I want to know why answer E is wrong. In Manhattan Prep. It says "everyday food" is irrelevent to the question. However, couldnt water be part of everyday food? Is this also making assumptions?

What's up guys! After finishing the CC, how did you approach studying for the logical reasoning section? What worked? What didn't work? Thanks in advance.

I’ve been having issues with RC. When I review questions or watch videos, all it gives me is the breakdown of the passage and doesn’t help with real-time issues regarding how I should map out the passage under time constraints. I either write too little or I write too much; I either eat up time going back to the passage or I spend too much on the diagram and run out of time for the Qs, respectively. Does anyone have a better system, preferably one that references the structure and a low resolution summary?

Hi everyone, I've recently drilled timed sections from the earlier PTs (1-15) and have seen my LR section score improve from about -4/-5 (later PTs) to -2/-3 (earlier PTs) and my RC score improve from -4 (later PTs) to -2 (earlier PTs) in the past two weeks. I've also noticed that I'm able to breeze through the questions faster with time to spare and more confidence at the end of the section. Is this most likely a reflection of an actual skill improvement, or are the earlier PTs easier? There seems to be varying information and opinions about the weight that should be given to earlier PTs.

It's also very likely that I am reading too much into the minor variance from the earlier PTs to current PTs, but I'm a bit nervous to see the results of a new, more recent PT.

I'm feeling down. On lawhub ive been averaging 154-156 on my PTS. I decided to start doing PTs on 7sage so i can track my analytics. The past 3 times ive taken a PT on 7sage , the highest score i got was 149. I'm so confused. I dont know if im regressing or if it is just the layout/format of the platform. Has anyone else had a similar problem?

Looking for anyone that would be interested in having a virtual study group session on weekends. Having trouble focusing on studying on weekends and would really benefit from having a scheduled time to study with people virtually. Also would enjoy talking through difficult questions, study strategies, etc. Preference for those in PST but open to CT/ET as well. Currently scoring around 166.

I'm trying to improve my LR, but I'm really struggling under timed conditions. What advise do you guys have to get -5 or less consistently?

I'm a little unclear on a few things. Perhaps you can help me out.

1. Is the idea to do one passage again and again for practice like the LG method? I ask this because it seems like the marginal returns will begin to diminish quite quickly. I suppose I'll be able to answer my question here empirically once I start doing this in earnest myself; but hey, what are these forums for if not to free ride a little bit?

2. If the answer to my first question is no, then why only 6-8 passages? Why not, time permitting, do this with literally every single passage that one doesn't plan take in a PT?

I completed PTA RC, which doesn't have video or written explanations for the answers. Despite getting the answer correct, there was a major time sink on my end for the first question of the first passage. I want to reaffirm my thinking for the right / wrong ACs. Could anyone who has taken this PT confirm or revise my understanding?

AC A: Clandestine marriages is not at all supported by Donahue's position, lines 46-48 state that "so long as they acted in accordance with established bann procedures, a couple could marry without parental consent and still enjoy the blessing of the Church." Bann compliance is not considered clandestine. I had no trouble finding support against this.

HOWEVER, I struggled with whether the first part of this AC (concerning synthesis) is descriptively accurate and broad enough to be the MP. Is it accurate to say that "the doctrine of marriage by Pope Alexander III represented a synthesis of traditional ecclesiastical dnd legal opinion"? Would this sentence be accurate and potentially good enough for a revised MP or am I misunderstanding the passage?

AC B: More support for this is provided by the passage; no issues. (Based on mutual consent is supported by paragraph 1. Encouraged marriages based on love is supported in paragraph 2.)

If the target school has specific instructions on how to submit LOCIs, follow the school’s instructions.

If the target school provides no such guidance, it may be better to send a LOCI shortly before a school’s DD. Prior to the DD, the school would have been receiving deposits all spring. The outlines of the class are likely coming into focus. At the same time, they may be previewing their WL to see who are the best candidates to admit if necessary. Depending on the size of the WL, which may differ from school to school and from year to year, someone in the admissions office is probably keeping track of the WL and taking note of strong files, very interested files, and notable files based on admissions officers’ interactions throughout the cycle. This is where points of contact and LOCIs are distinguishing.

If it looks like the school is going to receive a total number of deposits that is short of their expectations, given the expected melt through the summer, they will go to the WL. Some schools may have already been reaching out to current admits by phone or by email to get a sense of how many deposits to expect in the lead up to and on the DD. When the DD has come and gone, if the deposits are down, some schools may chase down earlier admitted students to see if they forgot or could be persuaded to deposit with enhanced admissions offers. Some schools will not follow up and go directly to the WL if necessary. If a school has received more deposits than expected and they are concerned about bringing in too large a class, they may do neither.

Continuous curating of the WL throughout the spring by the admissions office makes sense because schools will want to act quickly with new offers at the ready. They would not likely wait until the day after the DD to start looking at 500-1000 files on the WL. If an interested candidate sent a LOCI shortly before the DD, admissions would more likely consider this recent activity to yield a deposit than a LOCI sent back in January and then silence afterwards.

If the candidate sends the LOCI a week after the DD, it too will bring attention to their file as the school is preparing their WL admit letters. However, if the school only needs to make a handful of admit offers off the WL, perhaps they school already has a list of new admits prepared and will have decided or acted by the time the post-DD LOCI arrives.

Trying to predict an admissions office’s actions or motivations is an impossible task since strategies change all the time. Trying to time receipt of the LOCI becomes less of an issue if the candidate has maintained a good line of communication with the admissions office before the DD. Polite, professional contact every four weeks or so as a WL'd candidate is a reasonable approach. Good luck!

I am preparing to take the June LSAT and have been drilling specific question types with which I struggle the most. This will be my first LSAT, so I anticipate taking the test again later on, and I am concerned that I am going to run out of clean questions for use in future studying. Is this something to be concerned about, and should I limit my drills of a certain question type as a result?
