Stimulus says: Manners are necessarily social (i.e. manners require a social element). Morals are not necessarily social (i.e. morals do not require a social element). Rules of etiquette do not apply to situations with morals or manners alone.

Things I noted upon reading:

  • If manners apply, we better see a social element.
  • Morals may apply if there is a social element. Morals may not apply if there is a social element.
  • Morals may apply if there is NOT a social element. Morals may not apply if there is NOT a social element.
  • Rules of etiquette will not apply to a situation that is purely moral or purely manners.
  • Rules may or may not apply to a situation that is both moral and manners.
  • Most strongly supported?

A: You can be immoral without causing harm. (i.e. you can not be moral in a case that is not social). Yep, this fits with #3 above.

B: An immoral act is never a violation of etiquette. This could be false if the situation also involved manners, so we can´t say it is supported.

C: Morality applies only when one is alone. I think you´d only choose this if you were hella confused.

D.: It is more important... I stopped reading right there and knew this was wrong. There is no comparison being made in the stimulus.

E: A social situation will never have anything to do with morality. Clearly wrong based on #2 and #3 described above.

This question doesn't have an explanation, so here's my thought process.

    Question Stem- Principle Question

Stimulus- Machines and tech alter our choices. (example). Clock altered our choices by allowing synch +. HOWEVER, clock also closed some doors. Living without clock is kinda impossible now.

So Machines and tech that alter our choices can have some downsides as well.

    A. This makes sense, however, the use of "enslave" and "liberate" sounds really extreme. Keep for now.

    B. No. The stimulus no where says what people should and shouldn't do.

    C. That MAY be true, however, not what the stimulus is saying.

    D. The stimulus does not weigh the pros and cons, so we don't know if it was worth our dependence or not.

    E. "Most"??? We only know about one instance that made our life more synchronized and productive. There MAY be more machines. However, that is not within the scope of the premises, and therefore out.

    Only answer remaining- A. Correct.

I am anxious to see my LSAC GPA, the 7sage calculator shows a substantial increase because of my community college grades. This new GPA opens up doors that were otherwise closed. I don't want to get my hopes up until I see the academic report. I don't plan on applying until October 2024. All I have sent are my transcripts could I still purchase CAS??

    Hey everyone,

I'm wondering on what's your approach on working through the Core Curriculum (CC) which includes some Practice Sets and then doing Extra Drills (making custom Drills on Problem Sets page). Specifically:

What is your weekly schedule like? While this is subjective, I am trying to understand what the balance of doing CC Topics, Practice Sets and extra Drills (if any) is for everyone.

Do you complete the week's assigned CC topics including all Problem Sets or leave some sets behind to come back say after finishing the CC?

When Doing the Problem sets after a CC topic (or even when doing extra Drills), what is your approach in regards to timing? I.E. Are you doing them in standard timing, or give yourself more time or do it in Untimed mode.

Thank you in advance for your support!

    Few facts:

  • Planning on taking October LSAT
  • Started studying from beginning of June 2022
  • Working my way through LR section
  • 0

Taking the September test next week [remotely] and I have been doing all my studying using my monitor and magic trackpad, I know the monitor will have to go on test day, but I scoured LSAC and Prometric's websites to see if a bluetooth mouse is allowed or not, the interest seems to indicate its fine but most answers are a few years old, so I'm unclear if policies have changed with the times or the new proctoring server.

Any guidance would be super helpful!

    PrepTest A - Section 1 - Question 21

I dont understand this question. I thought the flaw was making a generalization about one characteristic and placing the characteristic as a whole. Why isnt that right

If there are any groups, or individuals, interested, I am looking for a study group to join/start. I have been studying solo for a while and I am taking the upcoming August LSAT.

Again, if anyone is interested, just let me know.

    Thank you!

    stimulus :

"There can be a known known only if theres a known unknown, but there can never be an unknown unknown without a known unknown. Thus, every unknown unknown which is known is actually a known unknown which is unknown."

the conclusion above follows logically if which one of the following is assumed?

the content of this question is inspired by the "Rumsfeld Matrix." What would be a sufficient assumption for this question? Is this a hard question or did you find it on the easier end of SA questions?

Hello! Is there a Zoom link out there currently within the 7Sage community that allows people to join in whenever they want while taking PTs? I think it would be super helpful to practice this way as to ease my nerves on the day of the actual test (I've realized it distracts me to think someone is watching me take the test).

