RC Tips

Hey! I am taking the January LSAT and I have been struggling with RC. When I do untimed passages, regardless of difficulty (whether its 1 or 5) I will usually miss like 2-3 questions on like 6 or 7 passages, but when I do a timed section ill miss anywhere from 6 to 9. If anyone is willing to share any tips or tricks they use for RC I would truly appreciate it. I am trying to bring down my RC to around a -4. If you're struggling with LG, I have gotten that down to a consistent -0 and I'll be able to share some tips as well. Please let me know, thank you!

Hi! I know that there are currently only LSAT tests in the beginning of 2024. But does anyone know if they will administer tests during the fall. August and etc.

I scored 155 in October on the Official LSAT, never scored higher than 156 on PTs prior. I have only been on 7sage for 3 weeks, since I decided to test again. I watch the videos while I crochet, it's that simple, and I have gained so much understanding about the LSAT compared to before subscribing. It's truly insane. I am taking the LSAT again in January, and I am so excited/amazed to have broke 170s this morning, with a 171PT. Can't stop, won't stop, til January LSAT! Thank you 7Sage!

I can't load the question table section under the lsat analytics page. Whenever I attempt to do so, I'm getting a Wordpress error message that says '504 Gateway Time-out'.

I had requested help under the live chat, where I was told to try deleting the cache or switching to a different browser. I have tried both options and it didn't work. I've also tried using other devices, including the 7sage app, but I'm getting the same issue.

Hi. i just love to think of the worst for fun lol (sos) but i take my first lsat in january, i think i'll have a decent score. i'm really just aiming for like a 155-157. but let's just say i don't get that score, would law schools look at a second, even 3rd attempt in a bad light? thanks.

I have probably taken 5 practice test up to this point after having finished the curriculum and I am starting to feel defeated. My first test I scored a 162 and BRed to get a 169, which I was very happy with. Since that test, my average has been a 156 and I don’t know what happened. I feel confident when answering and then get my score and feel like I know nothing. Is this a normal thing when beginning prep tests? I have four months left of studying, so I am trying to gain advice from others!

Hi everyone,

I've waited so long to post this. Never give up, there is always hope.

TLDR;

Graduated Undergrad in 2016 - 2.49 GPA.

Got introduced to LAW from a friend and as I did research I fell in love with the field.

Started Studying for LSAT in Sept 2018

1st test - Jan 2019 - 137

2nd test - July 2019 - 145

3rd test - June 2023 - 152

LSAC GPA 2.35

I decided it was time to apply because I knew I couldn't do better then 152, plus I did not have the money to pay for a tutor and I'm 31, so I don't have time to keep studying. I got a family to take care of.

I submitted my applications on Sept 1st.

I got my first Acceptance to a part time program in October with a 50% Merit Scholarship. Ranked 100+ Law school with a pretty decent bar pass rate.

I got denied by the worst law school in the United States - Cooley (Honestly, this was the school I was hoping to get into if no other school accepted me, it was my final option, even if the school is terrible)

I got waitlisted to a law school that is ranked in top 100.

Waiting to hear back from 2 more law schools.

Main point - NEVER GIVE UP. I have worked so hard to reach this point. Look at my stats.... I got into LAW SCHOOL with a Merit Scholarship.

I got denied by the worst law school and that is totally fine because another school saw my potential.

Please don't doubt yourselves. Keep working hard and everything will fall into place.

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!

For people who are preparing the LSAT and plan to take it after August 2024, that the original LG section will be replaced by an additional LR section, how is everybody utilizing the PTs? Since the PTs are past exams, they include the LG section. But LG will not exist in the exam anymore starting August next year. But if we simply skip the LG section when doing the PTs, our scoring will not be an accurate reference. What are people doing to overcome this?

Hi, I've been studying for the LSAT since 5 months and I've recently broken into 150s. I always miss a game in LG, almost a whole passage in RC and 2-3 questions in LR, which is why I score much higher in my BR. I want to work on my timing and break into 160s by the Jan exam. Any advice/tips? #help!!

Can someone help me with the word "only." It is a word that is giving me so many headaches when trying to do conditionals. I seem to be having trouble when only is mixed with "will"

I am doing the skill builders on this lesson - https://classic.7sage.com/lesson/skill-builder-kick-it-up-to-the-domain/

I am having trouble with question #12:

High school teachers who teach AP courses will only tutor students they believe to be in danger of failing and they believe that only students who missed Monday’s class are in danger of failing.

From previous classes, we have learned that "only" is a necessary conditional indicator. But when it comes to statements above, I seem to get confused. In cases like these, does only modify the "second action"

I will only go to class on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Tim will only write the exam when he is ready

I will only make eggs if they are fresh

Would this be the same as:

I will go to class only on Mondays and Wednesdays

Tim will write the exam only when he is ready

I will make eggs only if they are fresh

Hey! I didn't get diagnosed with ADHD until my final semester of my undergrad. I graduated with a 3.1 GPA and was wondering if I should write an addendum explaining my diagnosis? My first semester GPA was a 3.0 (took all 100 level classes), second semester GPA 2.6, summer semester GPA 2.8, third semester GPA 2.3, fourth semester GPA 2.7, summer semester GPA 3.1, fifth semester GPA 3.0, sixth semester GPA 3.7, seventh semester GPA 3.6. I also changed my major after my second semester.

I wanted to share an observation and concern that has arisen for me while working through the Core Curriculum Version 2, specifically about the Drill Generator. I'm about 70% complete with the LR section of the Core Curriculum V2. I started after V2 was launched so its my only point of reference for studying with 7Sage. I have, for the most part, generated a drill at the end of each section as outlined in the Core Curriculum to test my understanding of each topic.

