my score only went up by 2 points is this normal idk what to do and I am taking my LSAT in August. I feel let down and as if I wasted my time.

Hi everyone! Is there a way I can adjust the "unlimited time" on drills in the a specific LR section? Or can I use a prep test to drill the section with the time limit? The only problem with that is I cannot click on the section I want to do.

What are the three ways to weaken an argument again? I only remember alternative hypothesis. I swear there was a lesson that taught this but I don't remember which one.