    Thank you!

Hey hey! If you're ready to get more practice taking a full LSAT Prep Test under simulated online proctor conditions, you're in the right place. Here's how our Proctored PTs work:

You must register in advance using this link: https://7sage.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZIocOCurT4jHtd7O3BdoLv03bCWpYWw2RKI Once you sign up, you'll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the meeting.

Select a PT that you want to take for the proctored test. This can be any PT; we recommend one that you haven't seen yet and that is at least as recent as PT 50. You can take the PT through 7Sage, or, if you want to simulate real test-day conditions, you can log into LawHub and take it there.

Show up to the Zoom meeting 10 minutes before the scheduled start time (12:50 pm ET). You will all be prompted to complete a room scan (similar to the test-day security measures) at the same time and then put into a breakout room by yourself to complete the test.

Simulate the test! Our 7Sage Proctor will monitor the testing process for the duration of your test and even simulate a pesky interruption. The Proctor will ask if anyone would like to be interrupted at the beginning of the session, and you will have the chance to privately message your preference. If only the ProctorU proctors would be so kind as to ask! If you have any approved accommodations, please let us know via private chat at the beginning of the session as well––you will be able to test with those.

If you have any questions, please email bailey.luber@7sage.com. We hope to see you there!

    A quick heads-up:

Since 2018, LSAC has partnered with Khan Academy to offer free LSAT prep. LSAC recently shared the news that they are now transitioning these resources to their own platform, LawHub.

    Here are the key takeaways:

  • Khan Academy's LSAT materials will begin transitioning to LSAC's LawHub in February 2024.
  • Starting February 2024, LawHub will feature many of the lessons, videos, and articles originally available on Khan Academy.
  • Khan Academy will continue to provide LSAT prep until June 2024.
  • In anticipation of the LSAT format change in August 2024, new prep materials will begin to be available on LawHub starting in February 2024.
  • Looking for a different reduced-price prep option? If you qualify for an LSAC fee waiver, you can sign up for 7Sage Core+Live for just $1 per year.

As title says, at this point in my studying i am only really getting the 5 star difficulty questions wrong. When i take untimed tests, I'm scoring in the high 170s (ik this doesn't matter lol), but on timed, I'm still scoring in the mid 160s and sometimes high 160s because of these dang 5 star questions!

Btw I am taking August lsat, no LG.

What seems to be the preferred method of studying when you reach this point? I recently also got an lsat lab subscription so I have more explanations available for these 5 star questions (7sage is great, but many explanations are missing or seemed rushed through). But other than drilling 5 stars and the ones I've got wrong, and going over them until i am 100% confident why its right, is there anything else I can be doing? Maybe specific types of drills or like confidence drills? I honestly don't know. I'm getting so tired of months and months of studying. I also have the loophole book so maybe that for LR help? I know I'm capable of 170s but not sure what that final push I need is. I feel like I've hit a plateau.

    Hello,

Can somebody link me the section in the syllabus for the strategies when taking a "double" reading comprehension section? I'm pretty good at all RC except for those questions that have to do with two passages

Will 7 sage's explanation videos change in accordance with the new prep tests on LSAC? I know that the new prep tests use prior material, but I'd to know how the explanation videos will change once games are gone. Thank you.

I am currently with three other people studying for the LSAT at Gangnam on weekdays afternoon. We book a study cafe meeting room for three hours and do one LG and one LR sections and discuss about why we have chosen an answer choice we chose. This method surprisingly helps on how we end up making a stupid decision when we choose an answer because we talk about our reasoning out loud. One member has an official score of 172 on the LSAT Flex, the other is a PhD student, and the last member is getting around 160s. We are slated to meet at Gangnam station study cafe on upcoming Wednesday, July 6 from 7:00 pm-10:00 pm. The fee for using the study cafe is 5,700 KRW per person. If anyone is interested in joining, please send me an email at valuequietness@gmail.com with a brief introduction whether in Korean or English. Thanks!

I was confused between answer choices A and E for this one.

Is A incorrect because it leaves out the part about researchers being puzzled by how kinglets are able to survive cold winter nights? I was trying to figure out if answer choice A had any descriptive/factual errors, but I couldn't find any, so I'm guessing the problem is that it doesn't address the fact that scientists are trying to figure out the mechanisms behind the birds' survival.

That seems to be the only difference between A and E.