After looking at the 'Show Existing Drills' tab of the Drills page, I noticed the drills generated while going through CC have been pulling questions from PTs as high as PT 76. The only way I see to restrict what tests are pulled from is found in the Drills section of the website; I do not see a way to restrict what PTs the Drill Generator pulls from when the Drill is generated in the Core Curriculum part of the site.

My most basic question is what tests should be pristine coming out of the Core Curriculum? I realized today I don't know the answer to this question. Ultimately, it is not that many questions that have been generated off of these tests, but my observation is that it is not intuitive that the drills at the end of each Core Curriculum section are pulling from a large number of tests. By default, the drills in the CCV2 diminish the number of pristine tests available when we complete the curriculum, which seems to be in opposition to major tenet of proper LSAT prep.

Short version - What tests are we supposed to keep pristine while in/coming out of CC? Do you use the drills feature in the CC on the first pass or start drilling after finishing? Is it set up different in V1?

Thanks!

I finished PT 77 yesterday and left my screen on the Blind Review section for the night. After I refreshed the website again this morning, all of my progress was lost and the website is starting me again on section 1. Is there anything I can do to get my previous progress/attempt back?

I'm having a lot of trouble understanding the stimulus's support for [A] being the correct weaken answer.

I eliminated it because the skeptics never said that it was just the bottom layer that was contaminated; they just say "the samples were contaminated" so I thought that they were referring to the entire collection, which would include the upper layer. The skeptics never differentiated between the uppermost and lower samples for their hypothesis, so AC [A] doesn't seem to weaken their hypothesis at all.

How can I infer that they're excluding the uppermost samples in their hypothesis? Is it because the stimulus says that the uppermost samples are dated to the present and therefore couldn't have been contaminated by the old carbon?

I have taken three practice tests now, and have gotten within the 163-167 range each time with similar trends. I am missing 3-5 LR and 3-5LG questions and then roughly 8-10 RC questions. I feel like RC is holding me back from my goal score of 168/170, but I am unsure how to approach my last couple months before the February test. Should I double down on LR and LG, or do my best to try and save a few points on RC by studying that even harder? I know that RC is generally the hardest section to improve on, and I dont want my time and effort to be wasted. Just want to make sure Im using my time as best as I can. Thanks in advance for any thoughts and advice, and good luck to everyone studying.

Hi All,

I am looking for 1-2 people who would be interested in free tutoring for an hour or two a week over the next two months. After what has been a valuable experience working with @Sami, I would love to use the opportunity to pass on and personally solidify the strategies I've learned. I am currently scoring in the mid-160s after seeing a 7+ point increase working with her. I've taken the actual test a couple times already and am familiar with the fun that comes with test day.

I am based in the US Central time zone with a very flexible schedule. Shoot me a message if you're interested! Thanks!

Need advice figuring out if I messed up on admissions lol. I took the November LSAT, and one of my top choice schools still accepted early decision applications with Nov LSAT scores, but the application would be submitted before you saw the score and populate with the score after. Flash forward to release day, and the score I got was one point below the school's median (1 point below 50 percentile, but above 25 percentile). The day after, I decided to sign up for the January LSAT to boost my score and since it's so close to the median for my goal schools.

I just checked on the status checker for my ED application, and noticed that it unchecked the CAS - No Future LSAT box. I know this is because I signed up for the January LSAT, but is there some kind of rule where you can't sign up for a later LSAT after your ED application has been submitted? I called the admissions office today to ask as much, and they told me to send them an email. But does this affect my application in anyway?

Going to start by saying I know very little about how this works... I hear that some people's GPA are raised by the scale that the LSAC uses. The highest grade at my college was an A, an A+ wasn't offered. I have a 3.6 (I think?), therefore would that be raised at all by the LSAC? Assuming I need more information to calculate this I just don't know where to start (lol, as you can tell the grades that brought me down were the math-related courses).

[I am posting on behalf of a 7Sage user:]

Can you go through and explain I am really confused I think PT 1 S3 Q07 has answer mistake.

The last sentence says that there is more male duck in the old duck ration compared to young duck ration with the female duck, which means more male in OD: FD compared to YD:FD.

After stating that they are saying that NOW we can infer that if there is more disparity b/w two sexes M: F the more the adult male ducks will be.

it is like saying that there are two liquids A AND B in both A and B there are three components 1,2, 4

( 1,2 both belong to the same group so lets say 1+2=3 )

now they have given us a ratio of 3:4 for both A and B and said that 3 is more in quantity than 4

but we know 3 has two components 1, 2 and they have also given us quantity comparison of 1,2,4 they are saying 1 has less quantity gap with 4 means if we add 1 into one flask and 4 into another flask they will look filled nearly the same, but if we compare 2 and 4 in quantity 2 is much more than 4

now they are saying we can use this for all so whenever 3 increases 2 will increase in greater proportion than 1 because the ratio of 2 is more compared to 4 means there are many 2 compared to 4 than there are 1 compared to 4,

A/B= west/east

1=young male 2 =old male 3=1+2 (all male)

4= total female

Hi y’all,

I am taking the Jan LSAT, and I am trying to decide which day to take the test. I’m testing remotely and am fortunate enough to be completely available for all offered days (Wednesday through Saturday).

Is there an optimal day to remote test to avoid issues from Prometric’s end? Does the system run into more difficulties on Friday or Saturday? I’m assuming more people take the test on those days. Are there more glitches on first day?

I took the Nov test on the 2nd day, early in the morning, and didn’t run into any issues.

I understand testing/proctor interruptions are ultimately random. Just wanted to see if anyone had some hunches?

At the end of the day, whatever happens, happens. Best of luck to everyone studying!
