I just took the Feb 1997 PT (my second one ever), and got what I feel is a very unusually high score. I noticed this test is not numbered consistently with the others and that 7sage placed it right after the end of the CC. Is this test just unusually easy or not representative of other PTs? I'm just curious as to why it is set apart/not used in the CC given how old it is.

any tips for "except" question types? I feel like I always mess these up because I end up getting confused halfway through and almost forget what I am looking for. I am not fully through the CC yet but JY's current strategy for these seems like it was designed for when the test was taken by hand as opposed to digitally.

I am looking for a study buddy in Sacramento, California for in-person study and discussions. My PT scores are in the low 150s. My lowest scores are in the AR (Logic Games) section. If I don't time myself, I find that I do much better. Speed seems to be my worst barrier in Logic Games. I love LR section and have achieved quite some milestone. Should I be watching the video for core curriculum and solving the problems before hand?

Just got my June 2024 score back, and although not terrible, I will be rewriting so wanted to ask the following question to redirect my studying. When studying for the June test, I noticed that my BR scores were consistently above 172 (peaking at 177), whereas my PT scores averaged around a 165-166 (peaking at 170). My blind review process usually took the time and a half of an actual PT, so its pretty clear to me that my disproportionate scoring is due to speed issues. There are other factors as well (being able to fool proof LG in BR easily, being able to take mental breaks, etc.), but I think timing is the major issue as opposed to fundamental issues.

I wanted to ask those of you who may have experienced the same thing, how you improved your scores, or in other words, made your BR scores a reality? Since my best, or at least most reliable, section will no longer be on the test, I'm trying to offset the potential for a scoring decrease. I know practice is likely gonna be many people's answers, but I felt that I hit a plateau in terms of timing and improvement, where if I had more time and continued to just practice the way I was, my improvement would have been minimal. This is why I figured I'd ask for any specific advice to help with my issue.

Additionally, I'm willing to spend a bit more money to invest in other prep materials to maybe break out of this plateau (cause I'm rather desperate lol). So any recommendations for prep materials that helped people with this issue would also be greatly appreciated. I'm considering purchasing the Loophole and the RCHero course, so insights into these prep materials and perhaps whether they helped people with speed issues is also greatly appreciated! :)

Sorry for the post, just figured I'd restart my studying by hearing some people's opinions on this. And for those of you who were also not satisfied with your June mark, keep your chin up and keep fighting, soon enough we'll all come out of this having conquered this dastardly test!

So I decided to wait until January for the LSAT. I had some pretty significant losses and struggles summer 23 and did not feel I would be ready by November. I even switched full-time jobs in November.

With that is the January LSAT too late for applications too really be considered?

Some people on the forms have talked about this admissions cycle being much slower then normal. Is that what most people are experiencing even in offers?

I have seen so much variation in opinion and I know we are not in the minds of the admissions office, but still just want to gauge general feelings on this.

Stats wise my UGPA was 3.91 (3.92 with CAS report) from a decently competitive institution. I had some technical issues in my final section of the Jan LSAT but otherwise felt really comfortable with all the questions I had.

I know we will all be super stressed until the scores are released...

I took the June LSAT and plan on retaking in November. I just recently got 7Sage, I am wondering if I should just go through all of the videos and then begin taking practice tests or should I be incorporating practice tests as I go through the videos?

I was consistently getting -2 on my PTs and after the April exam, I can't seem to get a PT with an RC score higher than -7. Any advice about how to get out of this rut (soon hopefully)? Any drilling advice for these next couple of days would be beyond useful!

I'm taking in November and probably January. I have access to all LSAC released prep tests but they are in PDF format. I also like the prep test format on Khan Academy. That being said, a few questions...

I took the June 2021 test and the reading and logical reasoning didn't seem too bad, but the logic games seemed very difficult to me. I'm taking August test next week so overall how do you guys predict the games section on the August 2021 will be in comparison? What about the entire test in general? Also the curve for the June test lowered a lot of people's scores, do you guys think the curve will be more in our favor for August?

I initially chose C. This is a good trap answer, a very good trap answer indeed. The trap comes when they say that rural people communicate less. The passage talks about communicating ELETRONICALLY less, not communicating less in general. If you read this quickly, it makes perfect sense. Rural people communicate less electronically, so answer C is correct. However, because answer C is missing electronically, it is wrong. This is very sneaky!!!

Answer A is a classic difficult answer. It perfectly summarizes, which is the job of a good principle answer, but it does so in verbose language that is different from the passage.

