Hi everyone, I'm currently struggling with RC (mainly timing issues). I'm working with standard time and it's just not enough for me. When I'm practicing with a little extra time or just untimed, I tend to write out my low-res, view points and all that stuff and I ZOOM through the questions missing no more than 1 or 2 at the most on the passages. When timing constraints are on, my note taking is shit and I can't comprehend the text as much as I should be and I rush. Do I just need to slowly get rid of the physical note taking?

Is there any tactics you guys use to get you started? I do warm up with 15q of LR and 2 games.

I feel like its my anxiety mostly that kinda eats me up at the beginning of the test.

I remembered a question that had something that basically said: A or B without C

would that be translated as:

/A and /B --> C (since you negate the suff and change the or to and?)

Hey everyone. I am currently going through the core curriculum and have done almost all the weaken problem sets. I cannot seem to remember / apply the tips that J.Y goes through. And even when I get some questions right, I feel that I still cannot explain why one answer is completely wrong and the other is right (I always get it down to two answers and I pretty much pick the wrong one). I usually average 3/5 on the sets. Does anyone have some tips? It would be greatly appreciated :)

Just wondering if it is better to wait a day after taking a PT to begin the BR process. I usually begin that day after taking the test.

Hi everyone--just wondering if people have advice on how to improve with these problem types? I've found that I consistently underperform on these games and I'm not sure why--I think my main difficulty is maintaining all the rules and working within time, but generally I find that I get "stuck" with them more consistently than I do with grouping or regular "in/out" games. Can someone explain PTC, S2 Q08? I am trying to understand why A is the right answer and why the other answers are wrong.

According to your explanation video, the tutor said the cause here is 'technologically superior' and the effect is 'lower infant mortality' but i still can't understand why.

What I thought is the reversed version of that. The cause is 'lower infant mortality' and the effect is 'tech superior'.

And answer choice (A) suggests that the cause can be actually the effect of the other cause, which breaks the causal relationship between 'lower infant mortality' and 'tech superior.' So basically (A) is saying the cause is 'broader access' and the effect is 'tech superior.'

Is my thought process ok to use?

For this question I am a little confused. In one of the videos, JY mentioned that a right answer for PSA questions should end at the same place that the principle does. In this question, the correct answer says that "Toril did not act responsibly." The conclusion of the stimulus is that one is acting responsibly. Is it possible for the right answer to have a different conclusion from the stimulus? Do other right answers work with contrapositives?

Hi everyone, I know this has been mentioned before and I even commented on a post about this but is it normal to score better on one of the 2 LR sections every time on PTs? I consistently get around -5 for the first section and -8 on the second. Is the second section generally harder or is it perhaps fatigue?

Also am I right in assuming that the experimental section on the real test isn't guaranteed to be LR? At this point I am kind of hoping two LG section come up as they are actually kind of fun. Still making small stupid mistakes on them but hoping I get more accurate with more practice.

Were y'all able to use the control F or command F function on the ProProctor LSAT platform?

Can someone provide some insight into why answer choice A is correct. I chose D because I identified the conflicting events/occurences to be the steadily increasing proportion of left-handers in newer generations despite the fact that overall-lefthandeness has remained constant.

The only answer that solved this for me was a decreasing birth rate. If less people are being born then despite there being a greater percentage of left handers in younger generations, for example as the question states 20% among 20 year olds and 10 % among fifty year olds, these greater proportions could still actually be equal to past proportions if the amount of 20 year olds born was smaller than the amount of fifty year olds born due to that decreasing birth rate. So the trend of constant overall and growing proportion in younger generations still works.

What I can see that would make this wrong is that is says a gradually decreasing birth rate, but if we are talking about 80 years, then idk how to gauge what would be considered gradual in that amount of time.

As for answer A, I am not seeing the resolution. I may be too built into my own answer, so anybody else please I would be happy to hear your perspectives.

I dont understand this question. I thought the flaw was making a generalization about one characteristic and placing the characteristic as a whole. Why isnt that right

I submitted my application to William & Mary today, however, I just realized that I made a small mistake in my "Why William & Mary Law" essay. I referred to Williamsburg as being a "highly-populated" and "thriving" city, even though it only has about 15,000 people... I went there for undergrad and somehow misremembered it as having more people than it really does. Anyway, it's a small yet noticeable mistake. Should I resend my essay?

I am trying to make sense of why I would get -14 on one section and -4 on other section of same PT..

This was from PT 75.. Has anyone experienced this score difference?

I thought that it was irrelevant, and therefore did not "support" additionally the paleontologist's conclusion.

For background, I've taken the LSAT twice and scored low 160's both times (albeit my second score was significantly lower than my PT averages). For the last 10 PTs, my average score is 169, peaking at a 175. My average performances are -3.4, -2.3, and -5 in LR, LG, and RC respectively.

I know what I need to do to better my LR and LG scores and I've gotten -0 on these sections before. The issue is I have no idea how to approach RC. My best was a -2 and I don't think I can reach -0 with my current tactics. I've gone through all the curriculum and am stuck because I feel like the only way I can improve in RC is by reading faster and being more attentive. I always aim for the big picture and the low resolution summaries slow me down considerably.

If you have a strategy for RC, even if it is unique, I would love to hear it! This is especially true if you have a strategy/strategies for specific question types on RC since I would love a more focused approach.

Hey everyone. I am doing the core curriculum and have noticed a lot of my answers I get wrong are because I simply read the answer choice wrong / argument wrong because I was so nervous to get it right within the time limit, even when I do not show the time elapsed. I plan on taking the test the second time in 2024 because my mind absolutely blanked during the actual test. It was like everything I had learned went down the drain and was like I didn't spend months studying for the test. I would greatly appreciate it for some tips to help this from happening again, whether it be for drills, etc. Hope everyone has a great day!

I have been studying for a while. My highest on a practice test is 163 and I've gotten 160 a couple of times. However, my blind review highest scores have been 169 and 171. The reading comp is the defining factor at times. Should I wait to take the lsat in Jan or do I just take it next month. Im signed up for both. additionally, what are some strategies you use during reading comprehension. I want to continue scoring higher but sometimes I get 18/19 and at other times 13/14. The next lsat is closely approaching.