Answer B is irrrelevant and introduces new information

Answer D is irrelevant and introduces new information,

Answer E is irrelevant and introduces new information

Watch out! Trap answers are very sneaky!

This question was doozy. I wanted to share with others my notes on how I got the correct answer during Blind Review. During the timed test, I would most likely skip this one and save it for later. It took some time for me to translate the stimuli into a format that made sense to me.

At first, I also thought that the sentence in question was the conclusion of the argument. I had to ask myself what the author was really trying to convince me of; that it is not necessary to be at home to be in your house? No. The author was trying to convince me "You can be in your backyard and not at home, that is, not in your house."

So, my notes to decipher it and arrive at the correct answer looked like this:

Difficult argument structure. I think it is C because if we rewrote the stimuli into easier language to read and understand it would look like:

Conclusion: You can be at home if you are in your backyard but not in your house.

Premise: For example, you can also be in your house but not at home if you rent your house to others. (If you're the landlord you could be in the house to do repair work, but you are not 'at home' because you don't live there)

Premise 2/Subconclusion: Therefore it is not sufficient to be in your house to be at home.

Translation of answer choice C: Claim is compatible with the truth or falsity of the conclusion = This is a premise/sub conclusion

Why C is the the right choice?

Context: Some researchers claim that people tend to gesture less when they articulate what would typically be regarded as abstract rather than physical concepts.

Premise: Because some people perceived words like xxx, as XXX....

Conclusion: To point out that such a correlation is far from universal is insufficient reason to reject the researcher's claim.

Hello! Would anyone like to form a study group to keep each other accountable? I am free most of the day and would like to start studying between 9 and 10 am EST time. Am open to Skype, Zoom, text, calls, facetime etc. I am in the eastern time zone.

I have been studying for the LSAT for over a year now and August will be the last time I take it. My $99 Law Hub membership expires in 5 days (It is very annoying that LSAC started making people pay for this last year). Given that I will only be needing to use LSAT material for at most 3 more weeks, I cannot afford to pay another $99 just to stop using 7sage and Law Hub after the August test.

Does anyone have any ideas on if there is any way to only pay a fraction of the $99? I never applied for fee waivers, so I would not be able to get one for the subscription. Any advice is much appreciated!

Hi, I'm having an issue and was wondering if anyone else had the same/similar problem in the past and how they've dealt with it. LSAC has given me the run around and won't "formalize, or whatever" my CAS profile until the issue is resolved, so my profile is incomplete. So if you have any ideas please let me know.

Here's the situation:

LSAC has received all my official transcripts

Transcript from school A says I took class X at school C

Transcript from school B says I took class X at school B

I never attended school C

I did attend school B and took class X at school B

LSAC sees that the transcript from school A says I took class X at school C and labels school C as a school I've attended and failed to acknowledge

I tell LSAC I did not attend school C

LSAC told me that if I did not take class X at school C, then I need to have school A edit their transcript to show this fact and then I need to have them resubmit the corrected transcript to LSAC

School A is no longer a school

School A transformed into school D

School D is the custodian of school A's transcripts

School D cannot edit school A's transcripts

School C has written a "letter of non-attendance" on my behalf and I have forwarded that to LSAC

I've spoken with both people at LSAC proper and CAS, and supposedly last year when I was trying to remedy this problem, the letter of non attendance would be enough to remedy the situation (and this was after a big time sink of call after call after email). Now, I'm getting conflicting input on how to fix the situation from them, and also now they are telling me that the letter of non attendance needs to be sent directly from school C to them via snail mail and that the previously forwarded email from school C containing a scanned document with the signature of their registrar is not enough. Basically, the goal posts keep moving and I have no idea what to do from here.

Problem persists without resolution and the fixes to the problem that LSAC are giving me are literally impossible.

I have done this passage 3 times and have gotten 4 wrong every time. I was just wondering if anyone else has done this passage and has found the questions to just be too hard. I normally go -3 to -5 but dang I don't even know what happened here...

Hi,

I just took my LSAT writing and kinda bombed. I was feeling awful going into it but decided to do it anyway. I've always been an okay writer and I wasn't too stressed about it. However, I noticed after submitting it that I had failed to delete my brief description of the decision to be made and the criteria -- they were just sitting above the rest of the essay with a line in between -- and I made a couple of noticeable typos.

Is there anyway to redo it without redoing the entire test? Or to cancel only the writing section?

If it's at all relevant, I started a new medication today (my first dose was about 4 hours before the test) and I think it's definitely possible that it's what was making me feel wonky. I feel a little pathetic using that as an excuse but I honestly believe that it may be relevant, I don't know.
